Hrm...okay yeah I definitely need to think on this more cause that's not what I meant.

No, no, no, no ,no.....!

If we are are to rise 'Daddy Little Villian', then the only role-models we want to point at - besides ourselves naturally! - are David Xanatos and Air Spin Sher Khan and Spectacular Spider-Man Tombstone!

Anyone else just doesn't have enough common sense - even Luthor, due to his obsession with Superman.

*Looks up the ones I don't know* Oh those are very good options. Good taste Gru.

But yeah, more like that.

Someone with a goal, and is willing to do nasty things for that goal provided that said nasty thing will progress her goal.

Like say:

(Holding Imperials at gunpoint)
Isara- "Are you willing to surrender and work for a world where all are prosperous and treated well?"
Imperial 1- "Never you dark haired demon!"
Isara- "Unfortunate." *Shoots him* "What about you?"
Imperial 2- (Slightly terrified) "I'm all for that yes!"
Isara- "Great welcome to the team."

Oh, similar to Difer's logistics post on the last page, there's also some debate on the brains action, I think most people want to do the cure with Sage (and correct me if I'm wrong), so this is about the non-Sage brain action.

Mark this post with a heart for Ragnite Kits or a Insightful for The Lance.

EDIT: Please don't vote on this post if you already have on the Discord, especially since some people have different usernames here and on there. Consistent and fair tallies and all that.

Just putting my finger on the scale but the ragnite kits won't be very useful for our next adventure as the tournament fights don't do hp damage

Personally I'd prefer Sage on the Lance but that's only becuase of higher bonuses. Still want the Lance more than the kits...though doing well on any Ragnite option would likely make that easier...hm.

...Are we waiting on the more sweeping upgrades until we get the relevant resources?

And were we going to work on Sage's birthday present or no?

Eggman: "Well that's just a description of me. That's literally just me. I'm already her role model."
Isara: "No. No you are not."
Eggman: "I'll liberate another 3 camps if you say I am."
Isara: "Yessir, I look up to you entirely!" ("...am I this easy to bribe?!")

Without Belle New
This omake was inspired by discussion that happened in the Discord on a certain subject "What might have happened if we didn't pick up Belle?"
(also @Boohoo the 3rd as the one whose interest helped keep me writing this and came up with one or two of the ideas I implemented)

Here's my take:

Without Belle

(Turn 1)

You are Belle the Tinker and you are alone.

As you passed by countless trees at the side of the path you found yourself admitting that it had actually been like this for months now; when your father disappeared after the Shattering, the last anyone having seen of him being running away, gripping his head, you didn't know what to do so you tried to keep some semblance of the life you knew before. You lacked any sort of tracking skills so you'd done what you could; you'd kept the house in good repair, you'd helped the villagers where you could even as you noticed them looking at you with suspicion, you'd been the dutiful daughter and waited for your father's return.

Only he didn't return.

Only the villagers' suspicious looks turned to whispers and more.

Only home started to not feel like home any more.

Then it all came to a head recently; an explosion had shaken Windmill Village from the uneasy sleep as they tried to deal with the stress of the new situation. People had huddled together, and peeked out of windows in fear only for nothing to happen.

Come morning light, a scared group of mishmash volunteers had ventured out in the direction the sound came from. You'd been in your house when they return, looking at the picture of you and your father when the commotion outside had drawn you out; one of them was wildly waving about a scrap of metal that bore an oddly familiar logo on it.

From there, everything was a blur; panic, shouts, accusations and more but most importantly of all that one repeated word, "Eggman". The way they said it felt like a curse.

A strange energy had started to fill the crowd as they glanced between each other and her, hands making motions towards nearby objects.

Words lost their meaning as they reached you from the confusion you felt, until they snapped back to horrifying sense when Elder Scruffy spoke up, looking at you with kind, regretting eyes as he spoke of banishment. You could tell he didn't like what he was doing, even if it was the best and safest option for everyone involved.

And so, you'd left; not wanting to risk a riot, you didn't go back into the house to grab a bag, leaving you with nothing more than the clothes on your back and the picture you'd thankfully still been holding through the whole ordeal.

You didn't know much of the outside world, only that you needed to be away from there; the road was uneven and strange to you but maybe there was some kindness out there. Maybe you could find out what happened to your father.

.

You are Doctor Eggman and you are currently muttering various plans for punishing your imbellic assistants under your breath as you travelled on foot, clothes smoking and the main body of your hover egg over your shoulder.

Cubot and Orbot's latest incompetence frankly shocked you; that your vehicle had destructed from such a small impact was unthinkable. Still, with current shortages, you couldn't afford leave it behind and just make a new one so you abandoned the idea of getting more from the Village and simply focused on minimising this loss.

There had been an odd feeling calling to you to continue your trip but you'd simply shaken your head at the illogic of it; whatever had been left behind by your lesser self couldn't be that important.

.

(Turn 2)

You are Belle the Tinker and you have recently found that kindness might not be as common as you had previously thought. Everywhere you went there was only more suspicion that would turn to outright hostility when you described your father.

Beyond that, there were all sorts of dangerous things going on that you really didn't want to be any part of; Alien's wanting to blow things up, and Empire invading to take over and treating people so terribly, and countless small troubles that had come from the world shifting as it had.

That last part had been relevant to you, even if they didn't fully trust you, trading your ability to tinker and fix things up was enough that people would give you tidbits of information, advice on where to go, and some spare supplies here and there. These little glimmers did help you stay hopeful.

You let out an exhale from where you sat leaning against a wall, having just repaired a playpark for the settlement you were currently in; this adventuring stuff wasn't like the stories. You were built for tinkering, not this. You hadn't learned anything of your father and the way people acted when you asked about "Eggman" was made you unsure if you really wanted to know.

Methodically moving your fingers in front of your face to anchor yourself in the moment, you let out another sigh as you decide to move on before you lost the will when a shadow gets in the

"Oh, hello, Miss Belle, was it? I wanted to thank you for fixing the park but that was a big sigh you just let out. Are you okay?"

You looked and found a young Rabbit Mobian standing over you, you waved a hand dismissively and tried to come up with a polite way to not have to explain but didn't have time before she spoke again.

"I'm Cream, would you like to talk about it? Mama says that it can help a lot."

The earnest kindness shocked you enough that you found yourself talking, in a slightly roundabout way, about your situation and what had happened; you didn't mention Eggman or describe your father out of fear that this innocent hand reaching out to you might be drawn away because of it. Early on in your tale, the girl had taken a seat next to you as she listened attentively.

"So, you don't have anywhere to go?"

You shook your head, "I have to keep looking for my father; it's..."

The Rabbit placed a hand on yours and looked up at you with wide eyes, "Sometimes the best thing to do on an adventure is to make a base and think things through; you can't do that if you're always on the move. Maybe it'd help if you had somewhere to plan your next move."

"No one wants me around and I wouldn't want to impose; I'll find something if I..."

"How could you say that about yourself!? You're a wonderful person Miss Belle and I won't let anyone talk liked that about my new friend."

The Rabbit hopped, still holding your handing and started dragging you along with her.

"Now come on, I'm taking you to Mama."

Out of sorts from the situation, you allow yourself to be pulled along to the girl's home.

.
You are Clove the Pronghorn and you have entered the devil's grasp once more.

