[X] Escort: Zhufbar was literally one more round of night goblin charges up to their positions before running out. While they managed to confirm the vault was secure – so they can come back later – they will certainly need assistance on the way back. If you've learned anything about this hold…it's that it is infested with things that could attack them on the way back.

Wow, Magnus is getting pretty neat stats.

EDIT : HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Magnus gained 1400 prestige in a single battle? Wow!

Faith, steel, and gunpowder.

These are what makes the Empire great.

…you should write that down somewhere before someone else says it.

Pretty sure someone has. Or I'm remembering it from somewhere further down the line, not really sure

"Ya ever thought about trying to weaponized that glowy faith business that yer human's got? Say…like a holy bomb?"

Right, did that priestess at least try to get the point across that faith doesn't work like that?

He's implied that the third G1 is the skaven warlord in charge, IIRC.

Wonderful, as if there weren't enough problems to deal with.

He also would've been gored by a ratfang and been laid up for the next four to six months. :V

All things considered, probably.

That probably wouldn't be good for morale...

Better than having to go through greatswords like they're going out of style. They're meant to be the elite of the empire, the best there is, old battled hardened veterans. The way they are now it seems to be a miracle if they've even got any left to help train the next batch before Freddy sends them into the meat grinder.

To be fair to Freddy, he never sent them anywhere he wasn't willing to go, and he was pretty much always AHEAD of them.
That breeds a certain kind of respect for the Greatswords, they follow a great man, but he's surprisingly durable and they aren't.

Maybe we should see about getting more elite armor for the Greatswords.

Also, I stand by my prior observation that Sigmar is personally reaching across the multiverse to bless these rolls in just the right way.
Heresy!

How dare you diminish what is clearly the magnanimity of the Dice Gods in this instance? Do you know not that can just as easily taketh as they giveth. For they are fickle and uncaring.

The roll hasn't even attached a modifier to it to prove that Sigmar was there to assuage the ire of the Dice Gods for when they are not so kind.

I thought Sigmar was one of the guises they took... Are you saying that Tzeentch and Nurgle aren't Dice Gods to?

Hmm, after smaller Magnus recited his prayer did he in fact move to the east?

Geographically...yes. All within the mountain itself, of course.

Drinking pure light man!
@torroar
Typo

fixed

Didn't you also say due to being proof of surviving life threatening battles it causes small amounts of prestige boost each turn?

yeh

I think you mentioned there's one surviving first gener other then Roland?

Gorebash and another.

Almost all. Magnus only has like one flask with him at all times compared to Anna's and Freddy's(IIRC) 8-10 flasks or so. He doesn't get rip-roaring drunk nor does Arthur or the Dark Sisters.

Also, @torroar, I was looking on the ront page and saw this under "Spoiler: Arthur von Hohenzollern Branch of Hohenzollern Family".

Name: Frederick von Hohenzollern
Birthdate: 2326

Diplomacy:
Martial:
Stewardship:
Intrigue:
Piety:
Learning:

Nothing for the kid yet?

He gets statted when he's five.

Magnus got the same fail, fail, critsuccess on last chance, sequence that his father seems to get every time he's in a fight.

He actually only barely failed the first one, meaning that if the second one had succeeded he would have been fine.

Ave Sigmar!

I dunno, in the Warhammer world it might work like that. After all, the priests did do a lot of blessing when we fought the Plague Count and those seemed to be more effective against him then. And when we were fighting the undead I think they did the same thing.

Honestly, I can totally see that working for a Molotov Cocktail sort of thing. Or a flamethrower.

Plus it would be funny. "OF COURSE the Ostlanders figured out a way to weaponize alcohol and religion at the same time! Crazy bastards..."-the rest of the Empire.

I want to make them into alcohol-powered Steam Knights. And then I want to make an Ogre version-mostly because then you could have a real beer belly.

Even Chaos has nothing on the whims of the laughing Dice Gods.

Righto, because I'm going to write Garden's Gate, the other 2 won't get written.

Jade Nightmares - nurgle related
Old Obligations - Roland related

Blessing weapons? I'm not doubting that, we've seen it done in this quest and other instances.

What she seems to be thinking is having bombs that literally explode with faith. Which I'm pretty sure isn't a thing.

Well seems to me blessing an explosive substance might work. After all blessings are just earthbound spells like magic items if far less refined and long-lasting.
