Btw, now Mathilde saw that weird dwarf prospector in the same context as gods, she definitely knows what he is, I wonder if she knows who he is? Is the existence of grombrindal known outside Dwarf legends?

Speaking of gods, from the mention of Ranald in this update I can just imagine him munching on a box of popcorn while laughing his ass off in sheer joy at all of this.

The dominant theory is that the spell draws information from the caster's mind to differentiate targets from non-targets. Either something else is going on here or there's a significant flaw in that theory. Because for an instant that stretches into what feels like hours, you glimpse one greenskin after another for a fraction of a second each and mentally confirm that, yes, it is an enemy of the Dawi.
welp, here's ANOTHER paper topic to go on the backburner

But, uh, yeah. This plan worked out pretty well. I don't think we're going to get to phase three. I'm not sure we're going to reach phase two.
While the artillery teams are going to be disappointed that they didn't get to put their beautiful, perfect killing field to use because of the tunnels, it does have the pleasant side effect that any remaining Greenskins in the Caldera are going to be funneled vaguely in the direction of the Citadel, so there is no real opportunity for them to scatter and start trying to get inside the mountains.

There's the Orcs that have yet to make it through the Gates, sure, but between Commander Wolf, panic causing them to trample each other, and Da Howlaz putting in work, I don't think they'll be able to pull themselves together sufficiently to put any of the Karag entrances at risk of being overrun.

What aren't you afraid of a Snotling Waagh?!
I'm just imaging the sheer power of a Snotling Warboss channeling massive amounts of Waaagh! energy, morphing him into da biggest and da strongest. He might actually reach knee-height.

So Mathilde just became the second human to get kill so many beings at once. She has to my knowledge beaten out the vampires, most necromancers, and all the Lord Magisters for single spell to kill ratio. Yes it was a group effort but that's what you get for letting a wizard prepare.

Also the only human that has killed more at a single time was Nagash. So yeah she is the most dangerous living human right now, magic wise. I think the waagh May be broken now. I really want to see the clean up and results. Since killing 40 percent of a human, Skaven, Orge, anyone with common sense or a need to be alive, army would cause a rout.

I'd temper this sense of triumph, everyone. Orcs are no joke and even if there are "only" tens of thousands of orcs left... that's still a huge army of orcs! Many allies and friends could still die today. If things go really bad, the survivors might overrun a karak.

That said, if this was the only time the Eye of Gazul ever fired then every favor and resource put into it would still have been worth it. So good job there.

why would the dwarf gods be bickering and not Gork and Mork the famously bickering ork gods
Because they are siblings? It seemed to be framed as good-natured bickering to me.

Also, why would orks be avoiding a good fight? Gork and Mork would be bickering over who gets authority over the remnant army that may still be coming at us through the caves.

And... almost certainly Sigmar. Angry, brooding and indecisive but with no real pieces in this particular game except for Mathilde, the scar of a past failure of his.
Huh, that is actually plausible. I'd thought maybe Horned Rat, but this is probably better.
Could also be some Elf God that was in some way involved with Bok's creation.

anyone with common sense
I believe I have found your problem.

Gork and Mork are brothers who famously keep fighting each other couse Orks. also they we're saying who would deal with the problem not who would fight.

Because last time they got involved in Mathilde's business they lost some of their divine essence? And shortly before that she inverted a Waaagh so that it killed the shamans and left all the other orcs bereft?

There's a good fight and then there's putting yourself in a position where you might get stolen from, while being reminded of the time your brother tried to betray you...

It makes me wonder if we might see some Waagh backlash here. In effect it's like half of the Waagh just suddenly disappeared so I'm imagining the energy almost stumbling at this point, with the orks pulling too hard on it.

260000 Greenskins, to take over a defended Karak while panicked, a Karak which is defended by Anvils of Doom and the Eye, not to mention artillery and archers galore...yeah, I'm not seeing it.

Mathilde Weber, so powerful brutal and cunning that not even gods want to deal with her.

And not to forget that-
also most of them are snotlings
-this.

I want to give the halflings the honour just so we can send word back to Mr "Die Well" that he needn't bother, the halflings finished off the Waaagh that had him so scared...

... I am really curious if it is possible for a Dwarf to spontaneously combust out of pure shame?

Daidar listened with half an ear to the chorus of reports as he gazed across the starlit caldera. He could see pricks of light blazing forth from the blackness of the mountains. All sharing the same moment of respite. It was a strange feeling. Knowing what those pricks of light meant. Yesterday, he would have wondered what fresh horror was lurking on the mountains.

I like it! It feels very much like a movie scene, and you've got the feel of exhausted predawn work. I am curious about the dwarf, however- I would have loved to get a little more context for his ponderings. (Where is he from? Where was he in the battle yesterday? Was he, too, one of the little lights visible from across the caldera?)

The halflings are going to be so happy! They don't have to haul the corpses very far to fertilize the caldera!

Credit where credit is due, a good chunk one my omake was inspired by this.

I worry about Mhonar. Its entrance is outside the scope of the Eye and it's defended entirely by crossbows; no gunpowder weapons because Kazador isn't used to them. Granted that's a lot of sharp wood shafts to put into the air, but tens of thousands of panicked orcs rushing down the tunnel could do the thing where each of them picks up a comrade and uses them as a shield for the entire run and then you've got half of tens of thousands of orcs crashing into a melee with Kazador's Throng.

The Mhonar approach is also guarded by the artillery of the Citadel, its quarellers, and a pair of Anvils of Doom wielded by the greatest Runelords of the Karaz Ankor. Also, don't undersell Kazador, the man is our most powerful detachment.
