So guys, I think we should actually go talk to more people. Edda would be a good start, we're already sort-of-almost friends anyway, I'd enjoy talking to Kazrik some more, and we still need to talk to Dreng. Other than that...maybe go talk to Titus, see how he's doing? I need to go check our last Social Turn options, I'm drawing a blank on who else we can make friends with.
There's the other Undumgi leaders -- we've met Francesco now, but there's still @Glau's girl Soizic and my main man OSWALD OSWALDSON, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM NULN. Plus, there's Ruprecht Wulfhart, who is definitely going to be our equal: you don't become the head of a military order of certified badasses and then defy your religious head because you think he's lost his moral authority by collecting bottle caps.

He was decorated in giant feathers. So probably a Great Eagle.
Maybe even a chick or female that he ambushed in it's nest.

Having seen those feathers IC, Mathilde might want to investigate the neighboring peaks for Giant Eagles.
Getting a treaty with them for early warning of greenskin/skaven surface activity might well be worth the trouble of an agreement to keep a nesting area clear of greenskins. They certainly aren't Ork fans.
Making friends with Giant Eagles would also be another feather in her Gandalf hat. :D

So if you do not mind me asking, what do we need to do to upgrade Kragg to an out and out friend, rather than not quite a friend? Just keep up the good work? Get the arcane marks under control? Spend more social actions together? Or is becoming a full on friend with Kragg just not in the cards?
I think Mathilde can only guess, so we have basically only stuff like your questions to go on.

Boney has actually answered this before. When we have known Kragg for at least 1% of his lifespan, he will feel he knows us well enough to consider an upgrade to "friend" status.

Catching up with Wil in Stirland would be a good idea, her bio has been steadily getting more and more worrying.

Anion too

I believe that at some point a bare minimum to even get Kragg's character sheet on the Dramatis Personae was that we'd need to know him for about 1% on his life, which I think was calc'd to be about 13-15 years or so.

I dunno. If the religion is so ramshackle as to be shaken by the scandal of the pope collecting bottlecaps, you could probably get away with being fairly lackluster.

Hey! What about the cations? Are you chargist or something?

I think their bio has been like that for a long time.
It went from 'her friendship with you and Anton is the only thing keeping her' to 'you watching is the only thing keeping her in check' in a very quite way.

And if anime has proven anything, when the power of friendship is failing, shit is about to go down.

Plus she is our oldest friend, keeping up is something we should do for the sake of it.

You may have misinterpreted the statement? I'll make it clearer.

The collecting bottle caps refers to Grandmaster Ruprecht, not the Ar-Ulric.

Of course, you could be joking instead, in which case this clarification is unnecessary.

By searching the thread for that string, I can verify that it's been like that since mid-October, which is the same time we gained the < > for many characters who lacked them before:

In which time we've seen her twice I think and she's holding it together.

Which means we have been sitting on it for a while.

I have been proven wrong in my facts but proven in my point.

We have been neglecting our oldest, lonely and troubled friend.

For awhile. We need to check if things have soured.

If they had seen it coming, they would have. A lower roll, a very minor intervention from Gork and Mork, or needing to use the Red or Blue Towers could have provided them that opportunity. A force already aware of the Eye of Gazul would have had more alert spellcasters.

She'll get a full update when she arrives at the Citadel.

Mathilde's social circle in Stirland was made up of more or less her equals - Anton, Wilhelmina, Gustav. Here, it's mostly her fellow wizards, almost all of which are below her in Collegiate rank, all of which are under her authority as Loremaster, and all of which are lesser to her in ability. Kragg isn't quite a friend, but he is an expert in a field that she isn't and he's largely beyond the Karak power structure which makes it able to be a more equal relationship, despite the age difference.

Their the grizzled old cop counting the days to retirement, and the crazy young rookie talking about how shadow acid isn't good enough they need shadow fire.

Rule one of shadow tower don't talk about shadow tower.
Rule two of shadow tower don't talk about it because the halflings just sweep you up and sprinkled you over the cabbages.

She's like 2% of his age. There's only so much that can be done to bridge that gulf.
I get this bit, but is there any chance I could convince you to reconsider your decision to not include him in the Dramatis Personae? Purely as a "this is who that fairly important character that shows up semi-frequently is" without adding any of the extra insight into the character's relationship that the others have.

ex. "The oldest Runesmith alive. While not a formal member of the council, as a Living Ancestor his words hold great sway. He has sworn to die before Karak Eight Peaks falls"

Even though I'm not at risk of forgetting who Kragg is, it just bugs me because the entire point of a Dramatis Personae is to be a quick reference to answer "who the hell is this again?"

No? Look, that's our opinion of her. Our opinion of her is:
> Wilhelmina is a good person at heart, but worryingly intense about trade. You don't know how much further she'd go if she didn't have you watching over her shoulder.
That's not "she's one step closer to the edge and she's about to break," that's "she is too intense about winning at trade and she might go too far." Which, like, we knew. October had a lot of us being concerned about this, which is why we took the "instill good-of-the-empire" value action for the EIC.

I understand your concern for her, but you don't need to worry based on this.

Trying to catch up to Kragg the normal way is pointless, clearly we must ask a priest of Ranald's gf to curse him with youth.
It will devastate him, and we'll be there to comfort him.

Clearly we must make him a present when we leave. He will totally hate it and think it's normal human rubbage and yet keep it around. Can we make a monacle of windsight? Idk, what enchanted object would a runelord want?
