So, in that case, I'm thinking this:

[X] Plan Talking To Dad
-[X] (Seasonal) (Seasonal) Celebrate Yule
--[X] Compose a poem about all those we love
-[X] (What Happened to Me?) Something happened to you, start asking around.
--[X] Dad
--[X] Ask about everything: the possession (including what Aki said about being named after someone), the witch, our fylgja, hugareida, and muna alike.
-[X] (Visit) Go visit...
--[X] One of the two undiscovered farms
---[X] The newly built one to the north
---[X] Taking Abjorn, Stigr, and Aki with you (assuming they want to come)
-[X] (Steinarr's Training) (Optional) Ask Steinarr to teach you a trick/some tricks (Write in)
--[X] Ask about and train something defensive, preferably with Standstill but with Shields if that doesn't work 4d6
-[X] (Training) Hamr (15 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Axes 1d6
--[X] Train Dodge 1d6
-[X] (Training) Hugr (7 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Hugareida 3d6
--[X] Train Tactics 1d6
-[X] (Training) Fylgja (4 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Fylgja Itself 1d6
--[X] Train Command 1d6
-[X] (Orthstirr Usage)
--[X] 4 Hamr
--[X] 4 Hugr
--[X] 2 Fylgja
--[X] 3 Poetry
--[X] 2 free for tricks

Okay, so, the idea here for training is that we probably aren't gonna actually complete the trick no matter what (and throwing too many dice risks wasting successes in the short term...overflow successes go towards Mastery but we can't afford to pursue that as of yet), but getting at least basic Hugareida is likely necessary for knowing how Standstill works and thus a priority, and so is getting the trick within the next couple of turns. Other stuff is less urgent and thus gets the 1d6 per thing treatment for now.

For non-training stuff, we need to have a talk with dad about, well, a whole lot of stuff really, and let's explore! Going to Asvir to see the seeress requires waiting for Summer, and this one thus seems as good an option as any. If someone has a specific present idea for Yule I'll edit it in, but I admit I'm drawing a blank there.

Oh, and about Poetry: We're definitely gonna get more of that later, since we've discovered (in addition to its other uses) it's a way to increase our Capacity, which we care about a fair bit...but on the other hand, we're currently at Capacity 10 with 2 filled. Maybe 3 if we can, in fact, get a Standstill Trick/Spell and it counts toward that, and raising Hugr is cheaper than raising Poetry twice so we'd preferentially do that if we did need to raise Capacity right now. So that's important long term, but not short term.

Huh, neato, a Cultivator Superman type hurled over this way or something?

Kind of want to poke and prod the new guys too. Syncreticism in your specific style of kung fu can be helpful!

Oh. I only realise now that the 'meteor' is most likely what was stolen from the alchemist. From what I can tell, he's a cultivator, too, going off of the description where he resided and Aki's words. I don't even know how we're supposed to deal with that - Halla doesn't even know about cultivation. Maybe Steinarr could hold his own against one? Even them, I wouldn't want him to try fighting against all of them. Let's just hope we're not seen as the thieves, I guess.

Maybe include our owl fylgja in the stuff to tell dad about? Not quite as important, but he may be happy to see it.

Yule...

With a father that loves us more than life and sometimes has to go raiding.
A mother that wishes we were girlier.
A brother who will leave to work in a different town.
A sister who... exists.

I'd guess either a little memento that dad and bro can take with them, that mom would enjoy as a sign of us doing stuff besides being a warrior.
Or a poem about family and friends.

Also, do people think we should start sword training to take advantage of the new item sitting around, or not? I'm thinking not, personally, but could be persuaded.
I will say that Steinarr won't just let Halla have Sparrowfall (for reasons relating to how he got his hands on it in the first place), though you certainly can try to convince him to part with it. However, he did acquire another, if lesser, sword during his raids that he would be absolutely willing to give you.

edit: changed 'sword' to 'lesser'. Seems like I've got swords on the brain, lmao.

So, we learned about the meteor (Possibly a sealed evil in a can?), Started integrating Aki into the band and Steiner has come back.... oh, and know Christians are powered by faith.

Definitely should talk with the mendicant, maybe learn the language later on... and learn reading/writing, then make it Norse :V

If he knows how to heal, we could learn that too. the young squire, im not sure, but we will see...
gotta keep him away from the armor though, cant let him get into it and bind it.... but bound equipment does sound nice to get for our own.

I agree that the witch might know something more of the meteor... and we DID wanted to bring her something instead of our fylgja.... or wait until we can undo the meteor ourselves?