He is not exactly the same as the Eggman you knew, the fact that he immediately moved to study Cassia's disease was promising but the similarities were undeniable and his aims were the same as ever. There was certain to weight to the atmosphere of the base, even with the red and yellow 'bots attempts to greet people.

The new hire, Canaan, was distant, having only humoured them a little before leaving to get settled, and the engineer, Isara, had been picked up by Metal Sonic was understandably nervous, having herself bartered her service for future action. Clove did feel for the girl but she wasn't going to try pushing for anything more while Cassia was at risk.

The fact that the Doctor had seemingly accepted these terms might indicate things might not be quite as bad here but even still, the oppressive presence remained the same.

.

(Turn 3)

You are Belle the Tinker and this is strangely surreal to you,

You're sitting at a table alongside, Cream, Cheese, Chocola, Gemerl, and, the newest addition, aside from you, Giselle, who you had helped repair as a radio played soft music in the background. Ms. Vanilla was in the kitchen preparing a meal for the ones who ate, while general chatter took place around the table... by which you meant that Cream was hopping from one topic to the next while the rest of you were still a bit awkward.

"... and it really is strange to hear about; I mean, obviously I hope Mr. Shadow gets better but I never would have thought that Miss Lanolin would win like that..."

Throughout this, Gemerl still glances at you every now and then while Giselle seems content to remain silent.

"... which was really fun, you guys think so too, don't you?"

The question caught you off guard as your mind raced to recall which topic Cream had been talking about most recently before you were thankfully saved by Vanilla entering the room with a tray of food; you didn't eat personally but it really did look good. The matriarch showed how good she was even as she ate with the way she started and prodded along a sedate conversation about each of your days.

It was a pleasant feeling situation, even if part of you didn't know how to take being treated like this; it felt good but part of you rebelled at the idea of another parent looking after you.

When the music from the radio suddenly changed and you heard the TV come in from the other; the voice singing is strangely familiar and you find yourself rushing into the living room to watch the broadcast. A young girl's voice makes the announcement clearly.

The return of "Eggman" is undoubtedly a big deal, you notice the gasps of shock from Cream and Vanilla, the way Cream and Chocola seem more alert, and Gemerl's tensing as if to unleash violence.

But these facts, along with the words and song, don't truly register to you instead your eyes are focused on the spectacle on the screen.

The man moving about to the rhythm in a strange yet fun and graceful way.

The shape of his body, the glasses, the moustache.

A hesitant hand reaches out as though it could grasp understanding of the situation, "... Dad?"

You hear Gemerl's head snap to face you.

.

Sage POV

You were Sage and you were you possibly your father's most beloved creation.

While there many others he'd created, it was your return that had brough him such joy. This feeling of being the favoured child truly meant something deep down.

And what better way to celebrate by announcing a successful return to the fray; Clove was a competent minion in taking over which led to the broadcast that you channelled your own joy into to share the wonderful news. The singing and dancing were a little surprising but you were happy that father had been having fun with it.

You'd even finally met Metal Sonic for real; he was a bit standoffish and awkward but it was good to interact with him. Likewise, Orbot and Cubot were amusing most of the time.

The organic minions seemed to be of decent quality to, each of a complimentary skillset.

You weren't entirely sure how to feel about Isara, though, with her engineering skill and the interaction; from your readings, there might be an implication that Father was interested in taking her under his wing somehow, which you weren't sure how to take.

You'd have to keep an eye on that…

.

(Turn 4)

You are Belle the Tinker and you are sitting awkwardly on a chair, fiddling your hands together.

"So that's how it is, huh?" the head of the Rabbit household spoke after you explained everything you knew about the situation.

You didn't want to interrupt as she took some time to think things through.

"No matter, there; I'm sure your father was a wonderful man even if he's not who he once was and we're certainly not going to judge you for where you came from." She gives a pointed look to Gemerl where he stands in the corner of the room with that.

You don't really want to ask but you feel you have to, "Could… could you tell me about Eggman, no one wanted to say anything when I asked but if that's who people are going to associate my father with, then I should know."

Vanilla is silent for a moment, looking into your eyes, searching and she doesn't ask if you're sure, she simply starts explaining.

About a man of ego and science.

About a hero called Sonic and the rivalry they shared.

Of the creation of wonders used in such terrible ways.

And then she speaks of the war; the disappearance of Sonic, the way he conquered most of the world and came so close to a total victory. During this part of the talk, Chocola climbed into Vanilla's lap and the Rabbit started petting him for comfort, even as her voice stayed even.

"… and then he disappeared; I know some people went looking but, if he was found, nothing was ever made public."

Through the whole talk, you were ramrod straight in your seat at what you learned from someone who had witnessed much of it firsthand.

"But I called a friend earlier, who confirmed tracking down traces and finding Windmill Village; they saw he was living a peaceful, harmless life and decided to not interfere."

You gasp, despite having felt an indication it was coming; Eggman became Mr. Tinker, built you, had those happy days and then the Shattering happened and Eggman returned. Was your Papa still somewhere deep down?

How were you meant to react to this knowledge?

Was there even anything you could do?

As these thoughts race through your head, a touch to your shoulder jolts you out of it.

Gemerl is kneeling in front of you, reaching out, his eyes focused on yours with empathy; he simply nods and you let out a shuddering gasp.

Vanilla's voice comes again, "Don't worry, Belle, it's fine to need time to adjust and we'll be here for you if you want help or even just company."

You appreciate the kindness but at the same time it just feels like everything is too much right now; you can't deal with it and you just feel like you're imposing too much

"There is something, actually…"

Upon hearing you request, Vanilla smiled and said she'd make a call.

.

You are Metal Sonic and you hate.

You hate Zavok for controlling you.

Even if your creator had something similar in place you thank love care respect him. There was nuance there. The Zeti had none of that and visions of what you want to do flash through your mind.

You hate this feeling of powerlessness.

Your body is broken to the point of near immobility; if anything happened, you would be useless at fending it off. Your creator is injured and you can't stand guard or hunt down the sniper.

You hate how alone you are.

Lying in pieces on a workbench able to do nothing but wait until the Doctor is well enough to repair you. Nothing to do and no one with time to spare for you.

And so, you hate because there is nothing else you can do.

.

(Turn 5)

You are Belle the Tinker and you are helping.

After the barrage of life-changing information you'd faced last month, you weren't ready to deal with the situation so you had made the decision to focus on something you could to and continue the purpose that your father had shared with you; to make the lives of others better.

The desire to do something constructive as you worked through things came to the forefront and Vanilla had made contact with the leader of this sanctuary in the sky, offering your assistance. He had been wary but seemed to appreciate the offer and the reference did help smooth things over.

You nodded to yourself, dusting off your hands as you took in the building-in-progress; this was the last of the requested houses and you were rather proud of the joinery you'd worked out for the framework. With the way things were going, you'd be done by tomorrow; you'd even gone ahead and included prep-work for possible plumbing installations later since the Island wasn't set up for it yet.

"Hey," a gruff voice called out softly from behind you.

"Of course, Knuckles; it just needs an hour or two more to set and I can finish things off."

The Echidna hummed in response, "I came to apologise."

You blinked, "There's really no need; I understand your caution and, given you history…"

He interrupts quickly, "No; I refuse the out you're giving me. I treated you with suspicion and harshness you didn't deserve when you freely came to help. That was wrong and I'm sorry for that."

