Honestly, I find it mildly amusing that the main arguments at present seem to be between Panoramia and Johann, when it's Cython who's currently in the lead for romance. :V

[X] [ROMANCE] Magister Johann
I understand the attraction for Pan but I prefer reading Johann. I like his "underdog" wrestling to climb history.

[X] Belegar, to discuss the northern Karaks and the Expedition.

[X] Kasmir, to see how he's keeping himself busy in Sylvania.
Its been a long time since we talked to him. The expedition to the Chaos Wastes may be an interesting topic.

[X] Elder Hluodwica, High Priestess of Esmerelda and civilian leader of the Eight Peaks Halflings.
Lets give her a try. We got surprised in the past already.

[X] Julia, to see what she has gotten up to as Stirland's most experienced spy master.
Always.

Approval:

[X] [ROMANCE] Journeywoman Panoramia
Sorry Dragon camp, I would love to socialized the Dragon but NOT to romance it.
Though if we pick him this turn cause its interesting than go for another romance target... I'm curious how it would be awkward.

I never said she was not as skilled as a magister, my point is that there are many more experienced magisters than her who could do the job just as well or better. I'm going to assume experience means as much for the jades as any other college and she is not a prodigy becuse there has bene no indiction that she is.

You are pulling facts out of thin air.

I invite you to look back at our interactions with Pan, and tell me how many of them have been focused on boring agriculture. Because that's the key here- not whether we find Panoramia's job interesting or not, but whether we find her and our interactions with her interesting. And if you don't that's fine, everyone has their own tastes, but you shouldn't be judging her by her work over her personality.
From all our interactions, yeah, she doesn't seem terribly deep or interesting.

I want more Metal Gear Solid action and whacky hijinks and crazy daring magic. I don't think Pan will give us that.

There's nothing Pan is doing which requires unique skills amongst the Green wizards. There are absolutely things Mathilde is doing that requires her unique skills for a start the number of grey wizards that could invent the battle magic spell we're doing for the expedition is probably 0 in the colleges.

Where as Pan is magic 4 and Mathilde has seen nothing in all the time she's been in K8P to upgrade/update that assesment. Johann despite having crippled magic has still managed to work his way up to magic 7 which is the vaunted ranked of Battle magic and magister lords in terms of magical skill.

The main argument for the Dragon is that it's interesting because it's quite novel and an opportunity that doesn't come easily, and Cython is an intriguing fully sapient with a power-dynamic that is so different from any of the other options. So.... I'm not sure what exactly the counter-arguments are to these points.... plus it has the bonus of basically being the one option so far uninvolved in "shipping wars" because it's so much unlike the rest of the options in implications, which was what people who initially voted against romance were concerned about. Also, we bought a Dragon Room, might as well use it. And we are going on expedition with another Dragon, so might as well see if we can get further understanding of Dragonkind by hanging out with Cython.

There's, not much to argue, he is a super old powerful dragon.
People either want to romance it, or not, i don't think anyone actually disagrees on who or what he is.

Citation required on experinced magisters being better at the straightforward application of their wind than a journeyman?

I don't think the burden of proof is on me here

Also there are certainly Grey magisters better at the fundamentals of being a Grey Magister than Mathilde, it's the strange and intangible like being favored of Ranald and a dwarf freind where she shines and Panoramia does not have that.

There's also how, while I'd prefer Pan (esp v Johann), I'd be perfectly happy with (attempted?) dragon romance. It'd new and interesting and bound to be fun no matter what happened. I imagine for a number of Panoramia v Johann debaters, Dragon is an acceptable second place so they're not all that invested in beating Cython down, while in comparison they are less-than-neutral on Johann or Panoramia and so will actively argue against the other side.

If magisters can be reduced to nothing but their spell list, then maybe Pan is completely average and easily replaceable.
Same would have been true of Mathilde for most of the quest, and possible now as well.
But magisters are more than just lists of spells they can cast.

You were already proven wrong about what Pan is doing, so you making definitive proclamations of how easy her job is kinda rung hollow.

One last thing before I finally hit the hey, I'm fucking psyched that the Dragon might win the romance Vote. Like I fully expect them to shoot Mathilde down.
Metaphorically.

If Cython shoots her down literally, then things have gone awfully wrong.

Do not debate with dragons, for you are squishy and taste good with ketchup.

If you feel that way about her that's fair. I disagree, but this is obviously entirely opinion based.

*raises eyebrow*

*looks at Melkoth, the absolute master of ulgu battle magic*

*looks at Algard, who invented towers that store themselves in pocket dimensions and a way to move the sun*

...I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're wrong when you say that Mathilde is the only magister who could invent this spell. There are at least two people in the grey college alone who I'd trust to be able to come up with the same or a similar spell, to say nothing of the other colleges, and probably more among the dozens of magisters/battle mages we haven't met. Mathilde's good, but she's not that good.

It quite literally is.

There is a green magic spell to literally make crops bloom nigh instantaneously. It's very very easy for a green magister to feed people if they want, throw in Waystone access and it's even more ridiculously trivial.

Spring Bloom: Ensures the fertility of a field or creature. Very long casting time.
^---

This spell moderate difficulty, trivial with access to a waystone given the way it functionally acts as a free +2 to magic when being utilised in the RPG which we know BoneyM is borrowing from heavily.

This is a spell literally any Green journeyman could pull off never mind a magister.

You are making very declarative statements on what making a biosphere in a barren soil involves for a Jade Wizard.
