Hm. Something to keep in mind is if TZ has access to Macross cloning technology they can create full grown clones complete with military, and well judging by the fact that they had all the shiny hardware of Zeon while being a result of a natural one... True Zeon is probably the elite core of a fighting force Zeon was building up to conquer the EF eventually. Hence why once of their stated founding goals is to get Zeon to declare war on the EF.
They weren't the elites they were the fanatics. And they don't have shiny hardware they stole prototypes that while impressive are not game changers or war winners. Most of those units don't even have anything that valuable only the special weapons are worth anything and even then barely as we are rapidly outpacing them already in technological advancements. In fact, the Wolf squad is all usings Zakus except for their leader who has a deadman custom and that is going to be dealt with by our CQC experts and not us.

A small correction, Wolf 04 is the one in the deadman custom.

Again no Alex is not. Nothing in the actual text has her reacting at all to the invisible text. It is there for player benefit only same as how the players see the enemy comms but the actual units fighting do not know what they are saying. If anyone is feeling/hearing anything it is the blank not Alex and of the ones to capture she is the worst option since she would have little to no viable infromation. As for narrative a better narrative is not risking the lives of your allies to try something stupid which considering Alex's guilt flaw is more in line with her character. And without a desperate war neither side is going to rush their newtype researchers and develop stupidly unstable people that only hurt themselves and the actual understanding of newtypes.
That was my original opinion on the topic, but it kinda has the issue that she would be showing thoughts for herself when it returns empty something that implies a capacity to recognize such a mental state, and if you're correct what is your explanation for one of the invisible text option being something we can choose for Alex to do?

We clearly disagree on this topic.

Yea Zeon has just got a what 1-2 million ship armada looming on the horizon to justify it. Just no long protracted war with limited resources to justify it.

Are we really sure sure that True Zeon got their hands on ECA through convoy raiding? What if we still have TZ moles inside the federation, and one of those moles passed the ECA schematics and parts to TZ?
It's infinitely more likely that True Zeon has moles inside

Oh I don't know

Fucking Zeon!

Who also has ECA, because we decided that space fascism is Good Actually considering what's on the horizon.

That is everyone in the Earth Sphere.

Well, there's Side 6/the Republic of Riah, but they're not precisely... relevant.
Every side has it every colony as well all the technology we have developed from the ship is in everyone's hands. That is why tech is going to be acquired by TZ because it is not just two groups that have it. Zeon and the EF are simply the main factions but they are not the only groups.

The Sides that aren't 3 or 6 are part of the Federation though.

And yes I know that this game doesn't work like that but the above is my line and by god I'm sticking to it. Otherwise, TZ isn't our concern because it's in space, and apparently we don't have any space presence.

Several sides are firmly on the Federation's side but several are either neutral or Zeon leaning. That is why we need to take the political action to get them to join us. We have space assets the issue with TZ is that they are split up into smaller cells that move around so it is difficult to pin them down.

Space assets without any people in space to maintain them, genius.

We have people maintaining them or do you think all our ships, convoys, and outposts are sitting around empty. Our forces are spread out that is why TZ can hit them.

Also can I convince you to vote for flanking the 2 coming at us. Since not only is trying to talk to people who are fanatics and blanks a worthless action. Asking them where they got their equipment is a best going to get no response or mockery from them. There is a reason banter and unnecessary radio transmissions are not done in actual combat zones after all. I want to kill all these guys and be done with it if some get lucky and survive to be captured that's great but it is not the main priority here.

We could let the Sides see to their own defence if they're independent, and if they're not they're not.

Oh, right, yeah I'm with you on that one.

[X] Flank them (Roll 2d100 (Shooting/Maneuver), Best of 4)

The whole point of those outposts, patrols, and convoys is to show the other sides that we can protect them and ourselves. Our early losses to TZ really destroryed our creditably with the other forces in the sides. Our victory in the last operation helped and depending on the outcome of this battle and the other two going on it will solidify our reputation and ablities one way or the other.

Yeah but why are we patrolling in their space lanes? Isn't that a violation of their sovereign territory?

And for that matter doesn't the Federation supposedly maintain military garrisons on the Sides? Either that's false and when Zeon tried to use it as a justification for gas attacks they lied, or it's true in which case we basically run the military and trade of these things that are completely unconnected to us, which I don't get.

I mean them electing their own governments wouldn't make them not part of us, it's not like state elections don't exist in, say, the USA.

Because we have our own people and trade vessels going through those lanes it is the same reason the USN patrols all over the world even in areas that have nations that are not allies. Most lanes would be in international waters so to speak no one owns them. As for the garrisons and bases same thing like the US military the Federation would have bases in those sides that are under their control and in the sides that are friendly to the Federation. It is the same thing that has been done for years since the end of WW2.

Except that in this case, it's as if NATO other than the US literally has zero soldiers, vehicles, and ships.