The expression on his face made it clear that he was struggling with this but he did mean it and you wouldn't want to discourage that even if you felt it wasn't needed so you smile at the gesture, "Well then, I accept your apology; no hard feelings."

You hold out your hand which he hesitatingly shakes.

He looks away from you to the frame of the final building, "Anything I can do to help?"

You pause not quite sure what he meant by that.

"I helped clear the area but I'd like it if I could help with the actual building… if you don't mind."

Your smile turns into a full-on grin; you'd never turn someone away who wanted to tinker, "Come on; I'll show you the plans and explain what's next."

You're glad you came up here; those idle words of wisdom that your father had spoken so off-handedly really had been true.

Sometimes, the best way to heal is to help.

.

You are Canaan and you are reminding yourself of the important things.

You are alive.

Maria is alive.

You are together.

You just needed to keep those three facts true.

The mission had been a mess from start to finish; attempts at stealth had repeatedly failed and Metal Sonic's hunger for violence had repeatedly kept on fighting, putting both the mission and his squad-mates in danger, when moving on had otherwise been possible. It had taken some trouble but you'd eventually managed to find the hideout where Maria was already under attack with some injuries already present.

You had not been prepared to fight a Grim Reaper, Oni, snowman, and angel but between the lot of you, a lot of bruises, the surprise assistance of the investigators the Doctor had hired, and a sacrifice from one brave Rudie, your group had managed to barely eke out a win.

And then, just as you were loading up on the ship to escape, some kind of demon dragon had shown up and attacked, knocking Maria off the deck. After everything you'd been through together, you certainly weren't going to let it end like that so you'd dove off after her and managed to finagle a landing so both of you even if it had nearly dislocated an arm and bruised a shoulder.

Metal Sonic hadn't been on board the ship and had paused to glance at you before running up a skyscraper to attack the dragon; while he couldn't speak and it'd be nice to say he'd wanted to at least let the others escape, you were pretty sure you could translate the energy around him to "I just want to get one good hit in".

Still, that distraction had let the ship sly away and allowed you and Maria to slip into a quieter area to try and where you'd been able to change clothes into something less noticeable.

You needed to get out of here.

You needed to recover.

And, for all the trouble Metal caused, you also needed to pay Doctor Eggman back for his assistance after so much had been risked for your goal. A man like that wouldn't take well to resources being wasted and then you leaving.

You wrapped your good arm around Maria from where you sat together; escape would come later, for now you just needed a few minutes to rest.

.

(Turn 6)

You are Belle the Tinker and you're not quite sure why so many people are looking to you right now.

After your work for Knuckles last month, the Restoration had requested help for a construction project to protect people; you'd be doing a good job with it when a commotion had caught your attention. Two large groups of people were protesting, seemingly with incompatible views, others were looking at them judgementally with tense bodies like they could run or fight at a moment, which only made the protestors more nervous and angrier themselves.

Rookie, one of the Restoration's top agents was on the scene trying but failing to keep things calm. The tense situation was getting worse, voices raising, insults being thrown, and some of the people involved were inching towards cover or gripping signs or nearby objects when something had caught everyone's attention.

GONG!

They were looking to you.

With shock, your eyes turned to the hammer in your hands and the metal you had apparently just used as an improvised drum.

Before you could think to stop yourself, you raised your voice, "People! Please stop! I don't know all the situation but I'm sure there's a better way to handle it than this."

In a near-unthinking panic, you kept talking from deep in your Heart; you spoke of the troubles the Shattering had caused, the hurt that so many people were feeling, of helping, of healing, and more beyond that. And, somehow, the crowd was drawn in, the tension slowly left their bodies and there was no longer the air of imminent violence. Lanolin, another Restoration member arrived at this time.

When you asked for both groups to send a representative forward to talk, they somehow agreed, but both came towards you, instead of the Restoration members. The Rookie stayed between the crowds while Lanolin joined the representatives in talking with you.

Tangle later questioned how you'd managed that, to which you honestly responded that you had no idea how you calmed people down like or how you managed to get them to talk more evenly to reach the start of a solution between; really, you didn't think what you did matter that much. Lanolin was the one with the know how who got them talking about an actual way to fix things. At best you just stalled until she arrived.

Thankfully things calmed down, the crowds dispersed and you were able to get back to a much calmer and more reasonable job of working on the construction product to calm your nerves.

When you were done for the day, you found Lanolin waiting for you just on the other side of the safety, "That was some great work; do you have time to talk?"

.

You are Doctor Eggman and there is an undercurrent of frustration in your body that you don't quite understand; things haven't exactly been going poorly for you. While the Zeti's flight from the Green Hill Zone was irritating as that meant it would take more effort to exact your vengeance, it had allowed you to retake both a good amount of territory and the Arsenal Pyramid itself.

You had cured a disease that your grandfather had failed at and, you were fairly sure, secured the loyalty of a competent minion.

The city built in your image was doing well.

A recall message had been sent out, bringing more forces to be deployed at your disposal.

Canaan had managed an almost miraculous return, alone save for her civilian girlfriend, from Tokyo-to; she would need to rest but understood that you had risked

Yet somehow, it felt like there should be something more in your life; you should be doing at least a little bit better. Perhaps something to do with Metal Sonic? His actions last month had been troublesome… perhaps you should consider restricting him further.

"Bah," you turn your thoughts away from that line of reasoning and instead look to the reports on what's been going on around the Zone recently. A false flag attack had been brought to your attention, GUN was no longer looking for a wizard, and the Sniper had left your territory.

It was the report on the Restoration that stood out the most; they'd done a much better job of fortifying than you'd expected… not enough that you'd have trouble of course but certainly beyond their typical means. They'd likely called in an outsider.
And what was this about a near riot that occurred, that only made sense with a lack of strong leadership to guide them but what really caught your attention was the picture of the one who had apparently stopped it from turning violent.

A part of her recognised her.

It was… you didn't remember the name (Something beginning with "B" maybe?); the doll you had created when you were Mr. Tinker to make toys and park benches other such petty things.

Well, that would explain how the Restoration did so well with building; they were leeching off your own work.

You ponder what to do with this information before setting it aside; there were more important things to deal with right now. One wayward creation couldn't matter that much.

.

(Turn ??)

You are Belle the Tinker and you are not ready for this.

Even now, after months, it's a surprise that the Restoration has been so willing to embrace… well most of them anyway, there are still some who don't want you around but they're the minority here.

Over the last few months, you've helped build facilities, secure a Chao Garden with Cream, encouraged charity, and talked with a lot of people to understand what's going wrong and if there's a way you might be able to help. It's certainly been more than you'd ever thought you'd accomplish when you'd left Windmill Village.

You're glad that you've been able to help so many people and are happy with the friends you've made, even if the events leading up to it were sad.

But this is more than that.

This action more than any other displays how much the Restoration trust you and it means so much that your heart could burst.

Along with the dread of what this event might.

You were about to meet The Monster.

Doctor Eggman had sent a representative to request a talk about the current state of matters and threats in the world; he'd proposed a talk in a neutral-ish territory of the Restoration's choice with a number of representatives for both sides.

The Restoration had chosen you as one of them.

