Talking numbers for a bit, it appears that unless we inflict 6 damage on the dragon it will focus fire on the buildings. I expect Sasaki to comment on this in the update proper.
It seems that the Timberwolf is the correct choice here because it is better suited for a slug fests with minimum damage requirements. What with the free heavy weapon strike ability and burning knuckles plus the overall toughness.
We also did 13 damage in 3 turns, while Warlord only had 14 HP and the Kaiju is nowhere near finished. Sheol doesn't fuck around I guess; if only there was some sort of an ally which could cause an oxidation weather phenomena to help us by dispersing the acidic mist...
Other musing: when we fought the Westphalians we had some data on their capabilities, but against Bandit and this Kaiju we know nothing until we saw them in action. It makes sense given how we knew nothing about the Kausen and Sheol monsters are uniquely tailored; but it means we start each battle against them on the back foot until Sasaki learns to cast Analyze (I am not entirely joking, using metaconcert for information gathering is possibly in the cards).
Total results from the first three rounds comes to:
Dragon takes 13 17 damage
Foxhound takes 1 damage
Navel base takes 5 damage, heals 2 for a total of 3 damage
Given that there is a mistake in the damage tallying (it should be 17) and the dragon has damage reduction, if the then-Bandit wouldn't have fled mid turn he would be scrap after tangling for three rounds with the current-Bewoulf.
@Basarin, by the roll log we inflicted 6 damage on the first round, 7 damage on the second one and 4 on the third one for a total of 17 damage by my count.
Beowulf: "Open Wide!" Initiates with Energy Blaster double charge!
- Rolls: 1+2+5!
- The Dragon gets a mouthful of Kausen-grade ordinance! Hardened Scales applies: takes -1 HP per strike.
- Dragon sustains 3 HP damage! - Dragon is emitting Acidic Blood due to sustaining damage! Will roll 1d6 with a Threshold of 4-6 to inflict 2 HP!
Hopefully the Timber form can shrug off the acidic blood passive damage due the -2 damage reduction, as it it has a harder time to negate damage otherwise.

Thankfully we're doing something similar with the incoming psi-energy generators. Speaking of: we should have Devin tested to see if he can use Spirit powers from his spaceship at some point too, SRW-style.
Lastly, to dispose of that horn, I suggest combining the Blazing Fist's Inferno mode with the Lightning Sword's electro barrier, to get a sword on fire capable of easily cutting that horn, as well as getting a defensive barrier that will trash the kaiju once it retaliates with a physical attack, especially if it's a multi-strike.

Random observation: If the Regent can analyze potential users' personalities to choose those "of righteous heart", does that mean that most people in the base is potentially wicked/there's at least a mole hiding? Or, more likely, that it has very high prerequisites.
Still, I wonder how it will work with our Variable vehicles, if at all.

Naw, theres multiple levels of access. The Chosen One needs some obscure criteria its not telling anything about except that they MUST go back to its homeworld afterwards. Everything points to them being the long lost magical space princess, because thats the most simple criteria that it'd keep top secret even at the risk of being locked in a box and stuffed in a vault.
The Knights just need a suitably righteous heart, which points to them likely being intended to be for the royal heir's chosen lords and bodyguards, where the morality check is required because if you're giving someone the supersoldier treatment and putting them near your royals you'd damned sure make sure they have solid loyalties.

I dunno if the Sapient Device will be willing (or capable) of sharing itself with multiple people though, magical girl's accessories are usually locked to a single user.

Uh...based on the update it says it can enhance others. Not necessarily by being worn directly, but by some form of transmutation, its stated as upgrading a machine to be a knights' armor.
Think the Book of Darkness's Meister and Knight relations
You mean that thing from Nanoha A? Precisely I'm watching that show right now, so not completely sure what you're talking about, but I can make a guess.

