That looks a lot like a military readiness roll, which might, if its a Waaagh, be to our benefit in a backhanded way because theres nothing that breeds unity like fighting an enemy intent on seeing you both dead.

... Oh shit.

I get it.

I get it

"Outside attack strikes while the Okral is about to leave/has just left, K8P sallies out to save them, potentially mending the breach by way of mutual "Fuck those guys" ?"

There weren't any known active threats in the area, so uhhhhhhhh

I think... Gorfang? It was Gorfang, right? I think he decided he needed to make a point, and we're about to empty Karak Drazh again.

Well, at least Belegar is home so we're not in strategic command--though we'll assuredly be a very influential voice.

That said, shit, we're not nearly as good outside of the cauldron battle the Caldera Battle was.

On the other hand, We have Battle Magic this time.

(shakes head) I like your optimism everyone, but.... the way the D6 roll was structured, the higher the result the more diplomatic of dwarf characters would be available to smooth things over. With a 6 being a fellow king on hand to serve as a neutral arbitrator. That says to me its dorf civil war time.

stop it I don't want heartbreak here

Who's home?

1: Literally nobody
2: Gotri
3: Dreng and Gotri
4: Belegar and Gotri
5: Belegar and Dreng
6: Everyone
Can we go two for two?

Who's home?

1: Literally nobody
2: Dreng
3: Belegar and Dreng
4: Belegar and Kazrik
5: Belegar, Kazrik, and Dreng
6: Belegar, Kazador, and Dreng

Hm...comparing the two lists, Gotri got removed while Kazrik and Kazador got added. So yeah, I think @Briefvoice is unfortunately probably onto something here.

oh shit of fuck, did Cython sneeze again? on the Okral!? we told him not to do that if there are armies in the neighbouring subcontinent.

The celebration shouldn't even happen until they're gone, IIRC. Nah, I'm thinking this has something to do
ok maybe, maybe, the Okral saw the party preparations, and assumed it was a farewell surprise party and now everyone is like really emotional and swearing eternal friendship, and we rolled to see who gets up to shenanigans? it must be that, right?

No, seriously, I cannot cope with a fucking blue on blue this fucking week.

Not this week, not after everything else that's gone to hell.

If we cast MMM. Would it make dwarfs debuffed enough that they can be subdued without killing them? Also it affects time not the dwarf so magic resistance should be less of an issue.

It doesn't matter whether MMM affects time or minds, it's still a magic espell, and magic resistance would work as well against it as it would any other magic spell. That said, the only dwarves that have enough magic resistance to actually matter when it comes to resisting a battle magic spell are the Runesmiths.

It's actually a pretty damn good trick for riot control, since it does no permanent harm but makes it a lot easier to subdue.
...Battle Magic. For riot control. And the scary thing is, it's actually plausible. Thank you, Staff of Mistery. Of course, I'm still hoping there won't be any need, but if there is...

Well, uh, if this is a Dwarven civil war, it seems like we might not be going out to Karak Dum. Although I'm hoping that it's just an Ork Waagh. Which is something I never thought I'd say in this quest.

I doubt we're in full-on civil war here, not that quickly, but a diplomatic incident... bloodshed, maybe even murder... a K8P stonemason that got so fed up with the Okral stonemasons insulting his standing that he swung his hammer...

Being bonked on the head and restrained might, though, and it's awfully good at making them susceptible to that.
We know that, and Mathilde knows that, but do the Okral? All they're going to see is big scary Battle Magic being cast and react accordingly, because their first assumption is likely that it's damaging in some way, physically or mentally.

Sorry, forgot to spoil my post so I deleted it.

God, is the best case scenario really a Waaaagh and the problem is attempting to establish a chain of command with the dwarves that spent years being asses?

So.. here are some of my wild guesses:

A) Most Straightforward: Okral and K8P tensions hit a boiling point and breaks out into actual conflict.
-Anything that breaks tradition might have caused this which K8P has plenty of: Mathilde as Thane, Kragg using Runes on Umgi, Gotri's radicalism, etc.
B) Okral provoked Cython somehow, escalation ensues and K8P has to either side with a Dragon or their fellow Dwarves.
C) Something to do with the K8P Waystone, perhaps the Okral was caught doing some tweaks to it, creating a scandal where Belegar assumes the worst or something.
D) Outside Enemy: Red Fang from Karak Drazh ambush the Okral as they return to KaK?
E) The Okral found Belegar's secret coin stash which he planned to quietly melt down into his own wealth, tainting his reputation.
F) Very Unlikely: The Liber Mortis is revealed to be held in storage in K8P.
