Is there any way we could just borrow a ladder or something? Climb a tree instead of the hedge, maybe, and jump over it?

So, i just noticed, but @DeadmanwalkingXI , Keep Looking uses 11 Orthstirr, unless the 2 in climbing is coming from the two in Hamr.

[X] Plan Keep Looking For The Witch

Here is a version without climbing

[X] Plan Keep Looking For The Witch But No Climbing
-[X] (Seasonal) Check and reset the animal traps.
-[X] (Personal) Abjorn came by, asking if you wanted to go chop wood with him. (Hamr)
-[X] (Exploration) Go on a walk through...
--[X] The Hading!
---[X] Try to find a way into the Hedge
-[X] (Training) Hamr (3 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Hamr itself - 3d6
--[X] Train Shield 3d6
-[X] (Training) Hugr (7 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Poetry 1d6
-[X] (Orthstirr Usage)
--[X] 4 Hamr
--[X] 4 Hugr
--[X] 3 free for tricks

Edit: Took out the d6s from the Orthstirr usage, because we dont roll for that and i couldn't take it anymore.

Clearly we should set the hedge on fire.
We could try just asking to enter. Maybe that hedge is a wall the witch put up to to protect herself.
If that fails we can Go to axing to enter. If it can fell thieves it can fell some stupid hedge. (Or more accurate: make a Halla sized hole)

You know it's just an observation but I have to laugh at Halla having a crush on the only guy we know of that's bigger than her dad. Talk about liking tall guys and all that.

We have 11 Orthstirr, check the character sheet. We had 9 when the vote started, but when we got two more (from KreenWarrior's poetry) I edited it slightly to account for them.

Added an approval vote for this. I honestly only went with climbing because we're notably better at it (having the skill) than we are at...whatever getting through the hedge is, but if people prefer this version I'm fine with that.

I'd also be fine with asking, for the record, it's the rest of the other plan I have issues with (ie: very probably at least partially wasting an action asking dad about stuff that isn't his area, spending all our training time on Poetry when it's already one of our highest skills mechanically and Hamr stuff is likely to be needed much more urgently and imminently).

I don't care what we do as long as we don't climb over a magic killer hedge

This isn't legal. Our Hamr is only at 2, which caps it at 3d6 maximum...upon reflection, I'm actually not sure whether that counts the free starting d6 as I was assuming, but this is illegal either way (the cap for Orthstirr investment in Hamr is 3 at most).

@Imperial Fister do the dice maxes on the base stats count the free starting d6? That seems important to know.

They do. I'll mark that down. Good catch, I didn't even consider that.

I didn't even consider it either until I was about to note that 4 Hamr was illegal and went 'Wait, how much actually is legal?' I initially (and apparently correctly) assumed it counted the free die, but as I thought about it, I realized skills are listed as potentially level+1 extra dice so attributes could theoretically be as well.

You know does it say something that bloodthirsty hasn't been a bad trait to get considering how much combat we've been in?

Well, I mean, one out of two of those fights we could easily have avoided. Technically two out of two, though we didn't know that ice skating would lead to a fight, just some sort of encounter, so I'm not inclined to count that one.

Not that we wanted to avoid them, mind you, since we want to become a warrior and gain orthstirr and fighting is a good way to do those things. Which does indeed make bloodthirsty a fine trait for us...as long as we're going to be looking for fights anyway, it's not real problem.

Honestly, i was hoping that the training will up our Hamr, so the Orthstirr will be fine... but good catch. will leave it as is for now, what with the QM saying the extra will overflow to the reserv

Even if we up Hamr, it would still only make 3 orthstirr investment legal, not 4, and I think training increases to stats don't kick in until the end of the turn. But yeah, it's not a huge priority to fix since the overflow just becomes free dice.