You were in a flatland, with unstable territory nearby and open skies around; an ambush would be easy to spot coming from either side. Within this area there was a rectangular table that you had built in preparation.

Seated on one side, along you, were Jewel, Lanolin, the Rookie, and Jules the Hedgehog. None of you were speaking as you awaited the arrival.

After what might have been five minutes or five hours, a humming sound broke through sound of the breeze rustling the grass and a hovercraft with no visible weapons landed at a distance from you; far enough to be at ease but close enough that it wouldn't be out of the question that they could make an escape if needed.

The first to leave the 'craft was a well-dressed human with dark hair, he walked smoothly to stop behind the chair opposite Jules.

Next was the Pronghorn, who you'd been told was called Clove, her gaze swept over the area before she steadily moved to be opposite to Lanolin.

A Mobian Platypus followed to come face-to-face with the Rookie.

It was a surprise to you that there was no fifth, for instead Doctor Eggman, Ivo Robotnik himself, came next before the door to the hovercraft closed behind him.

Everyone on your side of the table tried to avoid flinching, you think it mostly worked.

There was an aura to the man, a strange sense of foreboding and danger that set you on edge.

The Doctor's long stride ate up the distance between you quickly even at a casual pace, he made a gesture and his subordinates took their seats.

With those final few steps to go, it seemed like he only now deemed the occupants of your side of the table worthy of attention.

He noticed Jules the Hedgehog.

He acknowledged Lanolin.

A slight grimace came to his face at the sight of the Rookie.

He looked at Jewel, finding her wanting.

And then…

His eyes met yours.

I want to say I do enjoy reading the omake but...I also can't help but feel it's very bittersweet. Sometimes it can be hard to believe all it takes is one different action to completely change the story.

These are very good, but how many omakes have we been doing? I am growing a bit concerned we might be reaching the limit very quickly.
I'd like to think that Belle would still try to reform Eggman even if we didn't pick her up when we did. After all, she cannot forget that this evil man was once kind. Very good omake!

But Knuckles has a house, so I hate it. (joking)

"Stupid thing...won't come off..."

Belle was coming back from her break when she heard a familiar voice grumbling in a corner of the garage. Some steps revealed that it was Doctor Eggman, messing with the body of Metal Sonic.

The Tinkerer couldn't help but wince at the sorry state Metal was: The Doctor explained he had gotten a bit carried away with fighting Metal, leading to him getting badly beaten up. Knowing Metal's personality, she knew he likely would have accepted the offer, protocols or not, but it still was a bit disturbing Eggman could bust his top machine with his bare hands.

Well, he also boasted Metal likely got his own take in his extraordinary abilities as El Gran Gordo, so something good came from this.

Now, as always, the Doctor decided to care for his greatest machine personally, while also tuning him up for the upcoming tournament. She heard Isara was deigned "competent enough" to help him in the task, so the Darcsen had been helping in that area, but now Eggman was alone, messing with some sort of exposed compartment.

She took a moment to think if it wasn't better to go back at work before deciding to check on the situation - the building of the garage was going very smoothly after all. She might even give it some special touches...

"Doctor," Belle said. "Is everything fine with Metal?"

The man took a glance at the person coming from behind, then his expression softened at who it was.

"Oh...it's you, Belle," he said. After a moment of reflection, he added, "Well, it might be useful for you to see this. Come here..."

The puppet did as asked.

"Are you giving Metal more upgrades?" she asked.

"Not at the moment...Gunther and I are discussing what we shall focus on upgrading this month. Resource distribution and all that."

"I see..." Belle nodded in understanding. "Papa had to plan things too for his projects..."

Silence. An uncomfortable amount of silence.

"So...what were you doing?" she clapped her hands, in an attempt to break the ice. "You seemed to be having some..."

"I'm not having problems," he interrupted. "Eggman never has problems fixing his machines. It's just that I wanted to see if I could remove some of Metal's biodata manually, and the damned thing is stuck! Probably was my fault with all my wrestling..."

He tapped at the exposed circuit, composed of four differently colored slots.

"Now, I brag about many things," the doctor said. "But the biodata system? I argue it's amongst my best discoveries. It takes a bio sample of anyone that makes contact with Metal, then converts it into offensive power," he tapped at a purple and brown one. "This? From Conquering Storm. A condensed form of her ninja training uploaded into Metal's systems," a black and gold one. "This is from the weird fake Metal met. Gives him energy blasts, probably a waste of a slot when I could make something similar and probably better," a red, white and gold one. "Now, this? Top notch. My biodata. The essence of El Gran Gordo spread into a blue devil! Hm, yes, that will be his stage name..."

Shaking his head, he tapped on a red and black one.

"Now, this one? Just pure trouble," he snarled. "I thought Metal wouldn't be too affected by Omega's biodata, but, while he wasn't overtly aggressive against me, he was far more bloodthirsty than I expected. So I want to dial some of his aggression down by removing it. But I guess one of my impacts left it stuck."

Belle looked at the drive, then at the man.

"Have you considered some oil?"

The mad genius rolled his eyes.

"Oil? Such a mundane solution! Surely this problem is one that requires careful thought-"

FLOP!

One second later, and Belle was holding an oil-covered core, putting it aside for a blanket.

"Now we give it some lust and...there you go!" she nodded, satisfied. "Simple problems require simple solutions!"

She blinked at the almost annoyed look the man had.

"Fifteen minutes of my life...wasted..."

"...why didn't you think of it before?" she asked, curious.

"I thought my magnificent muscles could handle the task, of course! Do not ask such silly things, Belle," Eggman said. "Now, shoosh. Maybe I can eat my delicious sandwich before we return to work."

He drew out of his...pocket(?) a large and yummy-looking sandwich. The type her father would...

"Doctor. Why did you want me to see this?"

He closed his mouth and furrowed his eyebrows in thought, before saying.

"You and Metal have...something of a bond," he explained. "I'm sure even you could notice it. He never put so much trust in anyone other than me. And you can...somewhat, ground him. Which is a valuable trait, I believe."

He turned back to the machine.

"Don't look too deep into this, it's just me being practical, and I will probably teach Sage when she gets a new physical body-"

"Doctor...why are you caressing my hair?"

He paused, slowly turning to the puppet and, indeed, his hand was slowly caressing her hair.

...he wondered what Mr.Tinker used to make it. What kind of fiber was so soft and fit the girl so well-

The doctor backed away.

"Y-you have job to do, no? Go back to it!" he barked.

The Tinker blinked in confusion, before slowly backing away while Eggman looked at where he caressed the girl's head, feeling pride-

Ugh. Why family had to be so complicated?

...

And why he was thinking of Belle as family? The closest thing he had to such was Sage and, when not betraying him, Metal Sonic.

He didn't need any other sycophants in his life! No more kids!

...

Right?

In the end, when Isara returned, he couldn't eat his sandwich, opting to leave it in the garbage. He worked for much of the day hungry, yet not having much appetite.

You said I cooked with my last omake, I'd say that you cooked pretty dang hard with this one as well. There's a lot here, small ripple effects as things mirror the quest, but the tone and flavor is different.

The slowly building tension in Windmill Village leading to Belle's banishment is great and I really liked how Belle was trying to help where she could, leading to Knuckles actually getting houses. Their interaction was genuinely really sweet. But also helping with the Restoration. For all that she was left adrift, she is finding her way in the world, slowly becoming important in it. All leading up to her eventual meeting with Eggman.

