Hey @manofjay is it a good time to fully explain who the Nod party are and why they did what they did
Honestly there isn't much to tell but here you go: Fresh off a global communist insurrection and still mostly a "rich man's club" of wealthier nations the EFF was slow to bring Middle Eastern and African nations into the fold. Originally a political party, Nod push for a faster integration of these nations to fulfill their stated goal of Human unification. Debates turn to protest, protest turn to riots, riots turn to revolts, revolts to revolution, and revolution turn to war. A rapid conquest of Egypt in just under a month and massive gains in both Asia Minor and Middle Africa forced the Federation to take notice. A brutal war to overthrow the Nod government followed and after the fact all former Nod territories were 'integrated' into the Earth Federation. Nod then went underground and infiltrated the Federation only becoming active again when Zeon Zum Deikun began spreading his beliefs. Side 3 Declared Independence, Nod assassinated Zum Deikun, the Zabis took power, and then an alien space ship crashed into Earth and you know what happens from there.

Oh so that's what happens and how the federation truly became United on earth

PANIC
Atlas Class
< TZ has the Lancelot's bridge! We wont die cowards! >

Patrol Two?
< We're had! Kill That fucking destroyer and move! >

Chaos erupts as mono-eyes fly from behind the both supply ship and Battlecruiser, as they do the destroyers unleash their guns into the TZ forces. The forward guns on the Lancelot turn to the nearest destroyer and fire. Six mega-particle beams slam into the smaller ship and the destroyer shatters, gone in a burst of flames.

Phoenix

Magic Hand

Thunder

Phoenix
< All ships! Target the Lancelot! Aim for the engines! >

As your own ships fire the supply ship in front of the Lancelot all but explodes. As the beams hit the debris the, for want of a better word, unfocus. The stolen Nova class' thusters roar to life as they break away, toward Side 3.

Their aiming for Side 3 so I suspect they are attempting to trigger a colony drop or at least a lot of dead. We are the only precision fighter present with enough mechanical knowledge to maybe trigger a counter burn from outside through bullets. Also, if we really want back up, the only near weight is Phoenix so if we fail to cripple they have the next best chance.

We need to stop the Lancelot.

@manofjay
1. Is the Pheonix also a Nova class?
2. How long will the Beam Chaff protect the Lancelot, or is the Lancelot already out of the Beam Chaff?

If the Beam Chaff is still protecting the Lancelot, then we want a Hela Light cruiser to support us, because the Hela class has a railgun, which will ignore Beam Chaff

1. Yes
2. It has moved out of the Beam Chaff cloud

[X] Stop the Lancelot (the 85th will stay and fight)
[X] The Phoenix

Also, this says our force has Salamis-class, not Hela-class?
As you pull into your assigned position you take note of the other ships in the fleet, a pair of Salamis-class light cruisers and four Atlas-class destroyers moved in formation with the Phoenix.

Give me a break it's been half a year but I'll fix it
No problem, I was just letting you know.

So, we should go after the Lancelot, because ultimately the destroyer doesn't matter compared to stopping whatever True Zeon is trying to do to Side 3.
For stopping the Lancelot, having the Pheonix as support is best, because it is built for fighting capital ships, and its AA and anti-MS guns are less than half that of even a single Atlas Class. The 85th and the 5 Atlas Destroyers should be well suited to stopping the True Zeon MS that launched.

Right we have to stop that ship and the Light Cruisers and remaining destroyers along with the 85th should be able to hold out until more units show up. If an ace shows up they will most likely be on the stolen Nova as that seems to be their primary asset and weapon.

So wait, what exactly happened with the hijacking here? Did TZ manage to take over all three ships of patrol 2?
AFAICT, True Zeon managed to take over the Lancelot, then told the two destroyers in the patrol to keep their mouths shut or they'd kill them with the Lancelot, when we came along and got suspicious about the Lancelot's behavior, the destroyers decided to blow TZ's cover and start engaging now that doing so would be able to accomplish something other than just getting them killed.

That makes a degree of sense, but I do kinda question the logic on TZs end to just leave two enemy controlled warships at their back. Surely the moment the DD crews realized TZ was going for the KKV strike on Side 3 they would attack damn the consequences?
