Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Meng married an ice lady way way back in the day when bao told us about a music girl on our date, I can only imagine how much suffering the poor boy is going through with the Clan scouring every inch of their archive with a hint about her shoveling all that knowledge into his brain like a trash can while vein tied up...
All because of little ole us :V
[X] Accept the offer, you can convince Renxiang and sponsorship from even a faction of a count house is a valuable thing.

I think we should be careful.
A retainer will undoubtedly have a lot of influence and it could result in huge problems if the wrong person gets a position close to CRX.

We can say that we will try to convince CRX but I think we should also be very honest with CRX and not try to pressure her. This would only lead to a bad descision on her part. CRX has a lot more experience and knowledge of politics. If we present the offer in a neutral way she will be able to decide on the optimal strategy.

This isn't trying to convince CRX to take the meng boy on as a retainer site unseen, it's convincing CRX to take him on the expedition where he'll have a chance to impress CRX and convince her to let him join as her retainer. It's basically asking for a job interview.

I know but the way we present it will have a big influence on how CRX will treat this whole situation.

An other unknown is how this will impact our Bai relations. It seems that the Meng want to improve the relationship with the Bai but we don't know enough about this whole situation. There could be some unknown history (to us at least) between the Bai and Meng that prevents better relations. If we do not know about this and are too frendly to the Meng it coud lead to problems with Bai.

The Bai are more important than the Meng right now. We should make sure that they are ok with this before we confirm that this grandson comes with us.

I lean towards accepting. This is still the most small potatoes we can have at this level of politics. People have already mentioned the necessity of skilled personel being sent and how their candidate reflects upon the Meng.

Cai needs to be relevant to politics, and doing so here gives her a much better shield against incompetence.

Arguments for it seem sound so;

Unless you wanna just throw the Meng to the Bai and let them do whatever, you kind of have to have Meng opinions if you want the Alliance to work out.

Gonna assume the Funny ratings were for posts that voted to 'Decline' the offer, since there doesn't seem to be much to warrant it in the past few pages?