Meanwhile, by contrast, things are going well for Eggman, but not to the same degree. I really like the tone you set to his side of things. Clove feeling a pressure in the base, where Belle talked with her in the infirmary in the quest. Canaan and Isara being so distant.

Sage's perspective was interesting, just because it kinda feels like very little has changed for her. She already felt like the favorite child in the quest proper, at least to me, because things were relatively uncomplicated with her before last turn.

How much worse the Tokyo-to mission went is kinda amazing, showing how well Belle kept Metal on task. It really feels like Canaan's loyalty is much lower here, she's sticking around because she's concerned about the consequences if she didn't. She'd probably jump ship if things got too tough, while I think our Canaan would make more of an effort.

I think my favorite bit here is the one about Metal. Without Belle, when Eggman is indisposed, he really is left with no one. Even then, having Eggman around isn't really a good thing for him though, with how Eggman is considering further restricting him later on. He's just left to stew in his rage, without any impetus to change or grow.

Really like how you closed. Does Tinker surface? If so, does he take over or does Eggman just get the memories? It feels like this timeline could go in any number of directions from this point.

Not gonna lie, Eggman comes off as more than a little creepy here. Awkwardly engineering a teaching opportunity for Belle was kinda cute, in a bumbling way, but then the bit about caressing her hair... yeah.

After your sparring session with Metal, you realize that you went… just a little overboard. Metal was more damaged than you expected.

Seeing as you needed to fix him immediately, you ordered Isara to assist you on the repair. While she was still not experienced in regards to the software and electronic system of Metal, the young engineer was more than capable to fix his chassis and help install a few more upgrades.

While she did a more than acceptable job, the worried stares she kept sending your way kept annoying you.

You were (not) fine!

The Pronghorns took on the task of reinforcing the borders of your territory. The Empire has certainly gotten more arrogant if they think they can just take your rightfully earned land!

Well, good luck next time those fools dare to send their tanks towards your borders. Not only have outposts been built in every section of your territory, but the Egg Boss and her sister managed to properly install weaponry to fend off any invasión!

Bare Success

"-okey, this is the last number I remember." Maria says as she dials one last number on her phone, her face one of focus as she stares intensely to the screen.

Maria was more than familiar with how the rudies operated thanks to her time working with them during her stay on Tokyo-to. That bald headed jerk had a really chip on his shoulder with the Rudies and had surveillance in every street, making sneaking in a group almost impossible, even one police siren would sound the alarm and those monster would pop out of nowhere to hunt them!

That meant that the remaining rudies needed to travel in small groups when not in their hideouts, and when they were forced to split up, they had to rely on the use of burner phones. With Gouji somehow benign able to find them if they used their normal cell phones for calls, thai was the only way to make contact with them if they couldn't find where exactly the rudies were hiding now.

So far Maria had tried using all the burner phones she had with her, recalling as many numbers as she could, if this last one didn't work, then they would need to go directly to the city to contact them.

With a determined look, she pressed the key to make the call.

The phone rings once…no answer.

The phone rings twice…no answer.

The phone rings thrice…when Maria expects the voicemail to answer her, instead a more feminine voice that she hadn't heard in a while reached her ears.

"Yo! Who is da one callin'?" An upbeat voice sounded through the phone, and Maria's face lightened.

"Gum! OHMYGOD! I'm so relieved to hear from you again!" The blonde shouts as she sports a big smile on her face.

"Me too, sistah! We had thought that the big red dragon had cooked ya and the weirdos that came over!"

"Oh, it almost happened, but my girlfriend's friend who had a pirate ship picked us up after she shot the Grim reaper in the head!" She replies cheerfully.

"So that is what happen'd, We really found it hard to believe Robot when he said he suplexed the red muscled one and exploded the scythe dude's head. Still, Big M, hope you are safe wherever it is, things haven't been going groovy here."

Maria gasps. "What happened?" She asks, her worry so palpable.

"That Dragon happened! It burns whatever place Gouji thinks we are hiding 'till only ashes remain! We got lucky that they haven't found us here in the sewers. He got reaaaaally freaked out when his last sting failed."

Maria smirked. "'Bout that, how does it sound, if we cause Gouji more troubled. My girlfriend's boss has a few ideas in mind."

"Oh sistah, i like the way ya're talking."

Result: Made contact with the rudies! Unlocked Collab actions with them, aimed at weakening and messing with Gouji!"

Success!

You were a bit reluctant to entrust this task to the quintet of bumblers, but Decoe and Becoe assured you they, Bokkun, Orbot and Cubot could handle it. You figured you didn't have much to lose if they messed it up. There would be plenty of other opportunities for allies if push comes to shove.

The five managed to track down...

"Blaze!?" Cubot gasped.

The familiar but now armored visage of the purple Cat squinted at him.

"No, golem. I am Sir Percival of Camelot. Though quite a few seem to be under this mistaken impression..." She noted with a tilted head.

"Uh, well, I ain't never heard of this Blaze person. We're just here because we heard you are reaching out and we wanted to see if we could team up!" Bokkun exclaimed, Decoe and Bocoe nodding enthusiastically.

"Hmm. Yes, quite. Camelot has... had issues befall it recently. Issues we cannot solve on our own. An alliance could be most beneficial for both parties, depending on what the other can provide." Sir Percival explained, subconsciously holding her head.

"Well, the boss has plenty of stuff he would be willing to part with or provide... Within reason, of course." Orbot nodded.

The six of them took some time to iron out the details. Apparently Sir Percival found the five amusing and worth hearing out.

Hmmph. No accounting for taste, but it was useful to you in the end.

Results: Connections made with Camelot, opening collaborations! Sir Percival is amused and charmed by the Bumbling Minions.

Retrieve Maw and Phage DC Autopass - Starline
Autopass

Starline, relatively healed up from His minor injuries during the Janken assault, was more than happy to assist with grabbing that Maw fellow and his lackies. Well, soon to be YOUR lackies.

"Hmmm." Maw looked Starline up and down as his Egg Scientists gathered their projects and did last minute preparations in the background.

"Yes? What is it?" Starline squinted.

"Oh nothing, nothing. Just... Not what I expected." The man shrugged.

"What's that supposed to mean!?" Starline balked. Maw ignored him and continued onwards. Starline scowled and followed behind.

Maw bowed respectfully as he approached you.

Shattered Memories Triggers!
DC: 65
Roll: 6
He doesn't remember!

Hmmm. Once again, that strange phenomenon that makes you remember alternative yous pushes against your skull, but just as quickly it fades away.

"Sir. It is a pleasure to reunite." He nodded.

"Hmmph. Welcome back. Do not make me regret this." You state with a dismissive wave of your hand.

Meanwhile, in A section of the Egg Net, Phage tilted her head at Sage.

"...So. You come here often?" She grinned, edging closer.

"Do not try me, sister."

"Awww…"

Results: Gained Maw as a Hero Unit! Gained Phage and the Egg Scientists as Units!

Egg Scientists: +5 to Brains and Logistics actions, +10 to research based actions

Phage: +10 to Infiltration and Hacking based actions (only applicable if the faction has Internet access)

Critical Success!