Edit: Also, kinda interesting how Halla dreams about the random povs...
Edit 2: Aki mentioned that we have something in our soul, which is good if we are named after an ancestor (we dont know that IC), maybe include that as well in the talk with Steinar?
Probably wouldn't hurt to put some Orthstirr into silver tongue again? we ARE meeting with new people (Who could be Hod's family) and it probably doesn't hurt with a poetry combo...

I find this unsurprising. But yeah, finding out about foreign cultivation styles is interesting.

I'm skeptical that any medical expertise he has will transfer well. In a world like this it's probably magical, and I think we're better off picking up seidr for that (in fact, we already have...a little, anyway). We definitely want to learn more, but I suspect it'll be more useful in terms of knowing what Christians can do than expanding our own capabilities.

She doesn't want our fylgja (which can't be taken anyway), she wants us. Well, she does when she's not getting freaked out by our spirit guardian. And I'm very against giving her anything powerful, dangerous, or both. We'll do her a favor when we think of an innocuous one, I think. We'll see what comes up...we do owe her, but we owe her an equivalent favor and I suspect that's actually not that high a bar, really.

Edit: Also, kinda interesting how Halla dreams about the random povs...

Probably to do with our spirit companion/mentor. How I'm less sure.

Edit 2: Aki mentioned that we have something in our soul, which is good if we are named after an ancestor (we dont know that IC), maybe include that as well in the talk with Steinar?

I phrased it as telling him everything. I would hope this would be included, yes. EDIT: Added it in explicitly anyway.

We need to keep some free for situational uses, which this probably qualifies as, honestly. Like, this would almost certainly be an encounter and we could probably manage to put the orthstirr in then. Keeping at least 12 free for emergency medical treatment is also a good call and that means investing too much in non-combat will start really biting into our combat options...which we might need.

The confession turn used silvertounge with orthstirr, and it had helped with two important events though....
Confessing at the feast (Hugr (Silver-Tongue): 6, 6, 4, 4, 6, 3, 3) 10 Successes... Oh my goodness
the confession itself
(Hugr (Silver-Tongue): 4, 3, 2, 4, 4, 5, 4) 6 Successes
and inviting Aki on the exploration.

And we didn't got the option for either to add.
And there isn't much reason to, when we are gonna fight.
And i did said to get it from poetry, because they should have some synergy anyways.

Yes, but neither of those were a potential combat encounter or other situation with lots of different options for how to solve it, which is where we start being able to assign unused orthstirr. In both cases we knew the situation going in and thus used our pre-assigned stuff.

Also, we were maxed out on both Hugr and Silver-Tongue that turn. Adding any more orthstirr was literally impossible even if it would normally be an option.

And there isn't much reason to, when we are gonna fight.

If we assign orthstirr it's gone for the turn. So if we assign some to Silver-Tongue it will be unavailable when and if combat comes up.

And i did said to get it from poetry, because they should have some synergy anyways.

Not for what we need Poetry for this turn. Like, they can both help in social situations but in very different ways and Silver-Tongue definitely doesn't help with composing a poem and, at the moment, we are a mediocre poet and are trying to come up with something actually good for our family and friends and thus need all the help we can get.

Not sure tbh. I don't think they would've rigged the meteor to explode if forced open if whatever is in the meteor was better off destroyed. Whatever it is, I don't think it's intrinsically harmful, because logically, it would have either been destroyed outright instead of being launched our way, or intentionally unleashed on impact, depending on how malicious the person launching it was.

Whatever it is, has to be valuable enough that 'deny it to the enemy' was the priority (as evidenced by it being rigged to explode, and in being chucked in a random direction), but it's destruction was less preferable than simply getting it away from whatever situation caused it to be chucked our way, yet still more preferable than anyone else getting their hands on it.

I mean, all that means is that it's valuable, not that it isn't evil. A demon with useful information trapped in a box would absolutely provoke this response from many cultivators, just for example. I agree that nothing necessitates it being evil, but there are no indications it isn't evil either.

It's powerful and I think that's all we really know.

Hmmm. Is this our first encounter with a foreign cultivation method?
It is, yes. It's far more of a 'traditional cultivation' style than the Norse method. Just realized I didn't answer that.

It could be something that's very hard to destroy? And the exploding mechanism is to dissuade people from opening the box with the harmful thing.

Imperial Fister, quick question, do songs fall under poetry?
Stupid question I know, but poetry makes me think of poems , even though poets can make songs as well.

Sure, but if it's hard to destroy, an explosion will just release it while harming anyone nearby who might have been able to capture it again. There are typically better ways to dissuade curiosity than that, and if we hadn't brought Aki along, we wouldn't have known about the explosion until it triggered anyways, which, since we were curious and wouldn't have known not to force it open, was quite a potential bad end in the making.
