Hm....Black Arms....Metarex....Drakon....Xorda....Wisps....Bem....are there any other alien species that I'm missing?

Still, we have land, sea, and sky-bound threats to deal with.

Hm....Say....if we decide to negotiate with GUN and the Restoration (probably mostly the Restoration)....could we perhaps....grease the wheels with a gift? The cure for NIDS is one thing....perhaps a few airships as well? Yes, there is the possibility they could use them against us...but they'd still be OUR creations! Which would mean we would not even need to sabotage said gifts! We would just know what to do!

Though...this still means we need to build shipyards....and we can only do THAT once we get rid of the Zeti, reclaim all our factories and Badniks, hire additional labor (again, this is where Egg Army/Legion/Dr. Robotnik Appreciation Tribe/Lightning Bolt Society comes in)...

Hm.....On a different note....is there anything we can do to...fine-tune Orbot and Cubot? Cause I'd rather they not be helpless should the worst happen.

Well, we have that talk with gun coming up during the rival report reports

I already said what we should negotiate.

well, in character I don't think Eggman would particularly care if orbot and cubot got destroyed. and out of character I'd never trust them with a weapon they're way too stupid. so the only real option would be making them more durable.
They should never be close to a battlefield in the first place. So we really shouldn't need to worry.
This is true. Though...this DOES make me wonder....whatever happened to Orbot's predecessor SA-55? Was he shut down cause he was the prototype to Orbot?

Curiosity aside, perhaps we should improve Orbot and Cubot's durability AND add in safeguards so that they can't be hacked/controlled by external forces. They may not be our BEST creations...but they ARE useful...and I'd hate to lose them...

From what I can gather, SEGA kinda goes back and forth on whether SA-55 and Orbot are the same character or not

I personally subscribe to Orbot being SA-55 reprogrammed to be less openly insulting... Though it would be really funny is SA-55 was just, like, left in the basement or something like that Old Norm Head from Phineas and Ferb XD

I am pretty sure he IS Orbot just upgraded and reprogrammed slightly and repainted
Makes sense.

I just had an idea. With Orbot, Cubot, Stone, and Starline...we have some semi-competent lackeys! Why not go for the whole set across the Sonic franchise? Grimer...Snively (Either after he gets severely humbled OR we find his post-retcon self Julian)...Mecha...and anybody else I'm forgetting!

We will have a flourishing bureaucracy!

Hm....this actually brings a certain Sonic AU to mind....

Eggman: "Ah! SA-55! This is where I left you! I wonder if you still work?"

SA-55: "Ah, if it's the man who can't beat a single Hedgehog no matter what he builds."
HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHA!

Eh, to be fair, I would say it's rather telling a guy who values efficiency as much as Eggman doesn't just scrap the two

Keep in mind, even if they didn't do much, they were still around in that six months Eggman ruled the world even though he had no real need for assistants at that point, plus in the time skip between Colors and Generations, Eggman accidentally abandoned them in space, but they popped back up in Lost World, implying Eggman went through the reaches of Space to collect them despite the insane amount of effort that would probably take

While I don't think he would mourn them for long, or be as affected as his other creations, I do think Eggman on some level would be upset if they were permanently lost, not that he would admit it.

Edit: At least, that's my personal interpretation.

....Now you guys got me imagining Orbot & Cubot pulling a heroic sacrifice and Belle insisting they throw a funeral for them despite Eggman not wanting to, and the process of doing so actually makes Eggman reflect on the loss of his second oldest creations

Thanks guys, I needed to be sad/j

According to Shadow Generations, those two somehow, someway found their way into the white void.

We really dunno how, but they somehow did.

They are harder to get rid off that a cockroach.

On the other hand my personal headcanon is that Eggman realized he was going insane due to not having anyone to make talk with and decided to make them just so he could gloat to someone when planning his stuff.

Like unless it is the E-100 series all badniks are mute, the shadow androids means you have to stand talking to a guy as arrogant as shadow.

And Metal doesn't really make a really great talk partner.

Eggman: "...no, Belle. I do not believe I will be at that funeral you're planning."

Belle: "Doctor! Even after all they've-"

Eggman: "After all, I'll be to busy extracting retribution upon those fools that killed them."

*nope*

not happening, no way in heck.

We will invent a time machine and drag those two idiots back from the digital grave if we have too. We are Doctor Ivo Robotnik, and they perish when we give the say so!

plus they have been ironically competent so far, more so than starline at this point in most cases! funnily enough i keep getting the idea of eggman making a sort of reciever/pesudo reincarnation device that allows for useful badniks to be rehoused into new frames if their older shells get destroyed or something, sort of having a passive back-up system in place for them to reincarnate or something.

also Metalix versus Neo Metal is probably one of the most amusing things to think of, because how terrifying Neo can get once he defeats his old self and the good doctor takes a look at metalix and sees what upgrades to implement!

would be a great bonding time with Isara and Sage!

Hey I was just watching Sonic the Hedgehog movie (2020) and a idea popped into my mind, do you think there's any of that Sonic's quills are in Green Hill Zone? Because it kind of fits into the idea of Eggman trait/habit of using Mystic(?) as power sources and a single quill of his greatest enemy powering his own robots?

Oh the irony... and all we need to do is lock into their signals, we even have the memory of the Eggman I did that!

Most badniks do have something resembling basic emotions. For example Egg Pawns are capable of feeling fear and be surprised o the occasion.

Badniks are also 100% capable of developing intelligence if left alone even Belle uses badniks programing.

Speaking of badniks surprise Eggman don't show a interest why his counterpart still use animal battery despite the badniks being essentially the same as his own besides some minor cosmetic changes. If going by Sonic Lost World there's specific standards for animals to serve as batteries and may be because why he go around collecting so much of them in the Classic Era is because only a fraction of them can serve as batteries.

Not to mention Sonic and his friends wreck havoc on his supply line by opening the capsules before they get to his factories.

Clove and Storm no doubt would find odd and probably a bit surprised we are not using them anymore. Since Post-SGW!Eggman still use animal batteries well in the modernity.