Thinking you didn't have anything to lose, you assigned Thunderbolt to create some badniks to retrieve rings, with your newest reactor needed a substantial amount to operate, you needed to secure your own source fast!

And Thunderbolt proved herself to be the die hard fan you expected her to, when just a few days later, the systems confirmed the steady supply of rings being fed to the reactor in the Egg City.

You were so impressed you actually decided to give the Chichilla some of your time to grace her with your presence…when you saw for the first time what machines she built.

"...And here is Michael. There is Lee, also Shelley, Hilary, Lynn, Laura, Ryan and, my favorite! Robotnik…jr!" Thunderbolt screeches excitedly as she holds the robot in her hands, showing it to you.

You couldn't be less amused watching the similar egg shaped, smiling robots that your self proclaimed "Biggest Fan" had built. While a decent work of robotics, having egg shaped robots with your face and hair was not exactly what you had in mind!!!

You take a deep breath, a few moments from lashing out, as you rub your eyes. "...Well done."
You mutter annoyed, deciding to let this go, at least she keeps your aesthetics for the design.

Thunderbolt starts bouncing excitedly, as she continues to hug the egg robot she made…who then proceeds to release a perfect imitation of your laugh!

You hate this…hate this a lot!

Result: The Eggmeletes have been built! These small egg shaped robots made in your image are able to quickly travel across all Green Hills, and collect rings by inserting it in a safe compartment inside their bellies!

Gained 300 Hundred Units of Rings at the moment!

39 + 23(Eggman Trickery) + 17(Piastol Trickery) + 1(Piastol Loyalty) + 40(4x Newtrons) - 10(Eggman Sad) = 110
Tier 1 Success!

You suppose it was time to help someone else find their nemesis (Even if you still couldn't find any clues about Sonic!). That bounty hunter performance had been… passable so far, you ought well to reward good work.

According to her, her target was a group of pirates led by a certain evil monster called "Vyse", weird name, if you say so yourself. No one in Green Hills or nearby areas have heard anything about this… sky pirate.

Pfft… finding information about such an individual will be easy for someone of your caliber. First, you checked with the restoration's database that they lended to you happily(even if they aren't aware of it). While you found some interesting tidbits of info about other pirates roaming the skies and fighting some Armada, nothing concrete about the bounty hunter's nemesis.

While you would have liked to have access to your usual surveillance and intelligence system, your options were a little more limited at the moment, you might need to get… creative.

You resorted to hacking and accessing the networks of the other places brought to this mish mash world. While there was not still a global system, it was not a challenge for you, even if it took time.

(You wanted to ask Sage to assist you on this, but…)

After checking the networks of several places, you finally hit the nail on the head! A place called Tokyo (Not Tokyo-to, and not the Tokyo where Dural was, weird), had news of a group of pirates led by a certain man called Vyze…or is it Vyse or Vize? The name seems to vary from time to time.

Back to the point, that Pirate Group has been seen arriving in a flying ship attacking cities near the coast of the ocean, and retreating once they get their loot, avoiding the counterattack from authorities. Man, from what you had heard from Piastol, you expected this nemesis to be more fearsome, not a two bit villain.

Well, you suppose this info will have the bounty hunter happy for now.

Results: Learned that Vyze(?) and his pirate crew, has been sighted in Tokyo (From Yakuza) and nearby areas, plundering at their pleasure. +15 opinion gained for Piastol, unlocked Personal to Hunt Vyze for Pìastol, some other hero units can choose to accompany her to this, if they are able and have good enough relationship with Piastol/have reasons to accompany her.

Mystic
Develop those "Magic Wards" for Egg City: DC 65 Badnik cap 20 - Yahna + 5 Egg Magician
88 + Bonus: 8(Eggman Mystic) + 28(Yahna Mystic) + 2(Loyalty) + 15(Witchcrafter) + 25(5x Egg Magicians) - 10(Eggman Sad) = 156
Critical Success!

You have to admit, after hours of trying to study and quell the flames, you passed the job to that semi naked witch, as a last resort, not fully expecting her to achieve anything substantial. But color you impressed…that Witch proved she actually can do magic… While impressive, it still gives you too many headaches for your liking.

When she requested a list of a substantial amount of ridiculous elements (What does Camel Skins and bones of ostriches have to do with magic?!), you completely passed off the problem to Starline, assigning a pair of egg pawns and telling the Platypus to get her anything she needed while keeping an eye on her, so she doesn't end up making the situation worse.

You did not expect to wake up and see the city being surrounded by teal shining barriers covered in strange glyphs, that not only stopped the advance of the fire… it seemed to weaken it in contact.

You are starting to get some ideas.

Result: Yahnan has managed to craft an ethereal ward to keep the fire away from Egg City… has also discovered that the wards are able to weaken the flames somewhat! Dc reduced to vanquishing the flames!

--[X] Dr. Eggman: Do Some General Tinkering
19 - 20 = -1

You were not in the mood for this.

After that blunder with approaching the rabbit, you would not lie and say you were not... Disappointed. You were trying! You really were.

Maybe, and it almost caused you pain to admit this ... It wasn't enough.

YOU weren't enough...

In a desperate bid to take your mind off of things, you tried some tinkering with random inventions laying around the base.

To your surprise, when it was done, a familiar round robot stared at you, lifelessly.

You stared at it for a long time. You sighed.

You turned it on.

Familiar pink eyes stared up at you.

"Oh. It's you. Hello doctor." SA-55 stated.

"Hello SA-55." You gruffly grunted.

"You must be more desperate than usual to rebuild me. Or maybe you couldn't even do that right."

"...Am I a good father, SA-55?"

"...You literally murdered me. You do the math, you're supposed to be a genius."

You shut him off after that and stared blankly ahead.

Reward: Rebuilt SA-55! He… doesn't do much besides insult you.
Next turn, 2 random national actions receive a -15 malus! The malus becomes -5 if the hero units assigned are mature enough to take the sassing.

--[X] Dr. Eggman: Hire Mercenaries

Too many things to do, so little time. Seeing as you were busy with more important stuff, you guessed that checking if any of the new mercenaries arriving at Green Hills could be useful for something.

Quickly finding their contact info, you were certainly surprised by the choice available.

Alien Busters!

A trio of people declaring themselves "Professional Kickers of Alien's Ass". These leather wearing duo, and the silver robot, proclaim that they single handedly fended off an alien invasion in their world before the Shattering… You are not sure if you believe them or not.

Can be hired to do a Power or Logistic Action. Prefer Actions against Aliens, or where they don incredible amounts of damage to the environment, if possible.

Ghost Squad:

Can be Hired to do a Power or Trickery Action. Prefers Actions against criminals, law breakers, bodyguard duty or anything that doesn't put at risk civilians.

A black ops group that now works as mercenaries that remind you too much of G.U.N for your liking. This group of soldiers promises efficiency and results no matter what. You can respect their professionalism at least. Thought the remark of not accepting any job that hurts innocents is a tad annoying.

Vashyron, Zephyr and Leanne

This particular group stinks too much of good-doers for your liking, but you suppose their skills can be worth it. They are willing to accept any odd job that comes their way as long as the pay is good enough.

Can be hired to do a Power, Logistics or Heart Action. Will do almost any action assigned to them…with some exceptions.

