Question for build options, with an eye to finalizing that this evening:

Fasts (made via shapeshifting) actually do function like a limited-capacity hyperspace arsenal, right? Do you need seeress help for something like that? I don't think Erik had hyperspace arsenal shenanigans before, and he'd like to, so I'm seeking guidance on how to make that happen.

We've not encountered any swarm enemies as of yet, save perhaps for the raptors.
There were the time-stopping gators, who operate in at least one large group, but it looks as if most conventional fighting styles are kind of useless against them because you just get hilariously timestopped in midair while attacking them. Got to get a bit creative.

Hmmmm, is it possible to build a house without clearing it out until next season lol?
I imagine you could build a house on uncleared land, but you'd risk having all kinds of gribblies creep up on you unobserved, and you wouldn't be able to do meaningful agriculture, I'd think.

(Law Proposal) Njal Ulfson vs. Agmundr Idskapadr
- Landowners on the edge of the settlement should be allowed first picks on gains earned from incursions originating beyond their land.
- Landowners only gain first pick on gains if they actively contributed to the defense themselves, not if they allowed others to defend their land.

@mythfan12 and @Aabcehmu , pick your judges and make your cases!

Does anybody want an Ant Fylgia to provide them shield kunna support and possible spying/scouting? I am willing to spare up to three of them. One is already being commited to the Oni Quarry expedition and one was going to help Kare, but he forgot to bring it along.

No problem, happy to help. So do you still want Fasts?

Hmmm.

I was going to say yes, but with Time Kunna not a thing...

Can I get "Enhanced Speed" as a general buff to both my physical speed and my reaction speed? If I'm getting into guerilla warfare against the crabs, I think that'll save my life more than extra supplies will, for now at least.

If not, then Fasts will do, and I'll just have to Win and make use of all that storage in moving the loot :V

Fylgja 3 would get you a mythical creature as your fylgja, which is sweet. Personally, though, shooting from 0-3 that quickly seems wrong to me.

Fair, I'd probably want to go for a right and proper Mini-Quest about that.

Hunting and Trapping have a fair amount of overlap, but taking both would make you really good at hunting critters.

But would they make me good at making traps for killing sentients/sapients/warfare purposes? Or would I want to go for "Traps" or even "Guerilla Warfare" instead?

Bone Kunna 3 wouldn't technically give you anything new, but would amp up the power of your Bones stuff significantly. I think we're definitely talking conjured skeletal dinosaurs even at Bone 2, but 3 would amp that up a fair bit.

I've managed Bone Raptors at 1, though I have zero idea of their actual effectiveness because Time Gators, so what I'm hearing is that Bone 3 probably gets me to "Bone T Rex, Properly Powered" levels.

Right now I think I'm leaning "Hunting 2, Guerilla Warfare Or Equivalent 1", since I don't think trying to overpower the Crabs is a win condition for me.

They do, yeah. You can either make them yourself (though we, as PCs, probably only have about 2 slots worth of shapeshifting naturally unless we buy specific traits to improve that) or get a shapecrafter to install them. Seeresses are not involved with Fasts at all.

I mean...she easily could do it on her own. All the Norse are physically superhuman, remember. Even a very physically weak Norsewoman is two or three times as strong as most real world humans, and most are stronger than that.
Yeah. There's a reason that in my omake I had Svanfrid, Erik's wife, casually carrying a water barrel half a mile.

@Walliseatscheese and @Simon_Jester for the record, IF has just confirmed on Discord you can split your time gators and get rewards from both the shapecrafter and seeress. You gain nothing from eating their hearts, however, and a Time Kunna is not permissible.
Gotcha. Still gonna go 'seeress.'

OK. I was imagining that Erik might not be up to shapeshifting, or might not have picked up the knack. He's still kind of young even by Norse standards. But now, yes.

I'm not sure I know how it works, but I wouldn't mind an emergency barrier in case Crab Stalking Goes Wrong.

Basically, I can use kunna right my Fylgia and I can summon up to three instances of my shield kunna at once. My ant is also good for spying according to IF and I am getting eyespeech to talk with people with my Fylgia.

You can get Increased Speed from the Shapecrafter, yeah. Added to your sheet.

That seems reasonable. I dunno what skill that would be. Ambushes, maybe? Or just Stealth. We have people with Stealth.

I understood it as "By giving like 15 to each of them both of you get 2 Free Upgrades, one from each"?

This is correct, yes.

Njal's choice for judges are:

Valo Halvarson
Gunnar Toad-Terror
Torgarr Villagefeeder
Erik Hardhead
Grid Frostdottir
Bjorn Drakeslayer
Fernweh Enginweiss
Ivor Lindholm

Hrósvior Stigandsson

[X] Akali Nightsinger

[X] Main Action: Accompany Gunnar and his party to the Oni Quarry North of his lands.

[X] Passive Actions: While in preparation for the Quarry trip Akali grabs a spear, goes down to the beach and begins spear fishing, using his Martial style to shine and attract fish in the shallow reaches of the water, all while humming a jaunty work song.

-[X] Prepares his siblings for their future duties by offering them to other households to help grow Golden Grass for the year.

-[X] Patrol around the beach village at night, particularly keeping an eye on the children and eyeing the trees for flying threats.

-[X] Gather medium sized branches from the clearing efforts and begin carving wooden statues to leave by the homes of other villagers. A statue of Grid in mid flight for her, the Void Hawk injured and chest burrowed crying out in pain for Kare, a nondescript one armed man grasping a sword for Sigmund, a pile of Storm Toads dead with a man standing atop them for Gunnar.

Magni and Migna Arnolfson/Arnolfsdottir (12)

Appearance: Both darker skinned noting to their mother's foreign heritage though not inhumanly like Akali, Magni keeps his walnut hair short and curly with a constant mischievous grin and green eyes twinkling in contemplation of his surroundings. Migna bearing long smooth straight black hair and grey eyes; while better behaved, is no less energetic, keeping tabs on other kids their age and even checking in with adults trying to be helpful wherever she can.

Backstory: Born a few years after Akali they were quickly beloved and cared for by their parents and brother both. Spending time in the same mountain origins but not blessed with Akali's martial prowess they were even more sheltered and h knowledgeable of their land and it's customs. While they were not completely aware of the circumstances that forced their exodus from their lands they know that they still have their brother to protect and care for them.

I've been picked as a judge on almost every case. It's nice to see that people have some faith in me.
Clan Farfaxung clearly is considered a beacon of trustworthiness, honesty, and reliability, given how we keep getting picked as judges. That, or were some of the only people who can be counted on to not have a stake in whatever clan Jornblod have going on, given how they make up like, a fifth of the existing player base or something.
