I'd assume the actual shaving is part of initiation, as part of ritually severing all ties with their past life, as they forswear familial bonds and cast away their belongings. Those who double down to deliberately stay bald, those whose hair growth is then stunted by Shyish , and those who just regrow a new mop afterwards are individual choice.

Hello everyone again)

I had a couple of questions and my searches, unfortunately, did not give an answer. So maybe there are knowledgeable people here.

1. I am haunted by the question of rejuvenation. In a conversation with the Empress, she said that with offerings and good relations with God, he may well roll back age. Is it generally spread out? It's just such an opportunity and it seems that no one is using it. Like a rejuvenated count or an old witch hunter.
Is this possible for Matilda?
I know this is a small question, but it haunts me)

2. In general, strictly in theory, is it possible to decipher the work of stones? I realized from Wikipedia and the explanations here that they are extremely important on the eve of the End Times, but I doubt that even by uniting a whole bunch of people, Matilda will be able to do a lot.
Like, yes, you have gathered, well, or will you try to gather people with different points of view, but is that enough? Even in theory, don't lizardmen need at least?
The question is, to what extent does the author assess the reality of the possibility of achieving something meaningful?

3. To be honest, I don't even know how to correctly formulate this question.
Um ... will there be divine quests from Ranald?
Just seeing how close Matilda is to her patron, I was a little surprised that he did not give her any tasks. Perhaps I misunderstand the religion in the world of Warhammer (Well, or Ronald himself as a god.

I don't know if this has already been dropped here. But I was looking for world maps to write my fanfiction and came across this.
Detailed map of the world with the possibility of zooming.

Hmm, it seems I was wrong. The thread doesn't want dwarf haircare stories, it wants wizard haircare stories.

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't expect dwarfs to lose a beard contest.

Bah. Of couse we are primarily interested in the affairs of our own (-ish? Do the dwarfs have a concept of sister-guilds?) guild. It's a dwarf thing.

When you use a giant dragon as a chair, you get to have any hairstyle you want.
No explanation for the beard.
It's also worth mentioning that Elspeth (or her mother, grandmother etc, ) never actually agreed to join the Amethyst order. Everyone just agreed that it wasn't worth trying to force her to do anything and give her a title to save face.

she never actually made any oaths or took part in any rituals or exams.

it literally was

'Look, I'll wear your silly robes, now go away I'm busy'

'thank you for your understanding Lady Elspeth'

... years later.

'By Morr, your even more a mess then most years. Fine, give me that seat... and go make me a cup of tea!'

'Yes Lady Elspeth, very good Lady Elspeth, your too kind... one suger or two?'

... ok maybe not that much, she needed to sure up some of her power, but still going from outsider to boss just because she wanted to... kind of shows who has the pants in that relationship.

I assume they do, but only in the context of an overarching guild. Like, they have a Smithing Guild and then there are groups within that who focus on blacksmithing vs goldsmithing and so on. Not 100% sure though.

Elspeth joined the Amethyst Order as an Apprentice, same as everyone else. She doesn't care about the politics, so she stays in Nuln and does her own thing, but she's not just been given a title for convenience.

between religious and secular that the other collages do, and that only the really devout shave everything.
But Morrite priests and monks don't usually shave everything, do they?

So if you're correct that would mean that within the Amethyst Order there is a dedicated Morrite splinter sect with its own beliefs that aren't really widespread outside the College.
Only in Warhammer is that not a big bad villain.

I mean, really, do you want to tell the person who can throw fireballs/summon a scythe made out of death/turn you into solid gold/smite you with a thunderbolt/turn into a wolf and rip out your throat/strangle you with thorns/erase your memory/blind you with holy radiance that they can't style their hair however they wish?

College Rolodex
Do you struggle to remember the members of the Colleges of Magic in Divided Loyalties, and wish there was a resource that listed them all and who they are? Then you're in luck, because I spent way too much time on this. Please tell me if I missed anyone or made any mistakes.

Patriarchs:
Dragomas: 21st, 22nd, 23rd and now 24th Supreme Patriarch, as well as Wild Father of the Amber Order. Travelled to the Far East through the Dark Lands and negotiated a non-aggression pact with Cathay's Emperor as a Journeyman, leading him to be instantly promoted to Lord Magister after returning. Became Amber Patriarch after hatching and raising the Imperial Dragon in the Imperial Zoo, and achieved Supreme Patriarch after turning into a Celestial Dragon during the Duels. Fought for the rights of Battle Wizards, greatly improving their life and gaining their loyalty, and he spends a lot of time in the Imperial Zoo. Can casually turn into a Celestial Dragon with Transformation of Kadon and he's stronger than a regular dragon transformation, making him dominant in combat. As the Supreme Patriarch, he is the Emperor's Court Wizard and advisor to all matters magical. He finds the trappings of civilisation often overbearing and unnecessary, such as with some of the necessary paperwork that is foisted on to him.

Dragomas is always half naked, with furs serving as "pants" after he was eventually convinced that he should do that. He has wiry, lean muscles and tanned skin from a lifetime spent under the sun, and has long dark hair and beard.
Paranoth the Wanderer: 19th Supreme Patriarch, defeating Alric once before being defeated by him next term. Known as the Wanderer, a title he lives up to as it is said he walked every road in the Old World, Araby and Ind. Believed by many to be powerful enough to be Supreme Patriarch but lacking inclination to do so.

