How exactly does it punish you?
I bought the Mushling so that I wouldn't face legal trouble for going on adventures. There were things I could have bought that would have been better, but as a responsible member of the community I knew that ensuring I followed the law took precedence.

I am not opposed to allowing those who violated that law amnesty as an act of generosity from the community, but if we are only generous with those who have violated the law, then aren't those of us who followed the law being encouraged not to do so in the future?

We are not giving anyone amnesty, we're changing the old law because it's unreasonable to expect everyone doing anything even slightly dangerous to have to buy a Mushling or face legal consequences.

Oh, if we are changing the law going forward then that's fine, as long as those who have already violated the law are punished as deemed appropriate.

[X] Oddr Gunnvaldson
-[X] Minor Action: Start making the farm plot in Oddr's land, and work on cultivating Golden Grass.
-[X] Minor Action: Craft more arrows to recoup with the losses from the skeleton war and the quarry expedition.
-[X] Minor Action: Attend Moli's party.

If you want to take a survey of each person's land and take each one who's not growing golden grass up before the thing then you can.
Yeah, I wasn't going to mention it, but there's no actual way for the Thing to bring people before it or to punish them. That is the preview of the individuals.

So, if someone *doesn't* grow Golden Grass, someone has to audit them for it.

@DeadmanwalkingXI I'll get Supported Grip as Sigmund's second shapecrafting.

Added.

Good I follow the law by accident.
I will continue to ignore the law and do what I want and just assume it will work out.

Our laws are mostly pretty reasonable, so it probably won't be a big deal. If you run into one, Ragnarr, Sigmund, Agnes or someone else will tell you. At that point compliance with the law is strongly advised.

yeah the jungle hills tiles are difficult to farm and need a lot of clearing
I'm not gonna clear cut it, I'm going to grow better lumber by selective breeding.

My Kunna lets me tell the traits of wood, and grow a tree (limitedly) so after next season it will be a slow going passive.
Next season people will cut a lot of trees for me anyway.
