Sun and Moon
He stopped a moment, crossing his arms and raising his chin in defiance. Ling Qi leaned down, her loose bangs casting her eyes in shadow. Flecks of cold blue met gleaming gold, and the land around was cast in twilight by the shine of the dawn and the dark of midnight.
Been meaning to doodle this for a while

Edit: Was told on the discord I should probably ping @yrsillar lol

The Dream Team
As Doramas, FriedIce, Abeo, and others have posited, Turn 16 will be an auspicious time to embark on the Dream Adventure we've promised to Xuan Shi, to progress towards including him in our diplomacy efforts and to train our Dreamwalking skill further before our Nightmare Tribulation.

So please enjoy my art and my sentimental rambling, and Vote Xuan Shi Dream Adventure in Turn 16.

The yinyang is probably the shippiest part of the image, partially a nod back to the locked door in the Yu Long trial/attraction. Still, their relationship has had a lot of Xuan Shi contributing to Ling Qi's growth in ways both material and intellectual. It's merely in the social sphere where Xuan Shi has had the yin role, accepting Ling Qi's help and invitations.

Aside from the material/social framing of their interaction so far, the conceptual framing for the yinyang I see most strongly is white-as-optimism and black-as-pessimism. Yang's a white swirl with a black dot, and yin's a black swirl with a white dot.

Xuan Shi's outlook has been largely optimistic when he has acted on it, the negative results unpleasant surprises, and his view of seeking the horizon (ie seeking a better world/self) despite knowing it to be unreachable is optimistic and noble. He is a bright optimist, and he harbors a black dot, his learned depressive thoughts and the nightmare spirit Kongyou. We will likely learn more about them later, but it remains to be seen if the tragic drama is something they will inflict discriminately, or, like Sixiang has sometimes traded chaos for order, if they can grow to wield it with noble purpose.

Likewise, Ling Qi began with a dark, pessimistic mindset. Our Gloomy Girl has slowly learned that her selfishness and want can be guided to noble purpose. Cai Renxiang has been slowly convincing her that seeking to create a better world isn't impossible, and Sixiang has been helping her learn that seeking better and deeper relationships is worth striving for too. Ling Qi's dark outlook and pessimism is bolstered by her white dot, her noble and driving core of yearning for something better, despite all her expectations.

They truly seem motivated to support, understand, and learn from one another, and they have so much more they can contribute materially, intellectually, and emotionally. I really dig the concepts and aesthetic of their dynamic.

Thunder Palace Sauna
Since the Thunder Palace chapters are coming out in Royal Road, I got inspired.
"The chamber they emerged in was all polished wood, save for the stone floor, filled with benches and buckets and hanging plants. All manner of spirits lazed about in a state of ill dress, and… Did she spot a disciple or two scattered about? Was this kind of sauna?

Ling Qi flushed and spied an exit, flashing toward it in a twist of wind and shadow, leaving a burst of frozen air and outraged yelps behind as she darted off down the passage. Qiu thundered after her, paws striking sparks in the air as he galloped after her with his tongue out, Yu Nuan holding frantically to her back."

Thief of Names
Before the Nightmare of the Emerald Seas, a long glittering mantle of green and black blew in a phantom wind, borne by a tall, tall shadow. A crescent smile, white teeth in the dark, and a half mask of liquid moonlight in the stylized shape of a hart. Twelve pointed antlers of shadow and mist emerged from a swirling halo of starlit hair. In one hand the shadow cradled a book of crumbling black leather, its pages split by a trailing crimson marker, and in the other, a jauntily held spear, its gleaming head leaned up upon a shoulder.

Quite Forward Ling Qi
What's in the box under the hat?

Xuan Shi coughed and doffed his hat, revealing a head of short black hair, split by a short ridge of white bone that began at his forehead and disappeared beneath his collar in the back.

he blush
I like that my brain seems to have settled on a pretty consistent face for him, though this is not the last Xuan Shi design you'll see from me.

@yrsillar omake for the omake throne, and congrats on the book announcement!

Bai Meizhen, Cai Renxiang, Sun Liling portraits
Well I've been working on this for a month now and finally finished. @yrsillar

I did this using a combination of Nightcafe AI art generator and Photoshop. Considering I had never completed a project on either program when I started it was quite the challenge. Not even counting the 3 times I lost my work on BMZ or the fact that I had to delete the scars I put on SLL. I tried other characters to like lingqi, xuanshi, and jaromila but I coudn't get the AI to create an image I liked and all my progress got deleted when I had to reset my phone and those werent saved to my computer. I may try again once I get over my technical difficulties.
Here's what the AI gave me:
