No lead time necessary, you can do it in the same turn you want the money for. There'd still be money changing hands but the EIC wouldn't have a problem with estimating the eventual profit and just giving Mathilde a big bag of gold in advance.
Oh good. I do hope we take that action this turn - it's just so convenient being rich, even before considering having funds for Lothern.

Keep in mind that Wilhemina basically went from having two donkey's and a mule to running a merchant conglomerate that would probably qualify for a seat on the Directorate if it was in Marianburg.

The Bursar probably has at least three "Mathilde Exceptions".
I like to think that the bursar is just occasionally checking estimated yearly EIC profit against money spent on books, then shrugging. That or imagining Mathilde flinging cash away from herself in fear of the awesome power of the audit.

I'd like to think it's actually closer to a bingo sheet and it's only a problem if she gets a five squares in a row.

Thus far, the Bursar has got "book that was surprisingly popular overseas", "incredible dwarven windfall", and her free spot in the middle is "she has a trade company". She thought she was going to get "her trade company nearly caused war with Marienburg", but on balance, the blame there could be shared with Zhufbar and Barak Varr. And she nearly got "dwarf lent her money in jewels and then walked off into the Chaos Wastes, without asking for the money back", but when he came back as a Slayer Mathilde cleverly weaseled out by doing a thing called 'being honorable'. Overall it has not been a good game for the Bursar.

Sneaky, that Lady Magister Mathilde. That's probably why she was promoted.

Isn't that still a step down for her? Once upon a time, she was in charge of the finances of an entire Imperial province.
In Stirland, Wilhelmina had her actions limited to doing what Abelhelm thought best, and while he had a lot of good qualities, high Stewardship was not one of them. The war effort sucked a lot of money away, and I don't imagine Wilhelmina really liked that, deep in her soul.

But now, despite Mathilde being the bigger shareholder, Wilhelmina is effectively the leader and can basically do anything as long as it doesn't make her friends look at her funny... I guess, in a way, it's a bit (just a bit!) like how the Waystone Project is technically beholden to Queen Marrisith due to it being headquartered in Laurelorn, but Mathilde is still the one actually running everything and no one tells her what she should actually be doing.

So the question becomes: is there a platypus large enough that you can ride it into battle?
This is WHFB version of Australia. Of course there is. The big question is: is anyone actually going to live long enough to try and tame one.
essage verbally rather than carrying anything so civilized as a letter.
That is most likely going to be one of those Altdorf pigeons. All rude and smug and fat with Ghur.
Huh, I wonder if the Damsels or Ice witches are going to be multi gendered as well. Or if we'll get an all male order of wizards somewhere to balance out the three all female ones in the setting.
In earlier (and usually ignored by the fans) lore Colleges were if not all-male then at least heavily male dominated. But I doubt GW will keep that.
IIRC the Druchii's Doomfire Warlocks are male-only, which is why Malekith cursed the hell out of them.
Other way round: doomfire warlocks were cursed because they were male sorcerers from before Malekith banned those.
How convenient that Mathilde's fine with giving Mathilde lots of money.
Hey. It is only 35% Mathilde's choice to give Nathilde lots of money. :V

We gotta get that number up. It is a rookie number.:V

Well, yes, Dame Weber is fine with loaning Lady Magister Weber lots of money from the coffers of Thane Weber, with interest being owed to EIC Chairwoman Weber.

High Priestess Weber and Godmother Weber are still a secret, however, and thus must steer clear of such creative interpretation of the Vow of Poverty.

"I swear I don't know why these fish keep jumping onto the ship! I just want to research things and cut enemies in half with my amazing runed gromril sword!"

*Bursar raises eyebrow*

"Look, the custom-built Gyrocarriage is just so that I can keep juggling all of my obligations and relationships across the Old World. It's of direct use to my mission. It was highly expensive, but I paid for part of the cost in lots of dead greenskins and Skaven. Dwarves love that sort of thing."

*Bursar raises other eyebrow*

"And I'll have you know that having that giant reading room to let an Emperor Dragon come and visit was of academic value!"

"That kind of sheer luck seems rather unlikely."

"I'm a devout Ranaldian. I'm half-convinced He rigs things in my favor just to get amusement out of how absurd my life is."

"...yes, that checks out."

The definitions for that sort of thing seem to be extremely biased in favour of anything that can be convinced to accept a rider. There's a lot of creatures with explicitly Chaotic origins that are treated as noble and good. So the question becomes: is there a platypus large enough that you can ride it into battle?
This entire line of questioning has suddenly given me an intense curiosity: does anywhere in Kislev have mammoths?

I know Chaos does, but I'm wondering if kislev has ever managed to jack their rides well enough to keep a stable for important people the same way important people in the empire can request a gryphon.

@Boney if we do go with Ithilmar trade can be keep some of it back in lieu of a part of the proceeds? I ask in service of the 'get Mathilde Ithilmar armour she can cast in' I've had for... 4 years IRL now I think. :V

Figured it was at least worth the ask.

No. Kislev's terrain doesn't support natural mammoths and they wouldn't have anything to do with the carnivorous ones.

I don't think the resultant patchwork of armour from a dozen different sets, none of which fit Mathilde properly, are quite the aesthetic you're looking for.

"Unfortunately that makes this a case of bylaw § 65.12, which explicitely outlaws Divine Intervention as a way to bypass the other laws."

"But Ranald isn't a proscribed deity!"

"And a good thing He isn't, that would've made it a case of § 5.7, and the penalty for that one is much worse."

It wouldn't be the first time Dwarves have encountered Ithilmar. Dwarven smiths, runesmiths, and metallurgists have tried many, many times to learn its secrets, and have failed every time.

Fair, I seem to recall you said they would try so I assumed they had some hope of success, but I'm not about to go 'aha' and try to hold you to a post in 2018 or something crazy like that.