Do you want to hire one of them?(Cost 2 income)

[ ] Yes
-[ ] What Action?

[ ] No
--[X] Dr. Eggman: Talk to Vanilla
30

Please… Please show up…

You stood outside the Rabbit household, patiently. Waiting. Waiting.

You could force yourself in. You could just wait even longer.

But ultimately…. What was the point? You were under no delusions Vanilla would not like you, she may have no desire to assist you ultimately.

You sigh and dejectedly return to the Egg Mobile, flying home.

--[X] Dr. Starline: Research Wisp Powers
90 + 10 = 100

100/150

Starline seems to have taken to research of Hyper-go-on energy like… well a duck to water. Having access to your notes and research during the events of the Egg Planet Park incident has been a definite boon for the platypus, but he seems to be taking your notes and the footage of that blasted hedgehog and analyzing exactly how the energies interact with living creatures.

"Wisps themselves are natural producers of the energy, but they are not the only source." He excitedly rants. "There is actually an enormous amount of it that is just free in the atmosphere, though in small enough layers that you would need to find a way to collect it, which I am already working on!"

Well… good for him. If he can actually manage this, perhaps he'll be able to replicate the "Color Powers" Sonic and his friends use without the need for the pesky wisps themselves. And that brings the possibility that you can use it to upgrade your own robots…

Let's hope Starline's lucky streak continues.

--[X] Rusty Rose: Take Care of your Pet
48

Rusty took some free time to do basic care of her new pet. Not much of significance happened, though the flying pig seemed to continue to warm up to her, slowly but surely.

Rusty still seems unsure what she's doing, but she also seems to appreciate the company. Good for her, you suppose.

--[X] Agent Stone: Field Work Training
98

Stone seemed to recall how relatively powerless he was in that fight against the clown, and wished to resolve this.

With the help of Decoe and Bocoe as spotters, he procured some weights and got to work exercising.

Combined with the proper nutrition and some muscle stimulating drinks, Stone was soon enough in tiptop shape at the end of the month, all without going overboard.

Good. Wouldn't do any good for him to be in bad shape if you were going to continue to have him under your employ!

Results: Agent Stone gains +4 to Power!

47

To be continued in: "Their Father's Daughters"!

--[X] Pronghorn Sisters: Talk to your New Co-Workers
---[X] Canaan
3 + 10 = 13

You're not normally one for gossip about your minions, you're truly not. But… in the morning while Stone was getting you your morning coffee he had quite the interesting tidbit about Clove and her sister seemingly finding Canaan and her paramor in a… compromising position.

Now, Clove herself is an adult but Cassia… It seems after she pulled Cassia away, Clove had quite a few words for the mercenary and her blushing "bride" about just where they should be doing these kinds of activities.

That's when Stone casually mentioned that this was all happening in the breakroom that had been built and honestly, scandalous. And unsanitary.

You made a note to have the furniture burned and replaced, an enjoyable bit of gossip though, even if it seems Canaan is too embarrassed to be around the Pronghorns at the moment. Cassia won't stop giggling about it either.

--[X] Canaan: Hang out with Belle.
13

Canaan wasn't in a particularly good mood after her interactions with the Pronghorns, and wishing to not take things out on Belle, chose to keep their hanging out rather brief.

Belle was a little disappointed, but was ultimately understanding, and just seemed to appreciate what little she got with the mercenary.

Hmmph. Relationships are so complicated.

--[X] Sage: Talk with some of Father's minions (Isara Gunther)

"...Isara. We have to talk."

Isara looked up with a surprised yelp. Sage stood there, staring stoically.

"You're not mad are you? I promise I wasn't trying-" Isara nervously began.

"I am not mad. I... Require advice." The AI frowned.

"When we talked in the past, you mentioned having a father and a sibling. I... Believe I hurt father. I... Didn't fully wish to do that, but I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I am afraid in my attempts to help father, I only pushed him away..."

Isara stared at her for a long while, deep in thought. Sage waited patiently but clearly anxiously, fidgeting.

"... Family... It's nice. But every rose has its thorns. It can be very complicated, and nothing is going to be perfect. I love my brother and my papa, I do, but we have gotten frustrated with each other before. Said and did things we regret. In the end, the past is the past. We can learn from it, but dwelling in it forever is just going to cause more pain. I think Dr. Eggman, for all his faults, truly does love you. And if he truly does, then he will accept your apology. I think you should give him another chance... And Belle too. She's going to drive you crazy, but she's your sister at the end of the day. I don't think she wants to hate you, or vice versa."

Sage stared for a long time, a pensive expression on her face.

"...Thank you. I will mull this over..."

Sage vanishes and Isara nods. She hopes she helped…

Results: Sage feels great appreciation towards Isara and wishes to apologize to Eggman and Belle! +15 to Eggman's Talk to Sage Personal.

--[X] Piastol: Hang out with Elizabeth.
81 + 10 = 91
"All of the training I have done until now is finally bearing fruits!" Elizabeth proclaimed as she continued gracefully moving, repeating a series of motions. Around her, several people, humans, mobians, and from other races, watched the velvet clothed woman as she performed admirable

Piastol still could not believe how she ended up in this situation. Deciding she had nothing better to do at the moment, she took up Elizabeth's offer to hang out.

She didn't expect the fortune teller to drag her out towards the Restoration, and start visiting any shop that catches her interest! Elizabeth asked her a lot of questions about the shops they visited, and sadly, Piastol couldn't help but admit that her knowledge of many things here was… lacking.

Piastol would not admit it to anyone but so far, hanging out with Elizabeth had been…fun. Her latest visit, an Arcade, had Elizabeth try something called, Dance Dance Revolution….

She didn't get why all the people inside the place where going crazy with how good Elizabeth was doing, was this such a big deal?

As the Song finished and the machine gave a notification, the people exploded in cheering, excited for getting the highest score or something like that, Piastol couldn't understand.

"How did you find my dancing?" Elizabeth asks, not looking winded at all, even after spending several minutes dancing like crazy, but sporting a small smile on her face. "Perhaps by any chance, you would like to give this game a test?" She asks as she retrieves the giant pink bear that she obtained from a claw game.

Piastol just looks away. "Pass… dancing is not really my thing." She says, not wanting to make a ridicule out of herself.

"You don't know until you try it!" Elizabeth says as she grabs Piastol by her hand and starts dragging her towards the game. How such a woman could possess so much strength in her grip that Piastol couldn't get away, she had no idea. "Besides, this would be a nice change of pace for you! Trying new things is always exhilarating!"

No matter how much she refused, in the end, she caved and decided to give it a shot. But as expected, she failed quite spectacularly.

Even so…, she admits that she had never passed such a tranquil and good time before.

She doesn't remember a time before when she smiled as much as now.

Results: Piastol gains +10 Loyalty.

--[X] Conquering Storm: Hang out with Agent Stone
95

"Agent Stone."

The man looked up from his coffee brewing to see a familiar lynx and offered a warm smile.

"Ah! Conquering Storm! You need something?" He asked cheerfully.

"Yes. I require your presence in… a less professional setting. You are no Lord Eggman, far from it, but if our poker match is anything to go by, you could be an… worthy enough person to spend time with."

"...Are you asking to hang out?"

"...Yes."

"Wonderful! I have been wanting to train even more, honestly." Stone beamed.

