If we the thread get a say in it I think we probably do heal him, I just dunno if we do. And Logi didn't actually insult Steinarr, just imply he was more badass. Different thing.
I mean, I'd say he did:
Logi, to his credit, only hesitates a heartbeat before pulling the svida from the sheath across his back. "And what if I'm ready right now, huh? You ready to be humiliated in front of your daughter, you Gods-damned wash-up?"
Though of course, Halla can be.. well, Halla:
"Do you also speak Latin?" You barely even wait for him to start nodding before you grin and grab him by the ropes binding his wrists together. He yelps as you lead him out from under the wooden roof to stand beneath the blue sky. As you exit the house, though, you're met by an eager-eyed Arnfinn Heavystep.

Fair. I was remembering the conversation before he showed up. I'd still say that's less of an issue than the mention of Atilla.
Then again, Halla has accumulated a rep of quoth, 'heart softer than downy wool', though maybe that may have been at the back of her mind for this.

Or, being of Norsely culture, she's of the opinion that wounds are meh and unimportant.

Damn, i didn't remember that. That was really low and uncalled for, i am surprised Steinarr didn't beat him up harder.

Now i am liking Logi even less, wich is quite the feat.

At the moment, I'm feeling sorry for Logi. It seems very likely that his best friend, who he is oath sworn to, has betrayed everything he ever cared about to the person who murdered most of the people he knew as a child. For all his asshole behavior (and there's been a fair bit), that sounds devastating on a level beyond what the behavior we've actually seen deserves.

Of course, that assumes he doesn't know about the Dorri/Drysalt connection. If he knows about that he's a complete piece of shit for whom I have no sympathy at all. We'll have to see which turns out to be true.

Yeah, if he dosen't know i feel bad for him. I think he is an asshole but still feel bad.

If he knows (wich i personaly find unlikely) then is a really horrible person.

I cannot do that, I'm sorry to say

Fair enough. This kinda makes me suspect that he doesn't know and telling him could flip him... c'est la vie!

As a related question, is there any kind of serious oath we could take (regarding the divination we did) which is universally accepted among the Norse? Something like swearing on the Norns, Odin, Ymir's teeth, or something? Or does nothing really exist beyond the usual penalties of Nid for liars? I'm thinking of how we would prove believably that our divination was real to a third party.

Also, on another note, just wanted to leave a non-nagging reminder about this:
--[X] Meditate and practice on the parent Style of Time Stands Still. Our goal is to develop a core movement enhancement technique to serve as a foundation for the rest of the Style, similar to how Stoked Dice function for Stoker State. Using our extensive practice with breathing exercises and our recent experience watching Careful-Stepper, we will work out how to use our carefully rationed breath and integrate "hops" of Stopped Time into our ordinary movements and attacks, making us faster and much more difficult to predict as we appear to stutter in and out of time. – 1 Research and 1 Reward Die courtesy of [@Skippy](https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/members/166/)

Meditating on Time Stands Still
(I'll do this one tomorrow, when I'm in a better headspace. My apologies)

By the way @Imperial Fister, it obviously does not make sense in the order of operations right now, but could we get to this at some point? Maybe when we get back home?
Darn, I forgot! I'll absolutely do it when you folks get back home. Heck, I might even work it into the return trip itself

(Fine by me if you want to leave it until later, just thought I'd leave a reminder in case you did want to get to it and it would be helpful.)

The big thing is that despite that, we still have:
As Steinarr wrenches Crowfeeder free and helps Logi to his feet—the spar having settled their differences—you realize what Blackhand meant by 'victory.'
And in later updates you have Steinarr and Logi working together to do stuff like fix up our firestorm practice runs.

Yeah, Steinarr is definitely where we got Friendly from. And in fairness, we basically did this sort of thing with Gabriel (he actually slapped Halla before the first time we beat him up), to say nothing of Tryggr and Trausti. This guy just brought up a sensitive family matter and is someone we expect not to see again.

[X] Sagaseeker Upgrade: Jotun-Skin-Splitter
[X] Sagaseeker Upgrade: Jotun-Shapeshifting

Both are nice.

I'd feel bad about using Odr on recruitment. It's not mind control, but it may be too close for comfort when used to persuade people into serving you. Skavidr I could be convinced to add some, potentially.
we could use Odr on perception tricks though, like goal tell and such. its more for improved information gathering than to grease persuasion, even if it does help with that too.

Depending on how things go with Skavidr, I did have a hilarious idea: We could tell Dorri we caught him spying on us. That seems likely to allay a lot of suspicions he might have of us, since it makes it look like we still trust him and never even considered Skavidr could be from him.

We also have a ready made excuse for why we don't suspect he is a spy for Dorri: Gudbrand is on our boat, and he's staying at Dorri's household, so it's not like we can hide anything anyway.

===

Actually.

We should make a point of asking Skavidr where he's from. If it is from the same area as where the Vittra were from (Norrland) that would be quite interesting information.

That's a really clever idea, and also exciting, I'm down for it. We could suggest he was a spy for Jarl Erikaer, even.

We probably want a good answer prepped beyond "business deal, nothing to see here" if he asks why we went to see Corpsemaker, however.

If we could convince Dorri that we suspect Corpsemaker is behind the assassination, that would be perfect...

Hey Blackhand have you ever heard of someone with a human, dwarf or elf as a fylgja?
'You occasionally hear of someone having a woman as a fylgja, but that's just the fylgjukona making an appearance.'

--[X] Talk with him and try and get information out of him in regards to who he might be working for.
--[X] Depending on how the conversation goes, we will likely also give him technically true answers about why we're not recruiting him ('it goes against the advice of a spirit I trust' after getting Blackhand to advise us against it, for example) or may confront him with having spotted him reporting on us (chalking it up to luck, mostly) and demand to know what's going on with that
--[X] Set up Raven's Unriddling in advance, and use Goal Tell spending 3 Odr to hopefully increase the amount of info given, use Frenzy if we can, and use our other social Tricks as needed and useful (particularly Lie Sense), and adding up to 6 Odr to the social roll involved
-[X] Note: We will take the time to actually recruit Hakon and Alvis, plus anyone from this turn's attempts who seems promising.

---[X] This is done on the final day and includes Hakon, Alvis, and anyone from this turn's options who we actually recruit
-[X] (Training) Fylga (506 xp to rank up)
    --[X] Train Fylgja itself 186 xp (93xp)

--[X] Add a Standing Order for our Fylgja to use the Cool Off Trick on us whenever we feel a flash of intense, sudden, anger.

I'll grab a Silver-Tongue roll