Long bearded figure with faded clothes, he looks like an old man but has a constant invigorating energy released from him and a passive absorption of Ghyran into him. Very well travelled and pragmatic, he has a focus on what is useful now. Tends to go on tangents as his mind wanders. Does not believe in the Old Faith and has a vested interest in ensuring the traditionalist faction in his Order does not hold back the Jade Order's progress as an institution.

Paranoth is extremely knowledgable in a number of different matters as a result of his well travelled nature. How exactly he came across such thorough knowledge of Drycha, the Ancients and Athel Loren is unknown, but he provided enough knowledge to Mathilde that not only could she determine who the Branchwraith she split was, but what her motive and goal was likely to be..
Norbert Reichtard: Described as "not a risk taker". Has to constantly clarify that he has no relation to Screaming Lord Reichtard, infamous Lord Magister of the Bright Order known for being the first person to be Pacified.
Maria Stossel: High affinity to Mystical Azyr, unpredictable. Tuned in to high society, possible relation to canonical character Ludwig Stossel.
Elspeth von Draken: Incredibly frightening and powerful Wizard that was forced to assume her position after Hexensohn's sudden death. Has possession of a Shyish aligned Carmine Dragon and might have an hourglass containing the ashes of a dead god (she does in canon at least). Shrouded in rumor and mystery, she commutes between Altdorf and her home city of Nuln on dragon back.
Algard: Most people don't even know he's the Grey Patriarch, as he faked his death and people still think Olorin is the Patriarch. Creator of Algard's Screaming Towers, teleporting towers that are immensely attractive to chaos hordes, necromancers and general forces of destruction, which inevitably leads them all to a series of ambushes. Has a series of banners in his office of groups that have been successfully ambushed by his machinations. Eccentric, does lots of paperwork and has a lot of scattered ability with space manipulation using Ulgu. He wears a grey hood and a blue scarf, and he has swirling grey eyes and stormcloud-grey hair. He has a surprisingly young face and leans on his skull topped staff to support himself.
Alric: 14th, 18th and 20th Supreme Patriarch of the College of Magic as well as the current Magister Patriarch of the Light College, switching frequently with Lady Magister Mira. The Savior of Apesto, he presided over the colleges during the Night of a Thousand Arcane Duels, which started as a result of a protege of his sealing him in crystal and creating a Storm of Magic. Stepped down in shame afterwards, before regaining his post as 18th Supreme Patriarch after defeating Felip Iyrtu of the Amethysts. Lost to Paranoth then regained his post as the 20th Supreme. In the triple digit age range and his former disciple, Van Horstmann holds quite a lot of resentment towards him.

After Alric's humiliating loss to Dragomas in the Supreme Patriarch Duels in 2486 IC, Alric's position in the Order has fallen severely. He lost Horstmann to Mathilde and Lady Magister Mira made her move, pulling his powerbase from under him and effectively establishing order as acting Magister Matriarch. He found no friends in Altdorf so he moved over to Nuln to achieve a great deed to restore his position, but was rebuffed by Amethyst Mariarch Elspeth von Draken. He then left for Stirland only to be rebuffed there as well when Roswita found that he was more interested in finding out what happened to the former Amethyst Patriarch than helping. He is now in Talabecland assisting the Unfahiger (Dieter IV's family) house in investigating a series of brutal murders of their members in the hopes of brandishing his name and restore his power.

That case is now over, with Mathilde having cleanly solved the issue without his involvement and the credit falling entirely into the Longshanks' hand. The result of this is that Alric completely failed to restore his honor and gain glory from this mission, and he will have to find something else to brandish his name. The longer he takes, the more monumental the task has to be.

Mira: While technically still a Lady Magister, Mira is the current Matriarch of the Light Order in all but name. She acts as the outward face of the order and manages its internal workings while Alric is off trying to achieve a great deed.
Feldmann: Highly charismatic and politically savvy individual, which is rare for a Gold Wizard, especially a patriarch. It indicates that he is likely not too deep into his wind, as he spends a lot of time smoothing over ruffled feathers on Battle Mage deployments. Seems to be ambitious, and bargained with Mathilde over her Skaven loot in exchange for the secret of Gehenna's Golden Hounds.
Lord Magisters:
Lady Magister Grey: Skilled in stealth and enchantment, she adopted the Grey moniker after destroying a Chaos Dwarf Hellcannon foundry to avoid the many Hobgoblin Assassins sent after her. She assassinated many of these Hobgoblins and performed revolutionary autopsies on them. Has a reputation as a magic brawler.

Rector Melkoth: Triple digit age range, fooling time itself to make his age impossible to calculate. Head of the Grey College's Battle Wizards and an incredibly experienced Battle Mage himself, as he is the inventor of the Grey Signature spell Melkoth's Mystifying Miasma. He can casually cast his Miasma as a prank, and is exceptionally skilled in Battle Magic in general.

Provost Kurtis Krammovitch: Head of the Grey College's diplomatic efforts within and outside the Empire and the Colleges. Double agent for the Hedge Folk turned triple turned quadruple agent with a very convoluted story full of rumor and speculation involving the Hedgewise he was born into, giving him a lot of knowledge and connections with them as groups and giving him an unofficial role as their liaison. Knows the lore of the Hedgewise.

