COMBAT FRIZZLE TIME
[X] Try to find your Ducklings and fight by their side.
Or, if Mathilde trusts them, we can play rearguard
[X] Leave Karagril to see if any other factions are intervening.

[X] Set it to the Protector, so that all will know your exploits.
Anyone in thread knows how does one of the combat focused Bloodline Vampire Lords speed stack up to that Speed of Light gives us?
Going by 8th edition Vampire Lords have WS 7 and I7, while speed of light bumps us up to 10 in both WS and I. Note however that vampiric gifts can bump WS by 2 and grant the VL Always Strikes First, which trumps I 10, so a combat focused VL would still be able to keep up even when we have Speed of Light active.

A bit Late, dude

Gotcha.

So, by my read of the current situation there's not a huge need to go after the remaining bosses. It certainly wouldn't hurt if the two semi-competent leaders got ganked, but it's probably not going to be the difference between victory and defeat.

Maybe we should take up that new fad among the younger nobles that came out of Bretonnia, parkour? I think it's call.

More seriously, we just learned something about the coin, that it stops working once enough destabilizing is done to a town.

It's definitely better at looking and stealing then it is with assassinating it or sabotage.

Just in case for Mathilde interrupt, our duckling should be fine consider how weaken the orcs are due to the numbers of allies that will overwhelm them and that they're way behind sellswords and Karak Azul.
Safer fighting for baby ducks!

That's the second time this turn we've almost bit it, by the way.

To be more precise we have rolled 3 times 1s in high danger situation this turn.

Who has pissed off Ranald? Because those rolls suck.

I think we should keep an eye on, well...
On how everyone else in the 'hood reacts to dwarfs marching through the valley to Karagril.

Should check on Skaven.

No more trying to solo the fucking mountain. No more starting brawls without an exit set up. Join up with friendlies or get out altogether.

Orcs are in total chaos with the leadership picks being Bad, Worse and Worst, no more help needed.

Really hoping to get some use out of Waaaghbane this turn, teach them to fear and distrust their own casters.
Of course, it could be that they already learned that and that's why there were no shamans here.

I mean, we survived so that means our items are working as expected. If we didn't have those items, we'd probably see something similar to Abeheim's death. Now we can make sure it doesn't happen again by having an escape route (maybe grab an item of Smoke and Shadows) and boosting our intrigue skills. (which would be mostly spells)

Yeah, they don't need more destabilization to their leadership structure when they're in a four-way civil war. We did what we came to do.

[ ] Lurk in the shadows and strike down isolated Orcs whenever you get an opportunity.
[ ] Wait until battle begins in earnest and then take the Orcs by surprise.
[ ] Try to find your Ducklings and fight by their side.
[ ] Watch, wait, and see how things play out.
These four options all seem geared to "making the fight within Karagril better on our team." I don't think the first one is a good use of our time, isolated orcs that aren't high-value targets seem like a waste. Taking them by surprise when they engage our forces for real seems much better, since we can boost our sellswords' morale and do some murderblending. Finding the Ducklings continues the support of our team in Karagril, but specifically watching over those three. I don't think this is a good use of our time and may foster resentment. Sitting back and watching keeps us in reserve in case anything gets weird or bad for anyone during the process, but I feel the Karagril greenskins are a sufficiently known quantity that a proactive approach is better.

[ ] Leave Karagril to see if any other factions are intervening.
However, there are a bunch of unknown quantities, and they are the other Karags. If we're going to play guard dog anywhere, we should play it here. While our Citadel reaction force is super strong, we are, in fact, the designated Weird Shit Person on team Karak Eight Peaks, and we literally have no idea what might be in some of those peaks.

So my tl;dr is that if you want Mathilde to be aggressive/proactive, go for [ ] Wait until battle begins in earnest and then take the Orcs by surprise., and if you want her to be cautious/reactive, vote for [ ] Leave Karagril to see if any other factions are intervening.

As far as mission impact goes, we maybe didn't quite annihilate enemy resistance as during Lhune adventure, but we still were massively successful overall. No central leadership, hundreds to - optimistic estimation - thousands of orcs dead.

[X] Wait until battle begins in earnest and then take the Orcs by surprise.

Personal preference is to continue fighting, and this seems to be like the best way to support the sellswords.

[X] Try to find your Ducklings and fight by their side.

Let's get into the mountain before we go haring off for something else. The Orcs splitting all each ways means that they're going to serve as a useful crumple zone going forward while not providing exceptional resistance to our own assault.