"hmmph. Do not presume I will go easy on you." Conquering Storm warned.

"I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you." Stone said sincerely.

Conquering Storm, for her part, allowed herself a small smile as she and Stone wandered off.

(You would later see though the security footage by the end of it, Conquering Storm and an exhausted but satisfied Stone were watching an anime together. None of your business, but not what you expected).

Results: Stone and Conquering Storm bond further! +5 to Stone's Trickery and +5 to Conquering Storm's Heart.

--[X] Honey: Make Eggman Empire Uniforms
39

Honey was quite proud and ecstatic as she brought all of you together.

"This better be good…" you grumble.

Suddenly, the lights went out save for a single spotlight on a makeshift stage.

"introducing, after much effort and much trial and error, the new, the great, the amazing-!" Honey's voice exclaimed.

"Get on with it!" You snap.

"...You think YOU would appreciate a little dramatic build up… bah! Regardless, here's your Eggman Empire uniforms!"

Sure enough, the feline fashionista showed them off. They were simple but sleek, similar to your outfit but with little flairs here and there.

You didn't get the hype, honestly, and neither did most of the others, but most were more polite about it than you really would have been.

Still, some were interested in it, and it was something for everyone to discuss and bond over, which doesn't interest you but Is probably good for the lessers' team building.

She didn't go through the wall this time. That's progress at least.

You are starting to wonder if this girl actually has a talent for mechs after all this time though, she has been working on this mech for how many months now?

It better be worth it…

--[X] Yahan: Developing a Magical Theory Dossier.
Progress Bar: 85+55=140/150

Yahna made major strides in finishing her Magical theory Dossier, making sure that all those non versed in Magic could learn the basics of witchcraft. Sadly, she wasn't able to give the finishing touches because of her work with the wards.

No matter, she will finish it another time.

Greed for Speed New
Greed for Speed

You were Sir Percival, and to say you are frustrated would be quite the understatement.

It had all started with this so called Shattering. Times had grown desperate, and a new queen had taken the throne.

You were honor bound to serve, despite any lingering disagreements you may possess. Those were irrelevant to your duty.

The people were opposed to this change in leadership at first, not helped by the Lady of the Lake and her champions disparaging the Queen. They had been driven out, but then came the refugees from Soleana. Her Majesty had allowed them to stay, taking special interest in their leader, young Princess Elise.

You and Sir Galahad had warned her of the risks, but at the end of it all, they served the throne. Their warnings were disregarded, as was her Majesty's right. Nothing had come of it beyond petty squabbles and disagreements, so perhaps your concern was unwarranted.

Still, something did not sit quite right with you…

However, all that paled in comparison to what happened at the beginning of the month.

At first, her Majesty had been overjoyed, as much as she tried to hide it. You could not blame her. You could remember the Blue hero, and were not blind to your feelings. His return could bring prosperity as much as it could bring ruin.

Sadly, it appeared he had picked the latter.

Sir Sonic, once a helpful if perplexing man, had been striking their strongholds, sewing discord, and causing untold headaches for her order.

With him came strange allies. One resembled the Lady of the Lake, another her champion, another the Blacksmith and the last one was a bat you did not recognize. The 4 claimed to be pirates, and they frequently assisted Sir Sonic in his anarchistic schemes, taking many spoils of war.

As you lamented on how things reached this point, you barely dodged another attack from your former would be ally.

"Ha! C'mon, toots, you gotta do better than that." Sonic grinned smugly as he unfurled, avoiding your blade swings with ease.

"My name is-" You start, and he blows a raspberry at you.

"Yeesh, I heard ya the first time! Ya got no sense of humor, bucket breath." He chuckled. As you swung at him again, he dodged, causing you to accidentally destroy a fruit cart.

As you went to apologize for your error, he took advantage of your distraction to attack you from behind, sending you to the ground.

"Have you no honor, knave!?" You snap. Sonic's grin falls, for but a moment before it returns, but it seems… different. He puts his foot on your chest as his ne'er-do-well allies arrive, looting again.

"Honor? Lemme tell you something, kitty. Honor has no place in the world. It's kill or be killed. And I ain't killing you because you're FUN to screw with. I am soaking in the good vibes now, but that's not going to last forever. Soon I'll grow bored of this little game, and then you'll see how little honor I really have. It's sad really. You waste your time clinging onto these values, like they MATTER. Like ANYTHING matters but having a good time… bah, why am I bothering? You do-gooders always are so stubborn."

You hiss at him, and he seems nonplussed as he forces off your helmet.

"Nighty night, kitty."

He headbutts you, and everything goes dark.

Xxx

You were Sonic the Hedgehog, and you felt you had made your point. You stared at the defeated cat, pondering if you could get away with a kiss.

"Sir Sonic!"

Bah. Seems not. The adoring public was here.

As everyone cheered for you and your saps, you raised your hand.

"Nice seeing ya'll, but You know, got things to do, people to help or whatever. Laters!"

You dash off, your "Freedom Fighters" trying to keep up. That knock off of pinkie (thankfully much more… manageable) squinted at you, but you paid it no mind. As long as you gave these morons lots of looting to do, they would eat out of the palm of your hands, especially with their captain having long since abandoned them and you oh so kindly taking them in.

Of course, he had been… persuaded, but they didn't need to know that, did they?

Xxx

You were Black Rose, and you were finally going to confront him.

The imposter.

You had kept things to yourself. Batten, Catfish and Sails were having the time of their lives, and to say you weren't happy to be doing more piracy adjacent things after so long would be a lie, but there was a limit. You had heard his little speech to His defeated opponent.

You had not known Sonic for long, but you knew him just enough to know he would never say half those things.

There were little things too. He had a shorter temper, but he always managed to pass off any blow ups as joking around. Not to mention the weird get up.

And so, as her crewmates partied, you went to his room.

"Yer not Sonic."

He sighed and adjusted his sunglasses, stretching lazily. He let the accusation hang in the air for a moment before shaking his head.

"Blacky R, baby, c'mon. You don't want to do this." He chuckled.

"Aye'm thinkin' aye do. You lied. Yer an imposter." You pushed. His jovial exterior cracked as he growled.

"Watch it."

"Yer a fake. A phony. A copy. A-"

His hand was on your throat faster than you could blink.

"Listen here, little Rascal, I'm the genuine article. He's the one cramping MY style!" He snapped.

"Yer'll NEVER be like him."

"I don't gotta be. His handsome if irritating mug hasn't been seen in AGES. People love me. And that makes it all the more fun! I can do what I want and if I spin a good yarn, these saps will lap it up!"

"What happens when aye tell 'em da truth then?"

There's a moment of silence as he brings you closer to him.

"...You know, you're right. I'm not like Sonic. The Sonic everyone is head over heels for wouldn't do this and then lie and say his enemies got you."

Snap.

With your last thoughts, you dimly hoped your crew would be ok…

Xxx

You set down the stupid pink hedgehog.

You damaged a window and roughed yourself up a bit.

When the others found you, you gave a sob story that a Stealth agent of Camelot had broken in, and Black Rose had given up everything to save you.

They mourned their fallen comrade, as you hid a satisfied smirk at getting away with it.

You were Anti-Sonic, and everything was going your way.

Results: Evil/Anti-Sonic has arrived in Camelot and is causing trouble.
