Taking the game seven minutes in heaven to a whole other direction I see.

Sexual attraction aside, who is the best and worst divine to spend the game with assuming you can go the talking route?

Best would be Morr I think, very chill in a coffin like place and would probably love to talk to you about interesting dreams.

Worst? maybe Horned one? with rats in enclosed space, Nurgle is a no go and Slaanesh is the type who will spite make noises just to embarrass you, non chaos would probably be Ranald amusingly enough.
out of the good gods. Shallya would be the worst.

she would spend the whole time crying on your shoulder as you awcueredly pat her back saying 'its ok, its ok.'

If you like it rough, Khorne or Ulric would be awesome😏

I commissioned my brother to do a thing, so as a result, here is the work of my brother @bluebirdhay (twitter handle).

A few comments about the process:

My brother has absolutely no idea who Qrech is and what Divided Loyalties is and I gave up explaining it to him. That being said, he's done a bang up job drawing Qrech without having much knowledge of the character outside of what I gave him. I am however, of the firm belief that an artist should have the right to be creative and create little embellishments, and a lot of what I like about this art is the result of those embellishments.

I didn't ask for those piercings, but they are absolutely lovely. I have this image in my head now of Qrech asking mathilde for clothes and accessories that make him look more sophisticated and fashionable, essentially making him look like the Grey Seers and Emissaries of the Council in the comfort that he managed to find himself.

Also, obligatory Skufit is absolutely adorable. Spaniels are cute.

Another thing, lore afficionados might ask why Qrech's fur is grey when that's a Grey Seer thing. The reason is that grey fur is cool and aesthetically pleasing. I love grey rats.

Riveting discussion about Sigmar's penis aside, I wonder if Cathay has any Waystone-related knowledge of their own? They'd be a nightmare to get in touch with, but they have an advanced and unique magical paradigm and cover a large stretch of land at the right latitude for Waystones to have noticeable effects.

Maybe they'd make a good stretch goal for reaching out for Waystone knowledge (though outright involvement in the project might be difficult, given the extraordinary distances involved.)

Depends if they have any waystones. It's certainly not impossible, but I'm unsure the Elves ever expanded into the area, and if they didn't any waystones they'd have would be notably different at best from the ones Mathilde is assembling the expertise to work on.

Honest question here, is there any confirmation of Waystones existing outside of Ulthuan and the Old World? I feel like that's the only context I've ever heard them in.

*Looks at wiki*

Seems like there's a couple mentions of them being around the world, but nothing remotely specific.

One assumes they exist in the various High Elven colonies and outposts, and IIRC, they used to be around in Naggaroth before the Druchii destroyed them.

I'm not sure about waystones, but I'm pretty sure the Far East has sections of the Geomantic Web. Khuresh has a "Lost City of the Old Ones" that indicate that the Old Ones had some work done on that section of the world. Maybe the Web is focused on Khuresh and it doesn't reach into Cathay, but I think that Cathay at least has their own version of the waystones to harness the leylines of energy. There's also the Lost Isles of Elithis, which is an archipelago that contains two High Elven colonies that the Sea Elves inhabit (Sea Elves aren't a separate group, they're just sailor high elves). There's Tor Elithis and Tower of the Rising Sun.

Now, that doesn't mean Cathay are involved in the waystones in those isles if they exist, but I think there are likely to be waystones there at least.

I feel I should point out that the Geomantic Web and the Waystones don't have the same result. The Web is a method of transferring power between temple-cities. The Elves just built the Waystone network over the top to send all the energy to the Vortex (Huh. I wonder if the Network is what causes the Slann to be so sleepy, because it's redirecting all their energy away).

It's mentioned that the Slann sleep a lot because they astral project into the Aethyr to fight chaos and keep it from being as powerful as it should be. At least in 8th edition Lizardmen book, which loves talking about how the Slann have saved the world a dozen times behind the scene but no one talks about it (they apparently stabilised the Vortex when it was first formed, helped make sure it didn't break during the Sundering, and stopped Chaos from being as powerful as it should have been during the Great War against Chaos).

I can't find anything saying they're fighting chaos like that, but even so the same book also talks about how the Slann are being fucked over by an enchantment that saps their energy (and may or may not make it harder for them to think), as well as how there's a "mind miasma" that's affecting them. It seems pretty clear that there's something affecting them.

This is thoroughly precious.
I don't know what you have in store for Qrech, but I will say that a large part of what motivated me to commission this is because I feel he doesn't have much left timespan wise. If Qrech dies, as most living beings tend to, then I want to remember him in this manner. Writing his book about the best methods to destroy the Chaos Dwarves while petting his beloved dog and companion.

Qrech isn't a "good guy". But that doesn't matter now. I want to focus on the parts of him that drew me to like him in the first place, at least in remembrance of him when he does pass away. I greatly appreciate the strong feelings your story gave me on this fictional rat man.