Walther Kupfer: Known for fomenting civil unrest in the Druchii city of Clar Karond from within the city's slave pits, resulting in house feuds that still blow up from time to time. Old and "retired". An offhand mention from Aksel, Hedgewise of Huven in Nordland, of the "Kupfers putting in a good word" indicates that Walther, or at least his family, are most likely of the Hedgefolk.

Porter Reiner Starke: Former youngest Lord Magister of the Grey Order before Mathilde. Duty as Porter means he is in charge of the Grey College's espionage commitments, including Internal Security. Has intimidating piercing grey eyes and seems very pious. Canonical version believed belief in Sigmar was essential to the unity of the Empire and thus heavily encouraged Sigmarite belief. Rumored to have led a purge against a Tzeentchian cult by the name of the Cult of the Broken Wheel, possibly leading to his promotion to Lord Magister.

Bursar Wilhelmine von Bucht: Duties as Bursar include economic and financial control and oversight over the Grey College, specifically over the tithing and enforcing of the Vow of Poverty. Known for destroying the house of Goellner when they thought their trade empire was too powerful, for dismantling multiple smuggler guilds, and concealing the Imperial Regalia from Dieter IV to prevent him from causing more chaos.

Mathilde Weber: Current youngest Lady Magister in the Grey College. Former Spymaster of Stirland and now former Court Wizard and Loremaster to King Belegar of Karak Eight Peaks. Known for her deeds as the campaign leader in charge of the destruction of Castle Drakenhof, and as an instrumental component in the retaking of Karak Eight Peaks and the destruction of Waagh Birdmuncha. Recently came back from the Chaos Wastes, restoring Karak Vlag from the Warp and confirming Karag Dum's status, and is currently acting as Head Librarian of Kron Azril Ungol, Head Researcher of the World's Edge Branch for the Multidisciplinary Advancement of Thaumatergy, and the head of the Waystone Research project done in cooperation between the Eonir of Laurelorn, the Colleges of Magic and the Dwarfs of the Karaz Ankor.
Elrisse: Magister Verspasian Kant's master. Shown as an option on a thread roll. The Porter equivalent of the Light Order, Lady Magister Elrisse's loyalty to the Order and to the Empire is unimpeachable, and she is cleared for more access to information than any other living Light Wizard. Her full title is High Luminary, Treatite, and Abjurer Elrisse, which signify a Lord Magister who focuses on the pursuit of practitioners of unsanctioned magic and has secondary specializations in academia and the banishment of Daemons. She is very knowledgable on Nehekharan traditions.

Her role in the Order's hierarchy is that of Gatekeeper, which likely focuses on more metaphorical gates than just the front gate of the College. In her own words, her credentials are in "counterespionage, counter-daemonology, and Article 13 enforcement." Her manner of speech is rhythmic and almost practiced, and her expressions and replies are always preceded by an expression of blank concentration indicating that she is possibly always attempting to find the right thing to say and present. She might be neurodivergent. Hedging her bets on Mira, but she justifies it by saying that she technically isn't acting against Alric.

Mira: Six foot tall glowing woman. Swaps with Alric for position of Matriarch of the Light Order. Rumors in the Light College are that she never Journeyed. She was preparing for her journey when Altdorf was attacked by Tomb Kings looking for something of theirs, and she acquited herself on the walls well enough that she ended up being promoted straight to Magister. Currently the acting Matriarch of the Light Order. Ambitious and political savvy, somewhat ruthless. Currently in cooperation with Mathilde Weber in a sort of quid pro quo, Mira provides Mathilde resources (such as Horstmann and Elrisse) and Mathilde provides introductions and information.

Egrimm van Horstmann: One of the few surviving students of Magister Patriarch Alric, who he holds resentment for yet still has some loyalty towards. Skilled and knowledgeable combatant and researcher with experience leading a Quartet, and capable of at least some Battle Magic. Canonical events involving Horstmann should be discarded, especially in relation to his book. It is not known whether he has fallen or will fall to chaos. Horstmann has been working for Alric for many years and chafed under his authority.

Horstmann has recently been fast tracked to Lord Magister on Mathilde's recommendation through favor trading with Lady Magister Mira. He believes he has earned the position, but was held back by Alric's meddling. It is confirmed that the reason that Horstmann's deeds are not very well known are because Alric has been claiming the credit for his deeds. Horstmann is capable of enchanting, although whether he has made his canonical Speculum is unknown. Horstmann currently works with Mathilde in WEB-MAT and seems to be feeling better out of Alric's grip.

Master Abjurer Betlinde Artz: The Light Order's greatest expert on resolving Daemonic Posession while maintaining the host's sanity and life. Possesses a great deal of favor across the Empire's highest circles thanks to her job. Has a positive view of the Grey Order, viewing them as fighting the same war the Lights do.
Gehenna: The second Gehenna, not the one who made the Golden Hounds. She thinks the first was an Elf. About as tall as Mathilde with Nordlander features, gilded and muscular. Johann's teacher, she graduated to Lady Magister from the Battle Mage track, which makes her unusual even by Gold standards.