Command Center Maintenance Bay
"Holy-!"
"What the hell, man!? That thing's massive!"
"Beowulf just looks like-"
"KNOCK IT OFF!" The entire crowd of maintenance flinched as they turned to face Ichiro (and hadn't he been annoyed when some overworked runner had called him Ichigo by mistake). "Yeah, that thing's massive. We get it. But panicking over it isn't going to do anything!" His purple optics bore into each and every worker that he could see. "Beowulf and Richard don't need that from you. Voicing that isn't going to help at all."
Chastened, all of the workers quieted down, only to again begin cheering as soon as the screen was obscured by the bright red flare of the Energy Blaster pack. Ichiro, crossing his arms, snorted to himself; apparently Richard had decided to go all out in the beginning. He couldn't say he blamed him; he probably would have resorted to the "fire everything" school of thought too.
Sitting on his shoulder, however, was a quiet Jessica Satsuma. Ichiro hadn't known her for very long, but he got the gist that it was through her that they worked with the Legion at all. He hadn't met any of them yet, but apparently he was a deadringer for them. Not that I'd know. I was born here. Still, she wasn't usually this quiet...
"Penny for your thoughts?" he asked. Jessica started, and glanced at him. "You're pretty quiet. Figured you'd be joining in with the cheering by now."
"...you ever feel like you should be out there doing something?" she mutters. Her legs just listlessly dangled off of the edge of Ichiro's shoulders, and she stared ahead at the large holo-display taking up the center of the maintenance bay. "Like, I've gone through all the training, I've helped keep things level between Galbinus and Major Devin...but I could be out there helping out. Somehow." She looked at Ichiro. "You ever feel like that?"
As he stared at the charging form of the Beowulf - a machine whose frame he shared - readying another massive blast at the kaiju, his fists clenched slightly. "Now that you mention it," he muttered, "I kind of do." The fists then relaxed themselves. "But that's not going to help us right now, I think. Let's just cheer him on, alright?" He offered a small smile to the human. "It'll be our turn soon enough, I think."

Naval Base San Diego
"Step One: give kaiju an energy detox mouthwash!"
The Beowulf's engines snarled with every inch of ground it covered as it desperately weaved around the rampaging form of the kaiju. A rampaging kaiju, he added, which was royally pissed off at him.
"Step Two: keep his attention on me and not the drydocks!"
Immediately shifting gears at the speed of thought, Richard's foot slammed hard on the brakes as he coaxed the Beowulf into a sliding skid, narrowly missing the bone-jarring impact of the kaiju's descending foot.
"Step Three: I didn't think the rest of this through!"
From the gaping wound now adorning the kaiju's cheeks, acid was just gushing out like weeping sores working overtime, and the ground before him practically dissolved to the touch. "Oh, crap! Configure, configure now!"
Using its momentum, the Beowulf went from driving blithely into an acid pit to performing a jumping somersault as it transformed, crashing to the (solid) ground past the acidic wounds into a rolling crouch. "Gah, that's gonna leave a mark!" he muttered. "Pegasus, I need the Falcon!"
"Understood," Captain Sasaki's voice said coolly. "Prepare for combination."
Confusion.
"Go," the master's voice said to it. The panoramic image of the food superimposed itself with the same image it saw in the distance. "Destroy."
Yet it could not. Not with this strange not-Mercury in front of it. Not when it attaches to the strange metal bird. Not with the pain they continue to inflict.
It must destroy not-Mercury, and its metal-bird. Or at least get it out of the way.
Then there will be no pain. And then there will be food.
Confusion fades. There is only clarity.
DESTROY.

Dockyard
"Haz-mat up! Haz-mat up!" the crew chief screamed, her voice muffled and distorted through the electronic speakers installed in the bulky suits. "Get those suits up, and-!"
She was immediately cut off by the warehouse near the crew collapsing in on itself. Parts of the building looked to be melting from acid, all hanging around the dockyard area like a foul mist. Additional acid began seeping through the newly created openings in the warehouse, and into the damage control equipment inside.
"Okay, screw this one," the chief muttered. In the distance, the now flying Super Robot the spooks had cooked up jumped up into the sky with a burst of flame as the kaiju blasted through where the robot had stood just a moment ago. The horn on the damned thing was emitting a sickly green glow, as if it were building up for some kind of attack-
Bah, not her problem. She had to find more tools to contain the damage, and to make sure that Super Robot had a base left to save.
"Hurry the hell up!" she screamed. "Warehouse E! Move it!"

Debris Field, Battleground
"Using the last of the Energy Blaster!" Richard shouted for the record. The Foxhound's movements aligned nicely with his thoughts, and the 'bazooka' shifted its aim just so. The HUD being fed directly into his mind overlaid a charge meter that abruptly raised to 100%, matching up perfectly with the baleful red glow that was gathering at the end of the Blaster's barrel. "Energy Blaster, firing!"
A large sphere of red energy plowed its way through the air as he pulled the trigger. Swirling ever so slightly as it made its way towards the kaiju, the red sphere howled as it careened towards its target-
-only for the kaiju to edge its face to the right, just grazing it rather than plowing directly into its face. The ground around it erupted, sending additional chunks of smoke, broken concrete and water into a chaotic cavalcade around it. But the kaiju's only reaction was to shake its head and huff, as if it were just rolling its eyes at the attempt.
"Oh, come on," Richard complained. Dropping the now empty Energy Blaster, the Charged Cannon emerged from its holster on the Foxhound's back. Bringing the Charged Cannon to bear, he muttered to himself, "Does Mercury V have to go through this crap every time one of these things comes out of the water!?"

