Since I am ok with all leading socials, I feel no need to vote there.

By the way, why are there so many votes for The Festival Lord? Is it just to keep up-to-date with internal Laurelon politics, or is there some other reason I'm missing that makes it a particularly enticing option?

I mean, it sounds super fun, is relevant to the political situation and perhaps most importantly, will not show up again since it's a specific event. We can talk to Sarvoi next turn and it likely won't make a difference in what he has to say...The Festival Lord will just not be an option if we miss it.

Something I have not seem mentioned is that we still have the reward for the Fog Bridge coming up, that is pretty big and trade related (though not offering military advantage), we can use that to expand the EIC into Laurlorn.

Presumably the time-limited nature (we can try again next turn, but there will be changes)?
Though I think the Druchii Diplomats is more sensitive considering the context of them appearing - might need to keep an eye on what's going on with them and be aware if they want to try something regarding Waystones.

Did the last vampire holdouts in Sylvania finally get killed?
I think most of the visible vampires of Sylvania have been cleared out, but there's probably still a handful of holdouts that are not worth taking out. But I'd definitely assume the older, actually smart vampires went to ground when the Battle Wizards arrived. It's still in dire need of waystones, but we can safely say it's safer than it's been in a long, long time.
I believe Sylvania has been officially pacified with the appointment of the Markgraf of Easterb Stirland. The war is basically over and the last vampire holdouts were crushed, it's just the hard part of keeping the order against underground cultists and insurgency now.

I could have sworn there were still a few sieges going on. The position existed to allow roswita to refocus on stirland Rather than as any kind of declaration that the pacification was complete as I recall.

One of our jobs had we taken it would have been to ensure the last of the vampires were taken care of. It's been awhile though so I might be misremembering.

There's no open resistance to human rule at this point, but as was pointed out when we talked to Petreu about him helping develop the quick draw, there's still loads of vampires hidden away all throughout the area.

The sieges ended with more of a whimper than a bang iirc. With one of the vampires fleeing and the other getting worn down and taken out.

Thinking on it, A pretty much complete Elven library might be the thing that would really get the Karak Eight Peaks on the minds of Scholars as somewhere worth visiting.

Yeah, imo it's the kind of situation that will stay open for a long time, right until it doesn't and it ends up causing problems.

While I deeply appreciate the sentiment, I'd like to note that canals are an extremely new development and not nearly established enough to work for the world-rhythm that river leylines are based on.
Thats what i am saying? If it never gets done, it will never happen. If dwarves approached their Karak Runing with this sentiment, their shard of network would never happen. They literally created system that now does not need the infrastructure that spawned it anymore.

Like, for sure, it will take centuries, if not millenia, for the natural flow to establish itself. But thats why i said what i said. Best time yesterday, second best time now.

She's thirty-six at the time, so it's unclear whether she's saying "young" in the sense of "a young man" or in the sense of "young for a Magister". My money is on the latter; regardless, it kind of feels implied that he's younger than she is, or at least appears to be? Something something magic is a great preservative something.
Can´t wait until Mathilde uses "Beardling" in internal narrative so that these questions are forever more answered conclusively.

I imagine a large part of it is the sense of urgency - the festivals come around once every four years, so if we miss them now we can't see them for eight turns at least. It's a pretty unique event, and there's apparently something like wrestling culture surrounding the event, so I think it'll be a good time.

One thing you might not remember is that the current champion of the Queen - the one who won the previous festival (and the one before that) - is Kadoh, one of the first Eonir we met. He is, uh...
the Queen's Champion, Kadoh. He is..." He hesitates. "Skilled in many things," he eventually says.
We could all do with a little more Kadoh in our lives, I think. Johann has been hogging all of the Kadoh scenes, it's past time for Mathilde to get some too.

Uh yeah wow. Laurelorn letting us copy pretty much their entire library short of "10 step Plan Nordland Can Take to Fuck US Over" documents--including other militarily relevant stuff and outright ancient shit like memoirs of an Everqueen who was around to see the Polar Gates be formed--sounds amazing. Sure money can get cool shit, but this is like direct cool shit and somehow I doubt event a boatload of the finest Eonir gems will get anywhere near this level of secrets in Ulthuan.

Mathilde spends a lot of her time doing magical research into deep lore, since and presumably most of the thread finds that fascinating. Why wouldn't I want to take something that would make getting good results on those (vs who knows shrug) more likely mechanically and narratively? Like damn look at what a big deal Deathfangs spoken bedtime story was and how neat the Elementalist books were.

You pull up to the proper milestone and run your eyes over the swamp, and see nothing but murky water and vegetation in all directions. Just as you were wondering if you might be early or late, "galri hadri," comes a voice from nowhere, and a leanly-muscled Elf steps out of a clump of shrubs that you could have sworn were too low to conceal anyone.
I expect that any meeting with Alith Anar will begin like this.

We still have the option in turn votes to go take part in the Pacification of East Stirland, so it's not completely done and dusted to the point Mathilde doesn't think she can meaningfully contribute.
It's just not really a priority.