Stanisława Skłodowicz: High Wizard of Middenheim, alchemist looking for the Universal Solvent. Published a paper on the applications of the Lustrian Salamander's saliva that Mathilda brought to the colleges. Name is Kislevite. Heavily focused on her own projects and doesn't seem to pay attention to much else, but still knows some of the politics of the Colleges and is willing to help Mathilde with some basic support as long as it benefits her by reducing Ulrican stigma against the Colleges.

Final Transmutation guy: Challenged Dragomas for the title of Supreme Patriarch and cast a spell that might have very well been Final Transmutation, but was counterspelled and death glared.
Goendel: Challenged Dragomas for the title of Supreme Patriarch. Cast a self buff before she got Amber Speared. Former Battle Wizard with roughly equal seniority to Mathilde. Goendel joined Mathilde in the Drakenhof expedition, supposedly due to her being in the area when Mathilde sent the call out for a Celestial to help the expedition. Mathilde is unsure if that is truly the case or if Goendel wants to look over Mathilde's shoulder, or perhaps that a prophecy or portent pushed her in this direction. She has the focused stillness of a cat readying itself for a pounce and moves with the unnatural lightness of one who pays only the most perfunctory of lip service to the pull of the earth. Her robes seem to have started as the standard billowing blue robes typical to her Order, but were then drastically tailored and belted until they could no longer be disturbed by the breezes that constantly spring up around her. This seems to indicate that she has the Zephyr and Feather Light Arcane Marks.

Goendul is a practical and grounded individual, described by Mathilde as "someone with Hubert's practicality, but still within the Celestial College in more than name." She is a straightforward individual who sees portents and omens as a means to an end, rather than an end by itself. Goendul has been operating in Sylvania for a little while, perceiving the least bad omens (as there are never good omens) and trying her best to mitigate the damage. Goendul's desire to join the mining expedition was partly because she was in the area, but largely because the Omens were good, which meant someone had tipped the scales (likely Ranald through the Gambler coin), which meant things would go very well or be very interesting. She also had a desire to meet Mathilde, to see the "one who has cast such a long shadow in this land".

Goendul's power comes primarily from being in the open sky, and she needs to recharge under the sky if she's separated from it, or need access to it for certain abilities. Despite that, she has proven herself an incredibly competent and powerful Battlemage with a repertoire of Battle Magic Spells, such as Iceshard Blizzard, Urannon's Thunderbolt, Curse of the Midnight Winds and Chain Lightning, alongside the expected portent and divinatory abilities.

Haruspex Stern Glanzend: Combat focused Diviner of considerable power. Seems to possess a disdain towards the College's attitude regarding elemental Azyr.
Anraheir: Mentioned in thread as a possibility for challenging Dragomas. Might be related to the magic item Cloak of Anraheir, or to the spell Curse of Anraheir. Could be a Gehenna situation where he is named after Anraheir.

Luuk Schild: Lord Magister enchanter in charge of the Transformation of Kadon enchantment requested by Mathilde for dealing with Cython. Likes tea.

Kerwen Sigmarsson: Mentioned in thread as a possibility for challenging Dragomas. Character from 1st edition WFRP who was the Wild Father in that edition.
Arburg: Challenger for the title of Supreme Patriarch against Dragomas. Recent promotion into Lady Magister from the Battle Mage track. Fought with the forces of Ostland and Nordland against Beastmen and with the Second Imperial Navy against Norscans. Spellwork was noted as excellent. The Jade Matriarch before Tochter Grunfield in canon 2e WFRP. Part of the Old Faith faction in the Jade Order, and has spilled blood to defend more Waystones than most have ever seen.

Panoramia's Mother: Described as intimidating. Strict adherent to the Old Faith and specifically the Cult of the Mother, holding significant influence in the Jade Order and its factions. She does not believe that outsiders should even be recruited in the Order, and does not seem to believe that men should be accepted into the Order to become Druids. Despite being married to a Perpetual who has magical potential, she does not consider him a true druid and refuses to see that he doesn't believe in the Old Faith, believing that he is simply staying out of the Order's business.

Despite Panoramia having her own teacher, her mother refused to break the line of mother teaching daughter since the dawn of time, so she was very involved in Panoramia's tutelage. Panoramia dislikes many things about her mother, and does not look forward to being tested by the High Druids of the Order. Her mother, as a Lady Magister, has the ability to influence half of the High Druids to go easy and the other half to likely go twice as hard because of her.

Professor Dieter Vogt: Head of Agronomy at the Royal Academy of Talabecland.
Olenus: Lord Magister who adapted Mathilde's MAP and made it universal to all the Colleges as Lesser Magic through his own modifications, preserving the pun by adding Polysevirric making it into MAPP.

