[X] Plan Basic
Guys remember that we are unlikely to have reloads for this fight so only having 1 gun is a bad idea. This is 2/3rd of TZ's entire forces that means we are going to be outnumbered until reinforcements arrive. We also do not know when those reinforcements will get here. They are likely far away from our location.
No we can not that is not how beam rifles are powered. Even if we could it would take a reactor several times the size and power output of what is in an MS and even then it would take several minutes. The reason Beam weapons for MS are possible is because of the E-caps which are the ammo packs for the gun. We are unlikely to have any more than the one in the rifle because we had to scramble to launch so we have no reloads. We should be able to power a beam rifle from our reactor if necessary.
The only dead people are going to be the rest of our Squad.Having a shield is nevertheless a good idea when enemies are all around. Worst case we grab dead people's weapon.
Being able to kill more of the enemy to keep your team alive. If a surprise attack wipes an elite squad then it wipes a squad, i do not see how an extra gun instead of a shield helps in that regard.
We don't need to be the one to do that alone. An extra gun, especially a close range one like a shotgun, isn't going to help as much as you think it will in space.
We aren't trying to. We are trying to keep fighting as long as possible so we survive until reinforcements arrive. Once we run out of shots that is it because trying to use the beam saber outside of a desperate defense is not going to work.We don't need to be the one to do that alone. An extra gun isn't going to help as much as you think it will.
We didn't come close to running out of shots in the last fight, and I don't think the chances of running out here are that high.We aren't trying to. We were using a sniper and making our shots one at a time. When we used our second weapon the carbine which has more shots than the regular rifle it was three shots per action. The battle also ended after the second action of shots. The others were also using more shots during that time as well. Sniper attacks and this kind of furball are very different battles we will be using more shots. We didn't come close to running out of shots in the last fight, and I don't think the chances of running out here are that high.
So you do not plan to try and give our character the best chance to survive then?Which itself is a pretty big assumption that the PC will survive. Rather hard to maneuver out of danger when the space is filled with enemies.
That was the case for the GM and IIRC the original Gundam and Guncannon, but it's entirely possible to power a rifle off a reactor. Didn't the Gelgoog not use E-Caps because Zeon lacked the technology, for example? No we can not that is not how beam rifles are powered. The shotgun gets the shooting bonus it isn't split into long, medium, and short range shooting it is just shooting.
No it did not Zeon developed the technology to make beam weapons for MS they had their own version of the e-cap. A MS cannot power a beam weapon that is the whole point of finding ways to store the power to make them useable. It takes ships minutes to charge their beam cannons and that is with much more powerful generators. That was the case for the GM and IIRC the original Gundam and Guncannon, but it's entirely possible to power a rifle off a reactor. To survive we need to kill as much of the enemy as possible or take out that huge cannon which I think we should stay away from. Let Thunder and Pixie deal with it they are the close range fighters going off of their loadouts. And to kill as many we need as many shots as we can get.??? That is what the shotgun and shield if for, it covers up the weakest melee stat. Other characters might live and might die but it is rather pointless if the PC dies to save another.
I don't know what the difference between most of these weapons are?

This is actually some what untrue, well it has the lowest ammo count it is the most powerful out of the beam rifles. Like a .50BMG to a .308.BOWA-XBR-M-79-07G Beam Rifle: This is the first beam rifle made it is much worse than any other so ignore it.
If you say so? I guess I just remembered incorrectly or something, my bad.No it did not Zeon developed the technology to make beam weapons for MS they had their own version of the e-cap. Low ammo count and not designed to use the new E-packs which are what let beam weapons be reloaded makes it the weakest from a tactical and strategic point. Power is useless if you can't keep it going against the enemy. This is actually some what untrue, well it has the lowest ammo count it is the most powerful out of the beam rifles.
