[X] Plan back in the game again.

@Basarin, I think there was supposed to be an option to see how the other union sponsored super robot team mass-produced robot team is doing? Probably too late to add now though.

We did get straight up told, I believe, that our Security Net is as "Good as it's going to get for now". So investing there seems like a sub-par idea.

@HeavyBane

Some things did get missed, true. Those will be adjusted for following turns. I know I didn't catch everything and some flavor texts need to change, but I just ask you give it a turn to shake out. :p

And I was encouraging you to think on them rather than vote immediately. The vote itself for Mechanical Men will be in the event section and the results its own interlude. Kudos to @Not in Person for referencing them.

@TehChron, while it's an option, you're going off of the plans the Regent gave you. And chemically combustible one shot engines look downright quaint to it. :p

Haha, so silly Basarin.

Who needs to apply that kind of quaint stuff to a space capable platform, when the technology for miniaturization to, say...

Something on the scale of an APC

Would be a more valid use of such a propulsion system? One not angled for achieving literal escape velocity, but more towards high speed propulsion across a more, how you say, horizontal axis? :V

Mercury isn't going to be happy about taking the no!Scrander.

Just be glad im not trying to sneak in ways to turn the C-Crystals into Tek-Crystals :V

But nah, I think Basarin's figured out what I'm actually going for here. Scrander's already more or less accounted for with the Timberwolf Formation iirc.

Tell you what. I'll give you the option later to roll for it and try. No guarantees, as higher up will have...questions at best.

It worked in Armored Core and we'll have to do a rapid deployment ahead of the gunship eventually.

Regent: "What is this 'tek-crystal' and why does it worry me?"

Speaking of the Timberwolf. We really need to get the second Super Robot finished. We already have most of it complete there are just a few more things to finish with it IIRC.

@Basarin when will we have another chance to build a second corvette dropship for our second Super Robot and its team? Right now we only have the one and we had to rely on a nearby dropship to get our troops to New York when it was under siege by the Westphalians.

Perseus Core is done, my plan includes developing a combination form for it so it can fight as more than backup.

Beowulf has an upgrade coming down the line when we've upgraded the Seeker into something actually relevant in an SR battle where do a three-part Combination.

And they're all gonna get nice upgrades after we've finished cracking the Dragon's Horn and can start developing good weapon technologies. Plus whatever boosts we get from C-Crystal production and the upcoming Empathetic Focuser and Psi-Material Boosting.

It's called March to the Second Generation for a reason. We're finishing maturing our First Generation designs and getting the balls rolling on the Second.

Mercury, GO!
Very short snippet, unfortunately. But I am a little rushed. Not much on how Mercury himself attacks, but more flavor text is good, right?

Hope you enjoyed this. And everyone! Please have a safe and wonderful Holiday! :)

NDV Yi Sun-Sin, Kamchatka Peninsula

"There they are," the captain muttered. Not that he needed to mutter that at all - it was plain as day for everyone onboard to see. Even in the relatively stormy weather that had abruptly started to rage across this part of the Pacific, there was no mistaking what could be seen just slightly off to port.

Two large, hulking shapes, separated by some distance between them, looked to be wading towards the coastline. Each step was registering like haywire on the bridge's navigational and weather systems, each impact like a small surge warning. The pair of kaiju were simply marching, with no care or thought that anyone might even notice they were there.

Captain Cole Bran grunted - in the dimly lit bridge, only the pale green lights of the command consoles lit up anyone's face here at all. "I suppose, young lady, that you and the Yukimura Institute were dead on again," he said, turning to the representative from that perplexing organization. "As much as I wish you weren't."

"Just as well, sir." The young lady - Hamakawa Keiko - simply shrugged. If the captain was any judge, she likely had EUDF experience herself, but she declined to share any of that. "We had a 33% chance of being correct about predicting where they might be. Just our 'luck' that we caught them."

"I suppose you owe yourself a lottery ticket after this is over." Turning his attention back to the consoles, the captain made up his mind. He wasn't the Research Institute - he didn't have experimental weaponry, he didn't have anything onboard organic to his vessel that could hurt the kaiju. The Yu Sun-Sin was an escort carrier hybrid at best - good enough to patrol by itself, fast enough to run away in the face of danger, but not enough to engage and destroy targets, not by itself. And any attempt to send out aerial reconnaissance in this weather was a nonstarter - they'd just crash themselves into the rocks in these conditions.

He didn't care how good the V-33s were turning out to be. He was not taking the risk of sending out his pilots in this weather.

What they did have was the one thing that had proven for years that it could kill the kaiju.

"Is Hiroki ready for launch?" Bran demanded.

"He's impatient," Hamakawa said with a wry grin. "Not that you'd notice."

"Then go ahead and give him the good news, if you'd be so kind," he said. Immediately turning his attention back to the bridge, he signaled to his executive officer. "General Quarters, all ahead full."

"Aye, sir. Sounding General Quarters," the second in command said crisply. "Engine deck, shift power. All ahead full..."

"Keiko, is that what I think it is?" Hiroki asked with a grin on his face. His dark blue pilot's uniform was already on, and he was already making to grab his helmet.

"Two kaiju, just wading through like it's Sunday morning," she confirmed. Bless that woman, always ahead of everyone else. "Captain Bran's already sent up the alert, but you probably heard already."

"Cleared to launch?"

"Go get 'em."

What graced Hiroki's face was a savage grin. "Music to my ears."

Kamchatka Peninsula

They had been told to destroy.

They did not know what to destroy. They did not know why it had to be destroyed. Just that something in that direction had to be destroyed.

The master had demanded. The master was not denied.

Even in the unlikely event of the
Mercury's interference, what was in that direction - what looked like a concentration of bright, blinding lights, so blinding and irritating it needed to be snuffed out - must be destroyed.

The master had demanded. The master was not denied.

But-

"MERCURY! GO!"

Falcon Mobile, Kamchatka Peninsula

If Hiroki was honest, he lived for this part.

Despite earlier misgivings about it, launching the Mercury's frame via the catapult system was not the most insane thing the Yukimuras had ever done. Remote controlling the rocket boosters from the Falcon Mobile to land in front of the kaiju...eh. He'd done worse.

Captain Bran had protested that flying the Falcon Mobile in these winds was crazy.

Well, guilty as charged, he guessed.

Because this would make even those nutjobs that Richard Callaghan worked with blanch...at least at first. Hiroki was reasonably confident that he could convince some of them to try just for fun.

"Falcon! CONNECT!"

Immediately nosediving, the mobile jet screamed directly towards the earth, just in front of where Mercury's 'face' should have been. Only at the last second did retrorockets kick into life, before the clamps connected. And the comforting sensation of the Falcon Mobile changing itself as it locked into place took over, with Hiroki's seat slowly shifting ninety degrees upwards.

What people would see, if they could in this awful weather, was that the Falcon Mobile was shifting itself into the now iconic eyes and face grill of the Mercury V. And the moment it latched into place, the entire cockpit lit up in a brilliant flash of light.

Mercury's fist slammed into an open palm, then assumed a boxer's gait. Some things became routine, even when you piloted a giant robot of kaiju death and destruction.

"Alright, beasties," Hiroki taunted. The ambient air from the Aeon Particles were already starting to lower the temperature around Mercury, slowly surrounding him in what looked to be a cold mist. "Who's first!?"