Thyrus Gormann: Confirmed as a Lord Magister through rolls. Canonical Supreme Patriarch before Balthasar Gelt. Possesses considerbale power in both Battle Magic and Enchantment, and rumoured to be the favorite to be the next Patriarch of the Bright Order. Only reason he has not challenged Reichtard for the title is because of the relatively peaceful era the Empire finds itself in, which finds itself better suited to it current patriarch.
Prior Albwin Marsner: Ascended to Lord Magister in the Siege of Krinal, breaking the forces of the Lichemaster of the Grey Mountains. Possesses the title of Prior Provincial of La Maisontaal Abbey, a Taalite fortress-monastery, through unknown means. Continually patrols the Grey Mountains to put down their many threats.
Magisters:
Regimand Speiseschrank: Mathilde Weber's master. Frequently goes into "retirement" only to return on some spontaneous mission. Has a network of inns and taverns across the Empire that he uses for an informant network and as a series of safe houses. Old and experienced, although he refuses to use any Battle Magic that isn't Smoke and Mirrors. Has a smoke beard as a result of a risky play with a deliberate miscast feint, and despite cautioning safety performs many risky gambits such as rooftop hopping with chain cast skywalks and using Smoke and Mirrors to cancel downwards momentum. Skilled assassin and spy. Dismantled a Lahmian conspiracy ring that included the former Empress, who he personally assassinated, gaining the assistance of an Amethyst "who needed to shore up their position" to make it look like a natural death. Said Amethyst is likely to have been Elspeth von Draken.

Dean Tomaso Mugnaio: Magister and Dean of the Grey College, he is better known as Tomas Muller of Altdorf, a man earning a good name in the Guild of Stevedores for supposedly serving a prison sentence in Mundsen Keep on behalf of a crime done by the Guildmaster. He only spends part of his time being seen looking appropriately miserable in one of the prison's work gangs, but spends most of his time serving as head of educational and recruitment services within the Grey College. Tomaso's name is indicative of a man of Tilean discent. He only recently gained his position when the previous Dean retired a "few years back" from 2488 IC. He speaks in an impeccable dockyard Altdorfer accent, out of place in an academic setting, but presents a professional and clear, to the point demeanour.

Mister Grey: Taught the enchanting lessons that resulted in Mathilde learning Tools-Free Enchantment. Insists on being called Mr. Grey and is suspected to be one of Algard's Hands by Mathilde.

Magister Grey: Very skilled enchanter, whose enchanting skills were vital for the construction of the Burning Shadows tower and its IFF system. Artificer of the Grey College.
Choirmaster Stephen: Affable and likable Light Magister who brightens candles in his presence. Trained and experienced in leading Choirs of Apprentices in battle, and an experienced enchanter who taught the Runecraft class and made the Candle of Cleansing Radiance for Mathilde. The Light Order's foremost expert on rituals. His Choirmaster title matters more to the Light Order than the Lord Magister title, so while he is a Magister, he is treated with great respect in the Order.

Verspasian Kant: Revealed as a result in thread rolls. Apprentice to Lady Magister Elrisse. He is the canonical Light Patriarch in 2522 IC in 2e WFRP, and a rival to Van Horstmann. His DL version has yet to be met.
Johann: Blind magnetoreceptive punch wizard with a gilded body. Worships the Ancestor Gods, discipled to a master from the Order of Grungni's Pick. Former apprentice to Lady Magister Gehenna, he has inflexible magic and as a result is incapable of many of the esoteric and mystical aspects of his Wind such as Alchemy, leading him to be shunned by his order. A good friend of Mathilde's. Part of WEB-MAT, he is getting along with the Champion of the Queen Kadoh quite a bit, with the two participating in a wide variety of sports and activities. Johann has recently replaced one of his arms with magical artifact bought by Mathilde. Highly sophisticated and made of some sort of gold alloy with another material running from the palm to the shoulder to conduct Hysh, it utilises Hysh to create beams similar to Shem's Burning Gaze. It also has extraordinarily sharp claws and high enough strength that Johann's incomplete gilding couldn't handle it.

Maximilian de Gaynseford: Aspiring blacksmith apprenticed under a Dwarfen Master Smith. Believes true transmutation comes from crafting, and is attuned to the more mystical aspects of Chamon. Spends most of his time practicing his art, but also acts as a scholarly assistant to Mathilde, as he has a talent for translating her thought process into writing and is an exceptionally patient person with spells further enhancing those abilities. Is very fond of Silver Arrows of Arha, and uses a Crossbow he crafted as a focus making it act like an unusual staff. Member of WEB-MAT, he's been recently invigorated by seeing his dream in action at the hands of the Eonir's Priests of Vaul and is quite happy to know that they would never share it, so he could discover it himself.
Michel Solmann: Klaus Solmann's cousin, Magister attuned to Elemental Azyr, likes gambling with card games and joined the expedition to Dum to receive inspiration from an Ice Witch.

Klaus Solmann: Classmate of Kereveld, helped with the Blue Tower to help fund his dream observatory in Ostland.

Bartolomi Kereveld: Dislikes using the stars to tell the future, travelled to Lustria, fought a sea serpent and a Slann and after his return refused to leave his home continent. Sparred with Hubert who was an apprentice at the time, and helped with the Blue Tower.

Heinrich Frissen: Roll option for Drakenhof Mining.

Methuselis: Roll option for Drakenhof Mining.
Esbern and Seija: Partner magisters who may or may not be in a romantic relationship but are definitely in a physical one. Seija is agnostic/areligious, taciturn and a spear wielder, having spells that focus on animal communication and control more than combat. Esbern is more energetic, uses a bow, is a Taalite and has more combat focused spells. Both are Knights of Taal's Fury and ride Demigryphs, stable mutated monstrous cavalry. Assisted in two of Mathilde's campaigns.
Seed Enchanter: What rank she is and what her name is is unknown, but she enchanted Mathilde's Seed of Regrowth.