"A-choo!"
"Bless you, Hiroki."
"Thanks, Cap'n. Geez, I swear someone's talking about me. How much longer till we get there?"
"Not too long, I think."

Pegasus Command Bridge
"The Dragon is still trying to make its way towards the drydocks!" Dana reported from the console to Haruko's right. Even this name was a bit much for Haruko, but she went along with it; calling it 'the kaiju' or 'that creature' was starting to get a little old. The rounds from the Charged Cannon impacted directly onto the creature, but aside from the electric shocks coursing through it, it didn't seem all that perturbed by the electricity.
"It only paid attention to Callaghan when it inflicted enough damage," Haruko said thoughtfully. From the satellite feed, she saw the Foxhound charging in for a flying punch to the jaw, only for some of the scales on the creature to shift, deflecting a high-impact blow into merely shifted weight. "And those scales didn't react until now..."
"Maybe it was made thinking Mercury V was going to be here?" Ivanna commented. "I would imagine it was probably built with its capabilities in mind..."
"Must mean that alloy they use has some give with acidity," Lana said from her terminal. Looking up, she pinpointed a few structural points on the Dragon. "But this still makes no damned sense! The whole thing is leaking acid like it's blood, but it should have just melted itself by now!"
"I think kaiju physiology is just living BS to begin with," Diana muttered before looking up at Haruko. "Ma'am, requesting permission to provide supporting fire."
"Granted," Haruko said. "Draw its attention away from the facilities!"
"Won't...won't that just make it mad at the Lieutenant?" Ivanna fretted, her avatar poking both index fingers against each other.
"That's a chance I think we're all willing to take," Lana said cheerfully.
"All hands, this is the Bridge," Diana said with the force of authority now granted to her by Haruko. "Batteries One, Three, Five, adjust ninety degrees to Port-side and wait firing solutions...."

Naval Base Facilities Outskirts
"Are you seriously that hungry that you're going to ignore everything we do to you!?" Richard grumbled in frustration. Again, he might have been imagining it, but a small snarling shudder in the engines sounded an awful lot like a chuckle. "I throw alien energy at you, I punch you in the throat, I electrocute you with a gigawatt and a half and you're still trying to go for the drydocks!?"
"Lieutenant, this is Diana," the military AI chimed in, her avatar briefly intruding into the mental HUD. "Stand clear, incoming support fire!"
"Oh." Without another word, the Foxhound's thrusters were punched hard in reverse as Richard interposed himself between the shipyards and the walking property damage clause that was the Dragon.
A moment later, the telltale red suns of the Energy Blasters slammed directly into the Dragon's back. Adding to the general chaos of bits of scale, flesh, water and concrete slamming upwards into the air, the kaiju reared its head back and screamed in pain, shattering even more windows in the general vicinity. The chaos only increased when fiery lances from the First Wing slammed all around the kaiju's form, only for the rounds to impact harmlessly against its scales.
As the TMUs broke off, however, Richard finally noticed something he probably should have earlier.
"Why is the horn glowing even brigh-?"
Something in the MMI screamed at Richard to be "ANYWHERE BUT HERE!"
"OH, SHI-!"

Command Center Bridge
"Oh for cripes' sake," you mutter as the massive beam of "SCREW YOU WITH ACID" slammed into the building Callaghan had been standing in front of just a moment ago. The building melted, with solid red brick foundations dissolving into a disgusting green liquid sludge that dripped into the sewage systems. The Foxhound was desperately juking to get away from the beam and aim it away from anything important, and the Dragon's head simply followed it, the beam sweeping along with its gaze.
Yet it began to spasm abruptly, as if some muscle group decided its neck didn't need to be on the clock. The Dragon's neck muscles cramped, and its aim was forcibly aimed at a nearby building that met a similar fate to the first building.
"Oooh, there goes the Officer's Club," you wince. "Think they had some vintages from 1999 in there."
"There's another thing to hold against Sheol," Sam commented. As the beam dissolved, and the Dragon shook off the residual shock, he commented, "That thing's gonna be out for blood if the behavior of the other ones on record hold true-"
The Dragon roared bloody murder as it charged directly at the Foxhound claws first, murder apparent even from the long distance cameras.
"Yup, out for blood," Sam shrugged.
"It's going to be awhile if it keeps trying that way," you mutter as you see the nimble form of the Foxhound weaving through and around the massive limbs trying to swat it into the ground like a particularly annoying mosquito. "We're already doing a hell of a lot better than the last fight."

