Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.

Voting is still open I believe, and most of the discourse has died down due to the passage of time and a degree of "everything worth saying's been said", so you're probably in the clear.
Basically, vote for whoever you want to vote for.

So long as it's not Anton. :V

I'm almost disappointed to see you willingly admit that as a limitation.
I specifically asked BoneyM if Abelhelm van Hal was a valid choice for this vote and got told no, to ignore that would just be a dick move.

It does also make sense when you remember that BoneyM doesn't put up at vote they don't think will be contested. Which obviously this vote wouldn't have been had Abel been a valid choice.

Fair enough.

As much as I like Abel... he's dead and gone, and Mathilde as she currently is has no prospect of taking up Necromancy.

You need to let go, Hugger, let go! Free yourself from this constrictive romance, and explore new possibilities!

She does! All she has to do is reach out and grab it! All it takes is one bad turn, one round where the Random Number God(R a n a l d) decides Mathilde isn't allowed to be happy, and we will have another chance!

But until then, I am perfectly comfortable switching from Van Hal to Van Hal. Not as filling as the original, but it has a fine flavour on its own.

I can't argue with that. Van Hal is just as good as Van Hal, even if it's for different reasons as to why Van Hal was so appealing. That can't detract from Van Hal's inherent greatness as a shipping option, however, and so we must always choose Van Hall over Van Hal. Yes, I know what you're going to say- that we can't betray Van Hal by favouring Van Hal over Van Hal- but when it comes down to it, Van Hal is clearly the superior choice to Van Hal. So we must support Van Hal, so that they may triumph over the pretender Van Hal, the false heir to Stirland and Sylvania! No matter the hardship, Van Hal will reign victorious over Van Hal! To victory or death over the false-count Van Hal! FOR VAN HAL! CHAAAAAARGE!!!!!

Van Hal.

I've never been fond of the Anton vote. I just think he won't be able to keep up with us as we go from project to project. Especially since he's got land to manage.

We don't actually spend a lot of time away from our base of operations in game. And teleport towers are a thing.
I'm firmly in the camp of that unless we find someone that we're willing to spend at least one social action on every turn then there's no point in attempting to romance them.
Abelhelm was an easy one since he effectively was our boss and he was interesting. Anton just isn't interesting enough for us to go out of our way to encounter him other than when we're already passing through the area.

I thought those were more of a theoretical?
Fixed location to distant fixed location both of which are constructed for it, is possible. Fixed location to immediate vicinity might be possible, but really you could just hoof it more safely and not much more slowly.

Maybe if you had a giant slide with boosted Skywalk on it so you could air deploy off the mountain.

the current Patriarch is famous (in the college) for being the master of this type of tower.

and the great order base is like this too.

I always imagined it as having a tower in one place, and its doors in other places. using it as a central hub. (crash bandicoot 2 style?)

We did find such a person. His name was Kragg the Grim, and BoneyM repeatedly had to exclude him from social votes of he would be an autopick despite not having been involved in the turn's actions.

Has the thread ever considered handing the Liber Mortis over to the dwarves? Like, we've been keeping it secret and safe, but we also travel a lot and a lot of people always suspect wizards regardless of how they've proven themselves. And there's always the chance that someone skilled might take a crack at her home while she's not there. Mathilde has already read it, and I don't think we ever intended to use it beyond learning how to focus down enemy's weaknesses and improve our understanding of magical theory.

Gunnars is a member of the Order of the Guardians right, the ones who fight the undead? And K8P is becoming more of a stronghold every year, with deep vaults and protections. He and his order can hide it away, only to be brought out for emergencies like another vampire war or for his order to better understand how to fight undead.

I say this because at this point I trust the dwarves of K8P more then any other power in the Old World, and as much as Mathilde remains loyal to her college and the Empire (especially now that she's the heirs godmother), I think she'd think the same. Loyalty and trust aren't the same thing, and and I trust our new friends to never abuse it as I wouldn't trust the colleges or the religious orders.

I suspect the matter of the LM will be handwaved, since last year the vote over it was so... much. Relitigating that doesn't seem like something anyone would want, least of all our QM. Our security measures for it are already heavily abstracted away.

[x] The Ice Dragon of Karag Zilfin

Because Dragons duh.

[X] Magister Johann

He's cool.

[X] Vicereine Cadaeth

...Nothing can go wrong.

I'm pretty sure at least a few people who support the Great Library plan want to stick the Liber Mortis into a heavily restricted section.
The general idea is that once Mathilde hits Lord rank and has the largest collection of wizardly lore outside of Altdorf we no longer need to worry about being 'found out'. No one will be in a position to prove we aren't the duly appointed guardian of a book the Empire would very much want to keep intact but locked away.