Cyrston von Danling: Elementally and seasonally attuned Ghyran user with a sense of adventure and exploration. Joined the expedition to Karag Dum. Recently promoted to Magister as a result of his contribution to the expedition. He is extremely perceptive to the rhythms of Ghyran's flow and well travelled/knowledgable, making him a good adventurer/explorer. Writes a book about his travels in Lustria in canon. Hasn't happened yet (if it ever will).

Tochter Grunfeld: An ambitious pioneer in Jade rituals who has spent recent years engaged in the Sylvanian campaign, experimenting with ways to purify the soil. She knows more than any other about the rituals that descended from Druidic rites. A staunch traditionalist, but more self-aware about it than most. In canon, she became Matriarch of the Jade College around 2522 IC after the Storm of Chaos when Matriarch Arburg died. Also in canon, she had eight children all of whom grew up to become Jade Magisters. No indication whether either detail may become relevant in DL.

Tochter is a respectful and polite individual who speaks carefully and deliberately and exclusively refers to Mathilde as "Lady Magister". She expresses great interest in her ancestry, the Old Faith, the Earth Mother and the Druid's old practices, and is happy to see that their practices aren't sacrifical in nature as a result of Mathilde's translations. She seems carefully optimistic about reconnecting the Jades to the Earth Mother. Her specialties in rituals tend to focus on growth, nature and the seasons, and her work in Sylvania often involved making sure that the ground people were buried in didn't spit out Undead.
Wolfgang Scheunacht: Enchanter. Was in charge of making Mathilde's Dragon Flask. Related to Hans?

Hugo Bann: Enchanter. Helped teach Enchantment lessons and crafting the Red Tower with Mathilde.

Victor: Magister with a heavy lined face indicating an old man, with fiery red hair. Described as having a "cultured voice". Recieved the Doomfire Ring from Mathilde and granted her the Torc of Fire, which he may have personally enchanted.

Hans Scheunacht: Overseer of the Lustrian Salamanders gifted to the Amber Order by Mathilde, contributor to the paper on uses of the Salamander's saliva. Related to Wolfgang?
Margarete Schluchtbuck: A short haired and pretty young woman as skilled with a scalpel or pistol as she is with the Wind of Death. She operates in anatomist and physician circles centered around the mostly illegal trafficking of bodies for study of cadavers (Resurrection Men), which is also used by Necromancers and is therefore a front for the Amethyst Order's war against Necromancy. Margarete appears to be a cheerful and eccentric woman dedicated to and seems to enjoy her line of work. While she has never personally dissected a Skaven, she was instantly able to identify the adrenal gland, and her time with the Organ Vat allowed her and her actions to advance academic knowledge over the purpose of the gland and applications of the hormones extracted from animals' adrenal glands. She is grateful to Mathilde for boosting her reputation within the circles she works with.

Magister Sigismund Herwig and Magister Marike Grünberg: Amethyst Battle Wizards who accompanied Magister Patriarch Viggo Hexensohn on the Drakenhof campaign. Carried Hexensohn's corpse out of the crypt he died in.
Journeymen:
Grey: ???
Citharus, Barbitus, Timpania: Trio of Journeymen from Tilea, likely picked up from an orphanage. Acted as a Choir Quartet under Van Horstmann during a trip to the Chaos Wastes. All of them have different Magesight senses, Citharus with auditory, Timpania with olfactory and Barbitus with visceral. Barbitus had a bad experience in the Chaos Wastes that lead to suspicions of corruption that Mathilde cleared him on after interrogation.
Gold: ???
Hubert Denzel: Ulrican noble from Middenheim who managed to retain his title after going to the College. Heavily attuned to elemental Azyr but shuns Mystical, resulting in self inflicted stunted magic. Has powerful mastery over lightning and flight and is a skilled swordsman and warrior, training under General Soizic of the Undumgi. One of the three Esteemed Ducklings, he serves as the Ambassador to the settlement of Ulrikadrin under the authority of K8P.

Dieter Klemperer: Roll option for Drakenhof Mining.
Amber: ???
Panoramia: Daughter of a Jade Magister and Perpetual, she is a Druid with tactile Windsight and great knowledge and affinity for the fields. She is seasonally attuned like most Ghyran users, and has talent in potions and alchemy, fitting for she is named after the greatest potion maker of the Jade Order. She has a staff that connects to the earth to let her rejuvenate her stamina, and she is exceptionally skilled at using and harnessing the energies of the Waystones. Has very strong relations with the Halflings and is fluent in Mootish. She is Mathilde's romantic partner.

Panoramia has a complicated relationship with her parents, especially her mother, which has led her to resent her. She does not believe in the Old Faith like her mother does and left to the Mordheim campaign as soon as she could when becoming a journeywoman to get away from her, then she joined the K8P expedition. Her mother taught her, but her father was the one who raised her, and she inherited his secular view. She hates that her mother doesn't recognise him as a Druid.
Adela Burgstaller: Daughter of burghers, she has many siblings and family members and she is loyal to them. She has an uncanny memory and understanding of engineering and mechanics that she is enthusiastic to deepen, resulting in her seeking out Karak Eight Peaks. Has had military training and indulges in a little nepotism when she started getting involved in the Karag Nar Gunnery School. Has a wand with a gaseous power stone that she uses as a focus for some of her spells. One of the three Esteemed Ducklings.

