From what I can tell, RRSR is 10(Edit:11) votes ahead, and it was about 12 votes ahead before. I don't think there's a significant trend of the College of Collab vote causing Plan Redshirt to pull ahead. If there is one, which I dont think there is, it's not a very fast one.
Last time I checked a couple hours ago, it was about twenty to twenty-five ahead. And in the raw numbers, only RRSR was falling, while Redshirt remained stable. If they had both been going down, I wouldn't have minded, but the balance suggested a trend.

@BoneyM - assuming all of the above actually checks out like I think it does and is considered sufficiently legible, can this be added to the Collection of Important Information threadmark? Or something like this, at least? Because this does seem to keep on coming up, and having an official QM-approved threadmark that people can consult or be pointed to seems useful, at least IMO.

Good summary. Done.

Hum, I've been checking frequently as well and I don't remember that, but my memory is far from great so I'll take your word for it.

Anyway... College of Collaboration is accumulating votes *fast*, wow. I think it might actually pull ahead. I'm off to bed, but I'm very curious what I'll wake up to in the morning.

It's not surprising, really. Wishing collaboration for all goodly races is kind of a major character trait for Mathilde, and by extension the thread. There's a reason, after all, that our main diplomatic trait is specifically about working with other races. Something that doubles up on that with both research and knowledge preservation? It's about as perfect as we can get.

[X] Plan: Cleaned Up College of Collaboration
[X] Plan Redshirt v4 with Gyro

Would still like the Library bit to be a part of the charter but sure, I'll give the new option a thumbs up as well.

Thanks! I actually found a typo in my own post:
So whenever somebody says "magic users" in reference to the Articles, understand that this always means specifically arcane magic users, because anything doesn't actually get called "magic."
*anything else

Which I've corrected in the original post now, but you might want to update it in the threadmark too.

[X] Plan: Research, References, and A Sweet Ride

would have preferred to headquarter the research institute in Laurelorn, but no plan that has that is anywhere close to winning. Of the ones with a realistic chance I like this the most.

Right, I have been grumbling long enough, time to actually make a vote and stake out my position, even though it will not win.

[X] Plan: Waystone Research Institute
-[X] Branch College
--[X] Headquarters: Karag Nar
--[X] Charter: Research: Studies regarding all matters waystone, with focus on working with Runesmiths and other possible sources of information on them, and, in perspective, helping Dawi or others with them.
--[X] Colleges (all)
-[X] Karak Eight Peaks: To the degree it safely and sustainably can, let K8P gather, preserve, and disseminate knowledge to all goodly folk. Let the tool of this boon be a library and all the books that might be gathered to it, watched over by those of any race who would swear and be accepted as librarians.
-[X] Karak Kadrin Engineers Guild: A gyrocarriage

My issue with all leading plans is that they propose a fairly broad and non specific research group. If, hypothetically, a random Collegiate Magister wants to do research, and they have to choose between broad remit Colleges and broad remit research institute in the middle of nowhere, odds are they will remain in colleges, with bigger library and more networking options.

Focus on specifically waystones is due to how this topic is both specific and yet broad enough to yield decades of productive work - well, unless we solve all and every waystone related mystery sooner and reactivate all Dwarven relics of their golden age in like 10 years, which is not really an option and would be more than good enough Win Condition for research institute if it were to happen.
And it may well help on our current quest arc too, which would be neat.

It gives a specific topic, and yet provides explicit note of working with foreign specialists when possible. It excludes the option of throwing it at Mathilde's collection of random garbage, but from a hypothetical point of view of Research Institute Plan Quest, not being beholden to researching assorted pile of trash and instead having liberty to focus is probably a good thing.

...but i should probably throw an approval vote at one of leading plans i prefer, even though it feels very much like "department of inderdepartmental departments".

Mind you, the College of Collaboration is going to do nothing for the research backlog. N O T H I N G. Forget being able to research stuff like the Arm or the Acorn with a half action.