Makeshift Barriers
"Eh, screw it," the chief muttered as the crew readied the Rupture Foam launchers. "Brass can buy booze at the store like the rest of us." She waved forward the launchers. "Ready Rupture One!"
"Rupture One Ready!"
"Fire!"
"Firing!" From a shoulder mounted launcher, a large pack of self-releasing rupture foam slammed into the nearest pack of acid. A moment later, the densely-packed foam released, spraying containment foam all over the encroaching acid-y death. "Rupture One good! Reloading!"
"Fire on your own time! Keep it away from the power control box!"
Above them, the flying Super Robot caught what looked to be a giant cannon mid-air, and-did it just literally summon a lightning bolt out of a clear sky for dramatic effect? The crew chief just stared for a few moments as what looked like railgun rounds slammed into the Kaiju. She only sighed when she saw even more acid spill from the wounds it inflicted. That's going to be more work.
Turning towards another technician, she snarled, "What's taking you so long with that!?"
"Chief, I forgot the code!" he wailed. "I got 'November, November, Delta, Delta, Whiskey, Echo, Whiskey, Echo! Was it Bravo then Alpha or the other way around!?"
"Pegasus, this is Callaghan!" More rounds from the Arc Cannon slammed downrange into the Dragon, blowing more chunks of flesh and scale off of the giant beast. Yet for all the harm and damage he'd dealt to it, Richard had this sinking feeling they had quite awhile to go. "Foxhound formation's not cutting it! I need the Shepherd out here!"
"Roger that," Diana said. "Inbound now. If you're going to shift, now's the time!"
"Right." He sighed as the mental HUD linked the Shepherd's trajectory to his. "Mode Change! Combine, Steel Formation!"
Immediately he felt his stomach lurch as the Falcon detached itself, only slightly dented for its trouble, as it folded back into the V-33 configuration with the Arc Canon in tow. Yet as he fell into a freefall, he saw the Shepherd already boosting itself upright, ready to receive the Beowulf. He couldn't help but grin. Been awhile, ol' friend. Ready to kick some ass?
Even as more of the acid splattered against the Shepherd's standing form, the steely blue of the Heavy Zirvitium didn't even scratch. "Steel Combination!" he announced, the head unit of the Beowulf emerging just in time for the helmet to fall in place-
-and just like that, his senses expanded once again. Slamming a massive fist into an open palm, the Timberwolf then began to stomp towards the Dragon, who was -
"Hey!" Richard roared. "You don't get to ignore me! Get back here!"

"We're never getting this fixed," the Chief grumbled as the entrance to the truck depot just melted.

Step 1: Activate Inferno.
Step 2: Activate Lightning Sword plus shield.
Step 3: Have a sword on fire cut the horn.
Step 4: Brace for the counterattack.
Step 5: Watch the Kaiju electrocute itself with multi-attack.
Step 6: ???
Step 7: PROFIT!
Richard needs to do a minimum amount of damage per turn and hold out until Mercury V arrives to accomplish this mission objective.
Fortunately, he is currently in the Timberwolf configuration which is better at dishing out consistent amounts of damage.
My hazy outline is to open up with the heavy weapon strike and start wailing on the Kaiju with the sword. During the recharge turn call the battleship for help so we can have a consistent heavy strike+4 normal strikes per round.
Probably should talk about wether to target the horn and how to use the inferno/electro magnetic shield but the broad strokes is to attack the Kaiju hard enough so that it would stay focused on Callaghan and ever so slightly lead it away from the docks.
EDIT: Probably should commit the Extra Reflexes re-roll to defense to make sure that Timberwolf would avoid the Kaiju's big strikes, while committing the intuitive re-roll to make sure Callaghan lands enough hits to distract the Kaiju.
If it doesn't it's still better to lead with the Arc Blade, because if it will be targeted it would be disabled for two turns which is coincidently the amount of time Inferno will lasts. Which lends itself to the narrative of Callaghan having his weapon broken, starts to beat up the Kaiju with his bare (flaming) fists.
Well, we might as well do some experimenting anyway.
[X] Hrunting the Dragon
-[X] Turn One: Arc Blade called shot to attempt to sever the horn while it should be recharging, Callagahn Reroll on this. Follow up with Demolisher free activation and a double Unarmed Strike, engaging Inferno as support. K-Suit Reroll on K-Scale save rolls. There may be wrestling moves involved in this, not sure what would be appropriate given the size difference.
-[X] Turn Two: Support fire from Pegasus and Longship wing, Beowulf will use one of his actions as a Called Shot to try and cauterize some of the blood spray with Inferno and his second action for a Double Strike, using the Callaghan Reroll to support the Called Shot and the K-Suit reroll defensively.
-[X] Turn Three: Switch to Arc Blade, as it should be back online if it was damaged earlier, go to town with it. Also, our free Demolisher proc. Rerolls distributed as usual for this exchange.
-[X] Conditional: Engage Electromagnetic Shield in response to super moves. Use Finishers when possible, spending any Callaghan Rerolls unspent on them.