While she is still a Journeywoman, Adela has been breveted to an equivalent rank of Magister and wears the robes due to her association with military units, a Bright Order custom. Her position as the official go between for Empire, Dwarf and Undumgi Engineers after her Aunt married Chancellor Oswald granted her the appropriate rank and pay for the official designation. Adela is still working on her masterpiece, an invention involving steam flashboiled by her magic to launch a number of different payloads, although she's struggling to make it more accessible. As a result, she's accepted Mathilde's offer to be her Gyrocarriage pilot so she can receive greater knowledge of Steam and acquire a number of side benefits, such as being wherever Mathilde is Mathilde'ing.

Alexandra Kohler: Older women who discovered her abilities later on in life after being attacked by a beastman and using the fire of her charcoal for self defence. Kohler by trade and birth.
Gretel Maurer: Stunted growth in the middle of puberty as a result of shyish gives her an unsettling appearance. Enjoys shiftless debauchery and is a faithful of Morr who desires wealth. Very talented and skilled in the art of reaping and life stealing, granting her the title of Favorite Duckling. Exceptionally good at sneaking and lock picking, and her name implies that she is a foundling, indicating a possible past of thievery. Currently accompanying the Tilean mercenary band Braganza's Besiegers. Starting to get involved with Barak Varr's project in the Border Princes and has expressed interest in studying the tombs of the Tomb Kings in the area.
Apprentices:
Eike: Grey Junior Apprentice. Has emotive or tactile windsight. Wilhelmina's grand daughter and the current heir to the EIC.

Gatekeeper: Old man wearing shabby robes that serves as the Bright College Gatekeeper. Bright red eyes the only hint as to his nature. Exact status is unknown so I've placed him in apprentices under the assumption that he's a Perpetual.

Professor Perpetual: Gold Perpetual who served as the Professor on the Waystone classes. She has a Talabeclander accent. Very uptight and spent a good degree of her lessons discouraging ever messing with a Waystone unless you really needed to and needed a request directly from Algard to get her to reluctantly provide Mathilde with further knowledge.

Hochlander: Real name is Rudiger von Bechafen. A Hochlander who happens to be a good hunter, woodsman, linguist and cryptographer. In charge of Mathilde's EIC information network, he is fairly straightforward and simple in his solutions. Grey Perpetual. Has a shadow base in the Sunken Palace within Wurtbad, capital of Stirland.

Middenlander: Grey Perpetual. A long-time resident of Middenheim's Guild of Wizards and Alchemists seeking a posting as far away from the City of the White Wolf as they can possibly get until unnamed circumstances blow over. Has connections with the Cults and a knack for inspiring loyalty

Wissenlander: Grey Perpetual. A bandit that earned some infamy when they mugged a travelling Reiksguard Knight, and then even more when they used their fragment of magical ability to escape their cell and lead the Witch Hunters that the local authorities called in on a merry chase across Solland. Apparently their brush with the pyre caused them to rethink their life, as they made their way to Altdorf to present themself to the Grey College. A talented criminal, and one who still has a bounty on their head in Wissenland.

Tilean: A lady from the crowded streets of Verezzo, she has twin talents for mathematics and intrigue, and apparently had a rather successful career as a wandering charlatan before her modest magical gifts manifested and she made her way to the Empire. Grey Perpetual.

Marienburger: Grey Perpetual. A young man who passed up the College of Navigation and Sea Magicks in favour of the Empire's Colleges, he has an unsurprisingly nautical background and an apparent familiarity with those Ulthuani that leave their island home to trade amongst the wider world. He also has an impressive knack for mists.

Stirlander: Grey Perpetual. Middle aged woman with a very long and classified work history as an experienced spymaster in Stirland. Strong willed and has a lot of strong opinions about how things should be done.

Nordlander: Grey Perpetual. Young woman raised in a small fishing village and skilled in spearfishing, accounted for a number of cultists in her home village with her trident before she was picked up by a priest for having magical talent. Power far outstripped her ability to control it, leading to an escalating series of miscasts that lead to her gaining the Forgettable Arcane Mark. Chose to seal her powers as a result.

Culloch: One of the most respected Perpetuals of the Jade Order, only partly due to his rather intimidating Lady Magister wife. He is the secular expert on the history of the Cult of the Mother. He is heavily implied to be Panoramia's father.
Former:
Archmage Teclis: Current High Loremaster of the White Tower of Hoeth in Saphery, founder of the Colleges after the Great War against Chaos, technically the first Supreme Patriarch.

Volans: Effective first and official second Supreme Patriarch of the Colleges, Patriarch of the Light Order, greatest Magesight in the Old World equivalent to Teclis.

Friedrich von Tarnus: First Magister Patriarch of the Bright Order, former Carroburg Greatsword. One of Teclis' most talented students and an excellent enchanter that forged the Staff of Volans wielded by the Supreme Patriarchs, Armor of Von Tarnus that can be wielded by Wizards, and the Silver Seal, a powerful defensive artifacts gifted to Magnus and passed down to each succeeding Emperor.

Theodor Habermas: Third Patriarch of the Gold Order, discovered the method of forming the Power stones of the Gold Order and named it the Philosopher's stone. It was then adopted and spread around the colleges with unique names for each Power Stone.

