Pssst!

Hey, you! I got what yer lookin' for, right here. Yeah, it's a new post, enjoyment guaranteed.

Oh, hey, you know those guys, McClaw and TaleisinSkye? Give 'em some props, they had to help edit this thing...

... Oh hey, look, here comes Saurial! Gotta go, Bye! <Disappears in a cloud of sulphurous smoke>

If they consider Hiccup as a tinker, they'll probably consider MacGyver as one too. I wonder how many inventors and engineers got mistaken as parahuman tinkers in Earth Bet.

Serious humorous compliance Dennis is no surprise. Still curious about Lee's and Lung's tests to prove something to the deities they got the attention of :3

Well that was thoroughly adorable.

I like actual smart Dennis. Not been done that often.

Ahhh, young love! *Looks around to make sure there is no annoyed dragon about* And with an older woman!
Dennis:

"Some women age like vinegar. Others like fine wine. Hailey? Is a rare vintage unto herself that Kings and Emperors would weep in awe over."

"Yes, I have my moments, but I'll try to not have too many, lest it ruin my reputation. Narf."

Spoilering because this involves stuff currently on the CTC thread, and I'd rather say something now instead of waiting a few weeks and forgetting in the meantime.

Dimensional doppelgängers and altverse versions of oneself are often recognizable as such, the same face, the same eyes.

However, when experiences begin to match up, the same memories, the same scars, that implies something... more.

Something to think about.

This day has both been informative and completely useless," Paul groused.

"Not your fault," Dennis added. "PRT rules require 'objective testing by a neutral third party'. I just think they didn't have capes as destructive as a dragon from myth, legend, and fantasy fiction in mind."

"No," the man admitted. "No, they did not." He scrolled through something on his tablet, then looked askance at Dennis. "Nothing in here says you have any knowledge of the rules and regs," he commented.

"Can't know how far to push if I don't know where the line is," Dennis quipped, buffing one set of claws against his scutes. "The clown act is an act. If people think I'm just the class clown , they underestimate me. It drives the bad guys nuts, too, unless they're Uber and Leet. And it cheers up the other Wards, especially the younger ones, though Vista will never admit it."

*Here*
"Several points to you, then." Paul reviewed his tablet. "I've got a note here from Andraste that you should have several minor abilities to play with. Care to demonstrate?"
"Plus I have a lot of fun doing it," Dennis grinned.

Add this?

So, what are the Entities up to?

Imagine, if you will, a goldfish bowl, in someone's laboratory. In it are two gold fish. One is floating belly up, pining for the fjords, shuffled off this mortal coil, gone to meet its maker, etc.

The second is not swimming in the water. It has, instead, somehow built an island, managed to grow trees on it, and has used said trees to build a cabin. Said gold fish is outside splitting firewood using a golden beam of energy. After a while, he goes inside the cabin, and the lights go out as someone turns the lights out in the lab.

That's what the entities are up to.

tl;dr - Eden is dead/in a persistent vegatative state, Scion is wondering what to do with the rest of his very long life.

and finished with a classic "Eat at Fugly Bob's" advertisement on his side.
I've never heard of this one before, but it's exactly the sort of amusing, tasteless, and tacky thing he'd do. I want to see more of this!
"I'll have to ask that you not do the plaid again, at least without warning."
...That's a new one. I wonder if he can use that on villains?
"I did not, however, expect the demolition of the course to be so complete. Did you have to go back and knock that last bit down?"

"Yes, I did," Dennis replied with a grin. "If only to be complete and thorough. It clashed with the new landscaping."
I'm surprised he got away with this. That last line also seems vaguely familiar to me, as well...?

What's CTC and can I have the links please?

Well duh, MacGyver was occasionally pretty silly even in the old series... even if some of the things were sort of workable or theoretically possible, others really weren't. So definitely a tinker rating.

As for inventors and engineers whose stuff still follows physics as more than just a general suggestion, well, that'll depend on where along the Worm canon-fanon-au continuum you happen to be.

Heh, like MP3.1415player's Distance Learning for Fun and Profit's Taylor. Read that at some point, you won't regret it, trust me.

Well, from what I know they made those mistakes on purpose, since they didn't want to actually tell people how to make homemade explosives and the like.
A real life MacGyver would be much different without the censoring. And I get the sense that the PRT, Protectorate, and the gangs in Worm would see any inventors and engineers as tinkers.

Actually, the original MacGyver series did do stuff that would actually work... Just usually not to the degree the show portrayed. The physics and engineering was sound. The scale was not. It was still a fun show.
