It's a shame we have next to nothing in terms of magical might.
Sombra is one of those armies you don't want to face without mystical/mental protection.
Though, who knows. We could go XCOM on him- reverse engineering his magic, so that we are able to counteract it.
How? Buck if I know, frankly. Again, shame we haven't visited and traded with a mystically advanced civilization.
Hopefully there are mixtures or materials or other mundane techniques that are really good at breaking those crystals of his.

So like Sauron we need to strike at his weak point while keeping his attention elsewhere. Send infiltrators to try to sabotage the things powering him up. We don't know about the crystal heart but 'magic user having some kind of supplies they draw on' is a common idea yeah?

i'm...pretty sure there is literally nothing we could do to harm him if he just turns into his big dark cloud form...soooooo....that's gonna be an issue...on the other hand, i'm pretty sure that if we could cut off his head before he does the smoke thing he would still die, so, at least some hope if he decides to be dumb?

Well I'm pretty sure hes ground bound an we are in a mountainous are.. we gave gunpowder right? Maybe cause landslides and harass him with projectiles from afar. Maybe use the Diamond Dogs to make pitfalls and other traps to inconvenience him and tire him out. We are after all more mobile than him.

He is in mist form so he can fly, projectiles will just pass through him, in his mist form he is big as entire city and he can create spikes of crystals as a weapon and he will just pass through pitfalls, that is if we have big enough pitfalls to contain him in the first place.

A frontal assault is good and everything, but that isnt all there is to a war, there is the intrigue aspect also, we, as in the empire, knows nothing about Sombra besides he is a magical evil unicorn, maybe some may thing he is discorded. As such when we know nothing on how to beat him, we may find ways inside his kingdom to try and beat him ourselves. So one of the key ways to beat him is to get inside his seat of power, he is making his way towards us, as such it would be, not fully, but defenseless enough for spies to figure out wtf is going on.

Nonono, we are not for into direct combat. Our wife can beat his ass while we throw mone- i mean send our tehcnologically advanced and highly trained military and allies and tons of mercenaries to defeat him. Our super power is throw money at things, gold is soft anf not good for beating faces in but it is valuable and good for paying off thirty other people to beat their everything in.

There is only one way to communicate my feelings on learning of Sombra. After a rousing rendition of the "Oh Shit" song, I felt this:
