Faedium sounds like itd dovetail exceptionally well with Kausen Energy Shard production

[X] Victor Forge: Reconstructive Nanites

Gotta see what this can bring to the table that K-Scale can't

@Basarin curious, this there potential for more funding/resources if our project and government loans the patents for some of the more reproducible tech for civilian market? The internet for example used to be a military thing before became what it is today along with tons of other military projects.

I can only imagine the boom some of this tech could do from everything from construction to computing.

@Massgamer A lot of the technologies you come up with will eventually be introduced to the civilian market. But that's going to be in the future when the immediate crises have passed.

Which is a blanket way to also say that this could be quite a long time.

The Crystal sounds neat, and dangling a bit of C-Crystal in front of her sounds like it's going to be loads of fun.

Usefullness to Ground Pound... Limited overall. Sounded like they were planning to build more of a bruiser. A real Ground Pounder, while the increased Frame size would be usable in this scenario, I worry about the Crystal stability. I think for us we can resolve that by merging Faedium with our C-Crystal, but that would be a strictly Defense Force project. Beyond that the lack of a Prototype means more time and costs for Ground Pound while they're in the most fragile time of their project. They need to produce something usable quickly, or they'll get their funding cut off and funneled to a project that's bearing fruit, IE us. Though in that scenario we might be able to absorb them?

Alright, so, I really want to keep her. The possibility of C-Crystal+Faedium fusion sounds really great, and Faedium might be able to combo with our Kausen Shard tech as well, given both are energy storage mediums, and I think Kausen Shards are crystalline? And if we can get both those results off the ground, well, a triple combination of C-Crystal+Faedium+Shards seems like something that'd be absolutely amazing.

So, I'm kinda excited about this guy as well. If we can get nanites for our synthetic components and figure out kaiju regeneration for our k-class stuff, we could potentially have a mech that can fully regenerate from damage (excluding hits to special components like C-Crystal the nanites can't repair). I dunno, I'll have to see what this guy offers, but I think he could be a decent boost for our bots.

From what I understand, those decisions are being made at Higher Levels Than Us, as while a lot of this technology has incredible economic opportunities, it also has the potential to nuke entire industries and cause an economic collapse.
Our boss explicitly called out Kausen Shard tech as having the potential to cause the worst economic collapse in decades if mishandled.
We could do some lobbying, but it probably won't sway the movers and shakers unless we take the time to see which way the wind is blowing, which is likely to be time consuming to say the least.
Edit: Westie'd by the author.

I label it faedium. Don't ask why, I'm the one who discovered it, I get to name it."

So long as faedium can contribute to the project, we'll be more than happy to have you."

"Faedite," she corrects you.
First you introduce it as faedium, then you correct it to faedite. You're the one who named it, so which is it Mary?

Faedium sounds like it has potential synergy with Energy Shards and/or C-Crystals, and it being purely theoretical at this juncture while also being a power storage/conductor rather than a power producer means that it's not quite a fit for what Groundpound needs right now. So it's probably better if we scoop up Mary, in which case we're still looking for the most likely power source for Groundpound.

I totally had one name in mind and then mh mind completely did a backwards flip into a martial arts choreography. That's me having a derp moment. Fixing that. (The error. Not the mixup in my head, that lasts longer)

And fixed. Thanks for pointing out the error.

Speaking of errors and potential errors, what's the status on the Marine formation that was supposed to be working up? It's been a while since we were supposed to get them. Is it still happening, on hold for some reason, or have things gone to pot in the littorals and they can't spare the manpower right now?

"I'm hearing a lot of theoretical," you point out. Again, you know the rough gist of it, but you want to hear this all from the horse's mouth. "I understand you weren't able to make a lot of headway."

"Correct." Again, there is no variation to the monotone to her voice. Yet it drips annoyance and frustration all the same. "It needs funding. Needs facilities, dedicated staff. My university wasn't willing to do that. Neither were any of the authorities in Unity Station or any regional facility."
So I'm hearing here that it's called "faedium", and manufacturing it is quite the taedium.

I don't remember anything about a Marine Formation. What are you talking about exactly? and do you remember what update you read about it on?

It occurred to me that we have just finished fighting the Free Brothers and the Westphalian's, So we might be facing an imminent Kaiju attack from Sheol soon. Hence why we might want to hurry getting the second platoon up and running. Do remember that this has happened once before where we fought all three enemy factions in the span of a year. So it might not be all that implausible that we will soon fact Sheol's monsters.
