Sooo, did we test whether our Fog Path worked for things as heavy as a steam wagon? Would be a bummer if the Skywalks weren't powerful enough to lift one of those. Oh well, guess we'll see.
How much weight could a way-rite right if a way-rite would right weight?

(Edit: I think that's got it out of my system. :) )

. The sole mitigating factor, as far as I can tell, is the fact that they are called Karag Dum rather than Karak Dum:
I totally forgot it was Karag Dum not Karak Dum, I checked the Lexicanum and it had Karak Dum, so I went with that.

FakeEdit:Actually looking at it more, even the warhammerfantasy Wiki sends mixed messages on the subject. The article title is Karag, and a chapter referenced also goes with Karag, but the text under the picture and said map both go with Karak.

Anyway I think I'll stick with the Karak symbol since I think the Karag one would be a bit bland, and I like the stronghold meaning of Karak as well. But thank you for the double check.

The star is. Fuck it. I've moved it myself, anyone in a discord who can throw this image to Shovern pretty please?

Edit: nggggg. Ok, I'll try to word it

The star is fully to the right of the two walls, and is also 60-75% lower, to the point where the top of it it is just a tiny bit higher than the top of the mountain.

The Karak's imagery is that of their defences keeping chaos out.

So, I tried my hand at the idea you're proposing, but I don't think it came out well for an avatar pic. I couldn't make it work in 500x500 without being a big mess and had to cut it down to 500x300.

See, the thing is that when I was thinking of what the image/sigal was communicating... I forgot it was for an avatar

On this plus side, it would probably be a great flag design. Simple, readable even at a great distance, and 3x5 proportions are apparently already (one of the) standards, if the US and UK flags are anything to go by.

Is it really a good idea to have the eight pointed star on your Karak flag? Seems like a vulnerability considering Chaos memetic bullshit.
Is it really a good idea to have Chaos in your homes name? Seems like a vulnerability considering Chaos memetic bullshit. :V
Also maybe it was a vulnerability considering what happened to the place in canon.

But yeah like Chocolate12 said. This is fantasy not 40K.

CS Lewis is a fucking hack[1] who just ripped off a fanfic of The Epic Of Gilgamesh!

Insightful retracted.

[1] I was, and am, offended by his blatency (Aslan is Jesus, Ok, I fucking get it) and authoritarianism - the star that got punished (Voyage of the Dawn Treader) for breaking the rules, and not because what he did was harmful, iirc, but because the rules were broken. Fuck the rules.

Gaiman and Pratchett are each a hundred times the writers CS Lewis could hoped to have been.
Bad post. Get out. Lewis is a great writer, you're abusing the word "fanfic", plenty of people still missed his message, experience tells me "harmful" in this framing is going to be a bait-and-switch, and while Pratchett is great it's Gaiman who's the hack with his regular fetish inserts.

I like the symmetrical version of Karag/k Dum more - it's like an evil sun or a wrecking ball hanging over the mountain, representing an ever-present apocalpytic threat, and they are the bulwark it falls upon, protecting the Below (geographically seen the Karaz Ankor, metaphorically seen the Glittering Realm and the souls of all dwaves) with their defiance and eventually their sacrifice. The symmetrical version screams IMPENDING DOOM and taking it as their coat of arms speaks of the typical dwarven stoicism and stubbornness - "We are doomed? So what? We will show them doomed! Chaos will shatter against our mountain!"

Interesting thing about new spell - and @BoneyM, please correct me it I'm wrong - if cast in energy intensive form it prevents army from leaving any trails.

One never really associate typical army group with stealth. It's too damn ovious to be missed by anyone except drunken snotling. But this actually give them quite a bit of stealth on strategic level.
- artilery wheels trais? nope.
- cavalry/infantry tracks? nope.
- smell? nope. (smell in air dispates quickly, none is left on ground)
- sound of heavy wagons? nope.

Trying to find where the heck army went is not that easy.

Also, lack of noise is important, as allows to move sizeable army much more stealthily on level of tactics. Heavy cavalry charge does not rumble on ground. It's weirdly silent with only horse breathing being heard. Sound of hundreds feet does not propagate through soil and stone. It leads quite nicely to confusion and surprise tactics.

The fanfic bit was an attempt to communicate how unserious my post was - an "All stories are fanfics of The Epic of Gilgamesh" sort of deal.

When I said harmful, I was speaking of how no harm came from whatever it action that lead to the star being punished, (If I recall that part of Voyage of the Dawn treader correctly). He got punished because he broke some rules, not because his choices lead to suffering.

I have no idea what you think I meant for 'bait and switch' to be relevant to this, but again: unserious post, this is hardly something worth arguing about
