@Boney What kind of stuff was Regimand doing as a regular Magister when Mathilde was apprenticed to him?

He did spend a bit of time on one-on-one instruction, but most of the time was spent assisting with his research and translations, tagging along on adventures within Altdorf, performing solo projects and research tasks he directed her on, and listening to his stories.

also @Boney just to ask if this is even possible when the silk starts flowing.

What are you asking, exactly? I think I might be missing something, because Mathilde has enchanted robes for herself and performed Winderherding enchanting before and I don't see why you'd need QM approval to start speculating about doing so again.

Mostly if all this together would be to complicated? Too much? But seeing myself type it out it's really not.
So I apologize for bothering you have with unimportant things.

I was going to ask what was it Regimand was translating that Mathilde was helping with, but then I remembered that the Grey College teaches Eltharin, so it's probably a mixture of language practice and decoding secret communications.

Eike's education

Dice 1: What is she best at?
Dice 2: What does she want to be best at?
Dice 3: What is she having trouble with?

1 - Diplomacy / 2 - Martial / 3 - Stewardship / 4 - Intrigue / 5 - Piety / 6 - Learning
Boney threw 3 6-faced dice. Total: 11
4 4 6 6 1 1

1) its made out of we silk for maximum damage resistance and comfort
2) we ask the elven artisans to weave it into the final form.
3) we ask Cython for some of his scales for the Pauldrons (might need to see if thats even feasable, might need to negotiate)
4) we use a ulgu powerstone as the brooch
5) we ask for some Gromril inlays for the style
6) for enchanting we of course use Aethric armour but we also now know windhearding so i looked for any good spells to combine it with (there are not many, i tell you)
I largely agree with this, but I'd put a bit more emphasis on the windherding. When we made the current robes, Mathilde expressed the opinion that she wasn't taking full advantage of the Ulgu power stone's capacities; I'd assume that's because Aethyric Armor is Lesser Magic, so even with the Mastery integrated it's a bit overkill - there should be some room in there for a little extra, but Ulgu has little in terms of direct protection - the closest thing I can think of is Shroud of Invisibility or our Dread Aspect's Mastery.

So I'm very partial to windherding possibilities, after we actually gain more experience in that.

For Relatively Simple defensive spells in addition to the ones you suggested, there's Guard of Steel from Chamon. Unfortunately I can't really see any other RS spells being useful enough to include in armor proper. Overall there's a many effects that either are redundant with own magic or magic items (Cauterize or Earth's Blood for healing, Death's Messenger for intimidation), or otherwise too situational for us to see much use (Tree-Dweller's Step for climbing, or Death Sight for seeing spirits).
Guard of Steel: Shimmering orbs of steel orbit and protect the caster for several minutes.

Moderately Complicated offers way more options, assuming it's viable.

(Aqshy) Hearts of Fire: Makes your allies resistant to fear.
(Hysh) Radiant Sentinel: A ball of light floats around you and can parry for you.
(Chamon) Rigidity of Body and Mind: You gain resistance to mental and physical damage for several minutes, but find it harder to change your mind during this time.
(Shyish) Acceptance of Fate: Make allies around you fearless for a minute.
(Shyish) Ward Against Abomination: Undead cannot approach you. Intelligent or especially powerful undead can resist the effect.
(Ghur) The Boar's Hide: Your skin becomes tough as a boar's.
(Ghyran) Leaf Fall: Spinning leaves partly conceal you, making it hard to aim ranged attacks at you for several minutes.
(Azyr) Third Portent of Amul: Rerolls a critical hit against you during the next 24 hours. Only one instance can be active at a time.

Whoops, I misunderstood the rolls. I thought she was best at Intrigue, was worst at Diplomacy, and really wanted to be good at Martial.

Not sure how I came to that conclusion.

We are getting a mini-mathilde. But shallayan. @Boney. How religious is Eike? Do we need to fear that she will throw herself into ... Uhhh... I guess the horned rats? Plan and divert power to shallayan?

I'm guessing this means Eike completed her apprenticeship early then? I'm not sure why I'm surprised by that, Wilhemina seemed to think it likely.

Also another grey wizard who dumped Diplo. Good thing Mathlide can teach her how to use her other stats as substitute. Nobody will ever know we're a pair of dorks who don't know how to speak to people.

(well, except Pan, of course).

Hey, diplomacy is hard. And in real life, you don't have the consolation of knowing it was probably just low rolls and not because you have a -150 malus in a system where each +5 must be viciously clawed towards.

I was already thinking that we'd probably want to emphasize Windsight to Eike a lot, but those rolls for what she's good/interested/bad in make me think that even moreso.

Also, I wonder if Eike has any Arcane Marks?

More to the point, has she gotten herself a pet snake yet, or would that be something she'd need help with?
For crying out loud she isn't even an apprentice yet, slow down. She's not going to be doing anything with enough power to get an Arcane Mark or spawn an Apparition.

Yeah, this is silly. Either take the class next turn and accept Eike as an apprentice afterwards, or don't have anything to do with apprenticeships at all. No need to half-ass it over non-time-sensitive actions we're going to get to doing eventually anyway, just because something something action order arrangement something something.

Personally, I want to take Eike as an apprentice, but the apprentice course doesn't interest me much.

I feel like I'd Mathilde basing herself on her own experiences with Regimand and her own concept of apprenticeship (which might or might not by influenced by Dwarven standarts) would be more to my taste than going to a teaching class (and the research Boney will probably do if we choose the option).

If we choose to take a class, we will probably have a more grounded approach, but I'd rather read about Mathilde winging it. If it becomes a problem and we DO end up having problems teaching Eike (we flub a roll or something) we can always go take the course later on reactively. But I think most likely we don't really NEED to take the class to teach Eike properly.
