I know nothing about the lore BUT! comparing sentient fungi to fungus and giant rats to rats is totally not ok.

Fuck sake.
It's the second half of that sentence that is important. Planning their extermination is not kosher, whatever they are. You are getting your panties in a twist over nothing.

Yes it may be kind of ignorant to make judgements without knowing any context or caring about context for that matter...

But they are a mod, they are allowed to.

And You know whats much dumber still?

You risking getting the thread locked over it.

So shush up, stop arguing with the mods, and just accept it.

Her decision to fire us was not an impulsive decision. She knew about us and likely had decided to fire us long before we met. It seems impulsive to us given how suddenly it happened but suddenness is not always impulsive.
I'm sorry but this is categorically wrong. She had every right to remove us from our position as adviser. She did it with out wanting us to wind down our operations to give any reports or even before she knew anything about the situation at hand. That's disgustingly impulsive. She did so in such a way that any one not categorically loyal to the empire would have gone "Fine fuck you then" We could have walked off with the Runefang and done so much damage if we wanted to be petty.

So was he just slumming so he could poke skaven tech?
More specifically, so that he wouldn't have to waste precious research time wrangling the Journeymen of other Orders, which he probably would've been pressured into if Mathilde were more of a stereotypical Grey Wizard and sought to avoid attention.

I've always sort of been of the mind that Roswita is actually a puppet of the Witch Hunters, who exploit the prejudices and fears they've themselves instilled in her to keep control of her. As an organisation they care very little for the overall stability or usefulness of places or people, as long as they can remove the evil, or what they perceive to be evil, that dwells there.

So they're currently going ham on Sylvania, damn the consequences.

Oh my, the Steward vote is a lot further away from winning than I thought. Better vote, then.

[X] Steward

I wonder if we can leverage some favor to provide some expert gunsmiths to the new rifle factory? Not to steal secrets but to improve production methods and stuff? After all the more money the EIC makes the faster our debt is paid.

I think we need to get the EIC in control. Start by accidenting (or maybe just embarrassing) the steward in favor of someone not Deiter IV-like. Then make sure Wilhelmina's kids aren't planning an early inheritance. Crucially, you and Wilhelmina are the only competent people at the top, so finding a successor is very important. Maybe Anton's wife will be good?

It isn't necessarily impulsive but it is bad management.

Wait, I'm not the best with Warhammer lore, but aren't skaven literally ratmen?

*Googles*

Yeah, I don't know how to describe that as anything other than a ratman.

Maybe mouseman? But idk what the difference is between rat and mouse.

What a weird facade to keep up he should have known the jig was up when a grey wizard showed up it's not like they wouldn't report who was on the expedition

It's bad management driven by her bigotry towards wizards, I suppose it's possible it wasn't an impulsive decision and one that was thought out and reasoned in advance but that actually some how makes it even worse. it's one thing to fuck up with an impulsive decision but if your thought out decisions are that garbage maybe the grey wizards need to sort out a replacement elector count for the good of the empire.

They are, and the orcs are fungi but let's drop it alright? Before the thread gets locked.

They are very explicitely ratmen. They pray to the Horned Rat. Their most numerous warriors are called clanrats. They have ratling guns, for fuck's sake!

They are rats and they are proud of it!

Edit: and now I am getting carried away. Shutting up. In fact, going to sleep - I should have done this long ago.

[x] 'Head Ranger' (Spymaster), Internal Focus

I think Anton can actually bring something to the table here. The man has accomplished diplomatic miracles in the past, lets bring that magic by Karak Eight Peaks on the semi regular and see what wonders he can work.

Also makes Mathilde feel much better about her biological clock, one less thing to stress about.

As for the other matter.
I want to secure the rest of the Karak and soon. With Mathilde at the head, I feel we can do that quickly and rather cheaply in terms of lives lost in the endeavor.

Also gives us a stopping point in the future. If the entire Karak is retaken in the next decade and the Skaven city beneath it is dealt with as well her job is essentially accomplished. Then we can reevaluate and move on to another set of goals.

Outside threats? Economic growth? Court Wizard advising? No definite end goals there by comparison.

Mathilde is basically a sword hanging over the EIC, and Wilhelmina knows it. We might be friends but notice how many times she made sure to stress that everything was legal and above board, especially when Mathilde started worring. So long as she's in charge it shouldn't be an issue.

I think it was suggested very early on that it might be a sort of legal fiction due to the Conspiracy of Silence. Journeyman Johann sends in reports about ratmen with advanced technology that obviously get laughed out as the overexuberance and imagination of youth, while Magister Johann gets nods behind closed doors about the Skaven, which are kept more quiet.
