What's the time table for the expedition's length? a year or more?

Praag to Karag Dum is 1500 miles, steam-wagons are estimated to be able to maintain 50-100 miles a day. This gives an absolute minimum length of one month, the planners are assuming four.

Regarding this:

I took a note from Karak Kadrin whose flag, is literally just the symbol for their name.
But instead of just the symbols for Karak: Mountain, Stronghold + Dum: Doom, Darkness Chaos. I decided to fold in Kazad:Fortress, city to try in hammer the "Bulwark Against Evil" thing that I imagine they have. I did make sure to keep Dum physically separated just like the Zhuf of Zhufbar, to try and help distinguish that "Against Chaos" bit, but no Idea if that came through.

I mostly want suggestions for the background color and color of the symbols themselves though.
EDIT: Just whatever you do, don't suggest Curves.

This looks great. So far the light blue background version catches my eye the most

Glad you like it, let me know if you want to try any different line colors.

I really really don't want to be the guy facing an cavalry charge supported by two grey wizards. One to fix up the terrain and one to enchant their weapons. Armour pen magic weapon cavalry charge!

I'm not entirely sure about putting the eight-pointed star above the karak.
On the other tentacle, the sky/air/space above mountain would not represent "above/supreme" but rather "outside/ailen" - below the surface or "within [the heart of] the karak" would be a place of (positive) primacy imo.

@Shovah - maybe (due to our (players) human perspective), move one of the "walls" you have at the sides of the karak to the other side, and then on the other side of those two walls (opposite the karak), put the chaos star?

Given that we are heading into the chaos wastes to "reclaim" Karag Dum, while the same thing is happening over in RHUNRIKKI STROLLAR, where they are explicitly dealing with time fuckery, how many readers have been imagining a crossover where Snorri and the expedition get flung into the grimdark future that is Math's present?

Lose the eight pointed star! Use a five pointer star or a crescent moon or a circle if needed.

Perhaps a steel-grey on the same light blue background? It seems like that would have the right sort of bleak.

I do get what you are saying but like BeepSmile said:

These are Dwarfs we are dealing with. To them the sky is a foreign hostile sight, and the Good ground below is where home and hearth reside. I think that placing the Star inside/below/part of the mountain would have far more sinister meaning.

That's literally the Dwarf Symbol of Doom, Darkness, and Chaos, which they named their Karak after. I'm not going to make a new word when there is a perfectly good and old symbol for it already available. Nor am I going to question their naming schema.

Or maybe move the star to the right of the Karak, but rather than move one of the walls, add a third wall to side that the star is on, to imply "general defence like all karak's have, but this one is focused on chaos"

And the Loremaster of Karaz-a-Karak nods once, in approval.
"A new addition?" the Loremaster asks, peering down at the book as the High King hands it to him. "No, that's proper writing. Rakilid... maybe not. Never saw the purpose in making up new words, the old ones served our ancestors fine."

The star is. Fuck it. I've moved it myself, anyone in a discord who can throw this image to Shovern pretty please?

Edit: nggggg. Ok, I'll try to word it

The star is fully to the right of the two walls, and is also 60-75% lower, to the point where the top of it it is just a tiny bit higher than the top of the mountain.

The Karak's imagery is that of their defences keeping chaos out.

So hey, now that Rite of Way is done-ish: when are we going to try tackling the Golden Hounds? We gave Feldmann a pile of skaven war prizes for that stuff, we should do something with it.

[x] Spend some time exploring the Karak now that everyone has spread out into their hopefully permanent Clan Halls.
[x] Julia, to see what she has gotten up to as Stirland's most experienced spy master.

Sooo, did we test whether our Fog Path worked for things as heavy as a steam wagon? Would be a bummer if the Skywalks weren't powerful enough to lift one of those. Oh well, guess we'll see.

[x] Spell name - Fleeting Passage

Fleet from fleeting - temporary, ephemeral, impermanent
But also Fleet - Quick, speedy, rapid.
