Negative Loyalty
Chuck Thorndike leaned back in his chair with a sigh, folding his fingers on his chest. The Shattering had thrown everyone for a loop, several different worlds all smashed together into a coherent whole, it was so wonderfully interesting! If was able to reasearch it he could if not for…
"Get off your butt old man! My mecha needs a shining!"
Chuck sighed, the Deadly six. Unfortunately for him they were the first people he ran into and somehow had captured his grandson as well, so he was forced to help them. To repair their machines, steal what isn't theirs and…he grit his teeth as their many crimes ran through his head, then sighed once again.
Eggman exists, or existed in this world before. The Deadly six are currently using the Doctor's abadoaned equipment for their own ends and force him to make a virus to take control of all of it. His experience with his own version of the doctor allowed him to whip something up, although he added a few extra things.
See the usual command structure of the badniks goes: Eggman, then everyone else. The Deadly six made him but them at the top of the structure, which he did to protect Chris…but what he didn't tell them is that they weren't at the very top.
The badniks obeyed him above them. The Doctor's entire army was at his command if he so decided…if only that was enough.
The Zeti, as he found they were called, were technopaths. Even if he gave the order they could just override it with their powers and kill him. Leaving them at the top without anyway to check them, and more than that they had Chris…he couldn't risk his grandson.
Not even as the Zeti wrecked havoc over Green Hills hurting so many people with his help…Heaven help him he was sorry so so sorry…but he wouldn't couldn't go against them.
Not on his own.
So he sent out drones, badniks, signals on outdated radios to get help from somewhere anywhere!
And then-
"Citizens of Green Hills!" A young voice resonated, belonging to what seemed to be a child. "We came to make an announcement!"
He was back. Eggman was back.
Heh ha hahahahahahahaaa…it really was a sorry day that he was happy to see that man, but if anyone could stop these monsters it was him.
"EGGMAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!"
Chuck winced as Zavoc screaming in rage. He had pieced together Six's history with the doctor, it…wasn't particularly pretty though he didn't feel too bad for the Zeti.
More important was that with Eggman's return they were going to go after him with everything they had, and that gave him an oppertunity.
"Sliver sonic come here!"
Outside of the Zeti themselves this machine was the best thing they had. Zavoc would undoubtably bring it with him to attack the doctor. If it suddenly failed in the middle of the battle or even switched sides…
A few additions to the Eggnet, a few holes in the control virus, and a few new orders should help ensure things go well, and if they didn't…well it's not like he could be blamed for the doctor's actions.

AN: Loyalty is on a scale, and doubt the D6 have done anything to bring Chuck's out of the negatives. It's…unfortunate that everyone who might catch on is either indisposed, uninclined or mad with rage.
For them that is.
