This kind of implies that he's been going around retaking all kinds of other things instead in a comedy of errors. Like, someone's holding a map upside down, so Borek and his crew storm a Tomb-King's pyramid.
Given the things Mathilde stumbles upon without meaning to, it wouldn't surprise me if a Borek ended up the same as a protagonist.

Probably futile, but I don't think we can handle this right now, and the original objective takes precedence. I know that leaving a threat in your rear is unwise, but I like the options of dealing with that later than the uncertainties of poking it right now.

The hold falls silent once more, the whisper from Dwarf to Dwarf rendered unnecessary by the simple proclomation.
Typo: proclomation -> proclamation
First to the local EIC representatives, who are still getting established here, and then to a full meeting representatives from every branch of the EIC,
Missing Word: a full meeting (of) representatives
Some of the Skaven are already running when a Fangleader emerges from the side tunnel to investigate the commosion,
Typo: commosion -> commotion
It was sealed by mighty Runes as the Karak fell and remained untouched until Kragg unsealed it seven years ago, and it's impossible to begin to estimate the tally those Runes must have taken from ambitious Goblins and Skaven in those four thousand years.
Possible Discrepancy: K8P has only been lost for three thousand years, not four, hasn't it?

Also while I'm at it, I had some lingering questions, clarifications from anyone that remembers is appreciated:
1. Did the rule of Dieter IV end with his execution or did he manage to flee after getting deposed?
2. Can we recycle/reuse the Helldrake scales currently attached to Mathilde's robes if we decide to make a better version?
3. How easily available would it be to purchase Helldrake scales, if we need to find more? IIRC there was a roll for loot in Barak Varr when we first bought the scales, so that implies it's uncommon and relies on luck?
4. Did Kasmir return to take up his position as Stirland's Religious advisor again, I can't remember?
5. Was getting a Nagarythian diplomat stationed as Ulthuan's ambassador decided with a dice roll, when we gave them the captured Dark Elf working with Moulder? Was quite lucky, but not sure if it was from author fiat.
6. Are K8P and KaK the only Dwarfholds to maintain a standing airforce with which to project force independently, as opposed to Barak Varr's Gyrocopters which serve as extensions of their Navy and are attached to other units?
7. Who was the 4th God that Mathilde perceived when firing the Eye of Gazul? The first 3 seems to be fairly obvious as Ranald, Grombrindal, Mork/Gork, but I'm not sure if it was confirmed the last was Horned Rat?
8. Dwarven Slayers by definition seek their deaths in enemy territory where chances are they won't be able to receive a proper burial rite. Does the Slayer ritual performed beforehand allow their souls to return to the Underearth?

Random Dwarf: "There seems to be an awful lot of trees around here, are you sure we're going the right way?"
Borek: "Of course! I know the way to my own home, even if I was blind and deaf I'd be able to find my way back! See, there's a welcoming party right now!"
Welcoming Dwarfs: "Thank the Ancestors, fellow Dawi have come at last! Welcome to Karak Zorn! How fares the Karaz Ankor?"

I would argue the opposite, the original objective is Borek's pipe dream about the place that was swallowed up by the Chaos Wastes. That is not a phenomenon we can fix, maybe the Slann if they ever wake up enough but not us. On the other hand Vlag is still supposed to be out here where reality holds sway, there's only a spell to break to put it down and we can actually reclaim this Karak or worst case scenario they get lost in the Warp forever and Chaos does not have a back door into reality on Kislev's doorstep. Even ensuring that is likely a better use of resources than Borek's stated goal of reclaiming Dun.

Actually something I don't think has been noted yet, but is it possible the daemonette's +30 bonus was so large because there were multiple of them? Like, I'm pretty sure we were outnumbered there, so it makes sense that they would be rolling high, right?
Naw, usually we'd see an Outnumbered thing in that case.
Keep in mind that Slaaneshi have the highest raw skill mods amongst Chaos - Khornates are more well rounded combatants, but Slaaneshi favor the glass cannon duelist format.

A lot of Slayers seem to integrate themselves into the regular military throngs of various dwarf holds, which would often resolve the problem, but it's still a good question.

"Well rounded combatants"

A very nice way to put "superhuman berserker."
There are four big metrics of what makes an effective asset in a Warhammer Fantasy-type battlefield:

1) Strength (more generally, raw potential to inflict direct physical harm on the enemy)
2) Durability/Endurance (ability to withstand enemies' efforts to inflict harm)
3) Skill/Dexterity (ability to reliably live up to the potential for inflicting harm described in (1) )
4) Esoteric Bullshit (things that don't do direct physical damage, but still make a significant difference)

Khornates balance (1), (2), and (3) fairly well; their champions may be berserkers but they wear armor and otherwise have respectable defenses and tactical competence, stipulating that their tactical objectives usually involve maximizing for bloodshed and honorable combat.

Nurglites focus heavily on (2) and (4), Tzeentchians on an extra helping of (4) with maybe a side order of (3), and Slaaneshi on (3) with a side order of (4).

Its really weird that Khorne is into honoranle combat. Is that a thing?

Guys, if Vlag is still holding out then clogging the ways tones might well de-power defenses that they're relying on to survive in there.

Like many things in Warhammer it depends on the depiction/edition, but generally yes.

Though it's probably more accurate to say that Khorne values strength. If you're one of his servants, you shouldn't be so weak that you need to cheat, and if you're fighting something that's weak enough that it needs to cheat you need to up your game and fight something whose skull is actually worth something.

Others may have said it already, but leaving something like that at your back, would be kinda suicidal.

Sure there is a possibility that nothing happens, but on the other hand, if something follows us from the Warp Karak it would make the whole expedition even more ridiculous dangerous than it is already.

Yes, doing something right here and now, might be dangerous as well, but at least we can prepare.

This has already been discussed.
It's implied all that energy is already being diverted to hiding away Karak Vlag instead of powering the Wards. If they still have their Waystones they'll be absorbing tons of magic from literally being in a realm literally made of the stuff and if they don't they're either dead or have figured something out.
As has been said before Runes do not run on Waysone power alone, they also run on ambient magic. Being in the Realm of Chaos provides a lot of ambient magic. Moreover Mathilde saw the Northern connection between the Waystone and whatever is in Vlag as 'a star of magic' and said connection was linked to a cognition hazard. That Waystone magic isn't going to any dwarfs is what I'm saying.

The original lore for the chaos gods was they were corrupted gods of other things as well as there main thing.

but that one aspect took over.
Khorne was the god of War, Honor and blood.
Honor is still there, it's just that it's not as important as war or blood.

Amusingly there is going to be a faction that thinks this is why Mathilde agreed to come on the expedition. They will never believe we didn't plan this.

"Well of course this was a plan years in making, why else would she have gone to all those Waystone lectures years ago, with permission from the highest officials?"

It's a competitiveness thing, she hears about some guy she doesn't like being a big dwarf friend, uniting an empire, and defeating all sorts of dangerous armies, and she wants to outdo him.

"Oh, you became the God of entire race?" Mathilde asked Sigmar. "How cute," said the Goddess of Secrets and Magic, Friend-Goddess of Hope and Change, World-We of Wisdom and Learning.

"-and get fucked Tzeentch!"
