Armistead is basically asking us for help here. The corruption and/or Westphalian infiltration must be really really bad if Armistead is pulling this sort of ruse.Publicly, he's against us.
Privately, he's... uhh... what.
Yep. My thoughts exactly.
What are we supposed to do with all these mixed signals?
"Well, I do." Armistead rolls his eyes. "You'd think it'd be the Navy that's hidebound to tradition, but no. The Air Defense Force, they're feeling the most threatened by what you're doing." You say nothing, so he takes that as his cue to keep talking. "Don't get me wrong. We needed a Super Robot, which is why I gave Louis my support to begin with. But…" Here, his jovial nature fades for a moment. "It's not so simple."
The Air Defense Force, they're feeling the most threatened by what you're doing."
So unofficially while this thing still has a few seconds of battery life, I
Peter's has never given us any indication that there's more to the dude.
Might be that he's Westphallan himself, but with the success of the Super Robot project he's seeing where the wind is blowing and has decided to sell out his co conspirators while keeping his own hands relatively clean? It seems that Armistead is alleging that the Air Force is deeply compromised by Westphalians separatists and he put on quite a show to convince Devin. Whether its true or not (and if he is acting or not) we already seen some warning signs when looked into the Air Force, so the suggestion to turn the baleful eye of IS towards the Air force is a sound suggestion anyhow.
(Unless they are also partly compromised and we need to use our own resources to investigate this?

If I remember a bit of trivia correctly, when Pickard appeared on Star Trek, people were asking something similar to: "Haven't they they fixed hair loss in the Super-Advanced Fictional Future?" The reply was: "The Super-Advanced Fictional Future is so Super-Advanced, that they decided such concerns are silly".That's still a problem in the future? Shame. Hopefully Mr. Carson can help Devin with that, even if some minor side-effects are caused.
I believe Devin writes those reports himself.
"E" stands for "Eventually, we'll see it in action, too".
Marvelous! I was expecting something along these lines, but this twist was much twist-ier than I imagined. The execution, the setup, and all.The White Noise Generator sputters, then dies, the background noise prickling at your senses slowly fading away. Without a word, Armistead sketches a wave at you before leaving.
…
…what the hell was that?
Crazy speculation: Air Force had a Super Soldier project in the plans, but the Super Robot wrecked all their ambitions and multi-million dollar investments. The Air Defense Force, they're feeling the most threatened by what you're doing.

I was trying to say "Who cares how much hair a badass has?", but got a little bit roundabout.Star Trek was weird yep. The new movies were way too serious though.
@Basarin I don't expect this to change anything but wasn't the v-33 that the Beowulf combines with able to attack by itself?