Gotthlif Puchta: Former Patriarch of the Gold Order, author to the incredibly informative "A Modest Treatise into the Nature of Magic" book, a book of theories that greatly influenced the colleges and leads him to being highly respected.

Kadon: Third Supreme Patriarch after Volans and Teclis, believed to be the creator of the spell Transformation of Kadon and rumored to be the same Kadon that created the Binding Scrolls of Kadon, wielded the Crown of Sorcery and founded Mourkhain. Many rumors abound of his situation, many believing him to have become stuck in a Transformation with no way of turning back.

Ptolos: Former Supreme Patriarch of the Colleges of Magic at some point. Likely the "Archmage Ptolos" mentioned in the Army Books who possesed the magic item known as the Grey Wand, and as a result is most likely from the Grey College. Diaries are available for College members to read, albeit heavily redacted. Barbitus mentions that from what he read he suspects Ptolos had Intuitive Windsight.

High Luminary Horx: A protege of Supreme Patriarch Alric's during the early 2400s that grew ambitious and decided to seal his teacher in crystal, reading the Book of Volans believing it to be the key to power, he went insane and unleashed a Storm of Magic across Altdorf that started the Nights of a Thousand Arcane Duels.

Screaming Lord Reichtard: Former Magister Lord of the Bright Order. The first person in the College's history to be pacified. His screams are still said to be heard in the College's halls. Similar name to the current Bright Patriarch, which causes some issues.

Albrecht Hauptman: Amethyst Wizard who summoned ghosts to fight his enemies during the Night of a Thousand Arcane Duels. Condemned as a Necromancer and caused infighting within the Amethyst College.

Felip Iyrtu: 17th Supreme Patriarch of the Colleges of Magic and an Amethyst Wizard. Defeated by Alric.

Saint Grey the First: Fought in the Great War against Chaos, introduced worship of Ranald to the Grey Order.

Saint Grey the Second: Planted the idea in Grom the Paunch's head that he would find better fights outside the Empire.

Saint Grey the Third: Rode nonstop across the Empire to warn Journeymen of Dieter IV outlawing the Colleges.

Viggo Hexensohn: Amethyst Patriarch before Elspeth, rumored to be a former priest of Morr in Sylvania. Died during the Drakenhof Campaign through unknown means.

Jovi Sunscryer: Light Magister living in Stirland that joined the Drakehof Campaign. Died miscasting battlemagic, blowing himself up and setting a section of the town of Drakenhof alight, which still lights up on particularly sunny days. Canonical Sunscryer made a branch of the Light College in Stirland in the future, which might never happen in DL.

Heinz Meissner: Canonical founder of the Ancient Library of the Light College. Whether he is the current head of the library and whether he still lives remains up in the air.

Olorin: Grey Magister Patriarch before Algard, retired when Mathilde was an apprentice.

Is it generally spread out?
Clearly not, we're only aware of Heidi doing it, and she's clearly a powerful, favoured priestess of the God of luck.
If you need an in-quest reason, perhaps imagine that Morr, Shyalas dad and God of Death might get annoyed if it became more common and many people delayed natural death.
In general, strictly in theory, is it possible to decipher the work of stones?
This is literally the next chapter of the quest, we're not going to get answers to what the Waystone project achieves before we 'try it and find out'.
That said, it's a very ambitious undertaking and it's probable any successes will be limited in scope.
Um ... will there be divine quests from Ranald?
I hope not.
I also don't expect so. It's not that sort of relationship, it'd be odd if Ranald started ordering Mathilde around.
He didn't even order her to help with either of His current big gambits, protecting Mandred as Emperor-to-be or head priestess in Kislev in his reputation restoration there.

Do you struggle to remember the members of the Colleges of Magic in Divided Loyalties, and wish there was a resource that listed them all and who they are? Then you're in luck, because I spent way too much time on this. Please tell me if I missed anyone or made any mistakes.
This is great, I hope it gets an informational threadmark.

Maybe add that van Drakken may have been involved in the death of the empress?

You live up to your username.

(If we're being accurate, the ashes of a dead god are in an hourglass, not Elspeth's staff)

Bursar Wilhelmine Bucht: Duties as Bursar include economic and financial control and oversight over the Grey College, specifically over the tithing and enforcing of the Vow of Poverty. Known for destroying the house of Goellner when they thought their trade empire was too powerful, for dismantling multiple smuggler guilds, and concealing the Imperial Regalia from Dieter IV to prevent him from causing more chaos.
Might be worth bringing up the fact that she has 10 Great Deeds to her name.

and rumored to be the same Kadon that created the Binding Scrolls of Kadon, wielded the Crown of Sorcery and founded Mourkhain
I don't think that's temporally possible if he's the 3rd Supreme Patriarch.

The Scrolls of Binding are ancient, and Mourkhain was founded almost 4,000 years ago.

I'm referencing Boney statements:
The Colleges have something of a tradition for renaming oneself in that way, like Gehenna did. But there are rumours that the Amber Brotherhood Kadon was the actual historical Kadon, and that he's still around somewhere.

Nice post! Quick note, there is (at least in canon) an Amber Battle Magic Spell called "Curse of Anraheir". Could be the same person as the Amber LM you listed.
