Super Robot Quest

Probably not a good idea, IMO. We have a chance to get our less-experienced pilots a first engagement supported by another Super Robot, and that's not something we can get easily. Having a possible base defense ticking is an even better reason not to deploy.
I was actually posting hypothetically. And I completely agree with you about keeping Callaghan and Beowulf home if there is problem, Another thing to remember is that there are other Elements present at the base as well like Ichiro, Argonauts Galbinus and crew.

For once, the All-Seeing AI trope works in the players' favor.
at this rate we are probably going to have to design an AI to keep an eye on this kind of stuff 24/7 later on. Hopefully things cool down enough that we can spend a few months getting things back into order and our more problematic stuff dealt with.

So far our estimation is that Sheol is operating in an underwater base somewhere, The Free Brother's warship is either hiding in orbit somewhere or underwater as well. The Westphalian's are literally hiding in plain sight and its only been because we have not been as big of a thorn in their side like Mander is that we haven't faced significant Westphalian infiltration or attack.

I mean.

We did get a Westphalian attack though, we just saw them coming and wrecked them in the face.

I suspect this is either a Free Brother Reprisal for the Bandit Thing or something completely new.

Doubtful that it's the free brothers, they would have been very careful to check for trackers on everything that was brought back. Same for the Kailju since they are elsewhere preparing to attack. Course that doesn't dismiss the possibility of another Kaiju attacking. Honestly it's probably Westphalia or something mundane like an earthquake

Could be a previously unnoticed Fourth Party getting stuck in so we have our own Nemesis instead of just joining in other people's shows.

Aerogaiters? Inspectors? The sky's the limit!

We already have a fourth faction, remember the Regent, we don't know what is going on with that thing. So it'd be a fifth unknown faction if there is pne

But I don't think it's one. It's probably one of the three known factions

Well, maybe, we'll find out soon enough no doubt. At least we're able to see it coming.

Yeah. I was planning to spring a surprise on you all given some of the backround rolls I was doing.

And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for that meddling security AI.
Westphalian Agent: With this Drill Dozer, we will enter the enemy base undetected and destroy the super robot!
*Emerges in the center of the base surrounded by every gun in the arsenal.*
Westphalian Agent:

I will try to have a post out today.

But, uh, SRW 30th Anniversary Edition comes out today, so…

Tomorrow.

We get it tomorrow because our suffering must be made more severe.

(Though I'm liable to vanish in a hole myself when it drops, it's my first time getting to play a true SRW game in english and I am damn well going to enjoy it)

I do hope we're not forced into Real Robot mode though by the Huckbein 30 being the starter, I like my Super Robot protags!

(Definitely going with Az though, Edge is trying too hard and her theme is a bop)

I got mine in Steam (amazed it's even showing on the US steam servers!), and it's supposed to open for downloads in about four hours (maybe 28 OCT is referring to Korea/Japan time?).

Either way, I was very pleased with the lineup (especially the concept GaoGaiGar follow up to FINAL past Betterman). I did NOT see Ultraman becoming DLC but hey I'm all for it!

Concept?

GaoGaiGar vs Betterman is an actual webnovel with a manga adaptation coming in. It gets pretty wild apparently

THE POWER: "it turns out, all these years, I was sequetly evil!"

Huh. I only ever saw the concept art and notes for what would have been a follow on sequel series (GaoGaiGo specifically). Hadn't realized it was ongoing thing but hey, glad to hear it.

(Another reason to curse my job - not enough time for my hobbies)

Also, fully agreed on the OC - I'm not super convinced by the Huckebein design (the face plate is remarkably silly), but the female protagonist theme is damned catchy. Who knows? Maybe there's a Grungust hiding in the wings somewhere.

I think the current theory on that little bit is...

The Battleship unfolds Macross Style into the Grungust 30, people noted it's got the same color scheme and some of it's weapons resemble the Grungust's

What I want to know is--where's the Gespenst 30? The first SRW protagonist Original Mech was the Gespenst, which was either specced as a Real Robot or a Super Robot depending on what you picked in character generation, and then your mid-season upgrade was the Huckbein or the Grungust.

I think the first OG mech though was Cybuster, that was in SRW 3 I think?

As close as we'll get to the SDF series in this one then, I suppose? (I figured they couldn't include Macross for this release due to the licensing nonsense it always suffers from in NA)

Still, not much else left but to give it a try when it goes live. I'm glad to see a bunch of the classic original characters come back (very happy to see Alteisen planned for a future release), and I'm curious to see how it plays out. Not sure I'm going to kill myself trying for a first time SR point run though.

Is it electromagnetic

You honestly don't know what the overall form or frame of Ground Pound's Super Robot is yet given the recent changes. Too soon to tell.

@Basarin since SRW 30 (HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!) is apparently influencing you a bit, if/when we get our own regularly "controlled" Battleship, will you use the system they have from the game apparently, where there's various modules that do various things and crew each bring special actions/abilities?

Let me play the game first and I'll give feedback on that - I've deliberately avoided looking at game mechanics in the PVs so it's a nice surprise for me.

That said, I'm definitely open to the idea!
