I thought goal tell does this?

While I am happy for hamstring slash, a blinding attack would also be good, either with ignition or just as a hamr attack, like Triggr did with us, flashing by reflecting light from his sax... Though, if Sageseeker can just slice everything after his godly blood bath, just slashing others eyes would work too.

Yeah, we definitely need details there. There was a Discord discussion where Alectai seemed to have gotten it, but I very much did not (I was a bit distracted, for one thing). @Alectai could you give a summary there so I can put that in the plan?

No, that tells you what they want, which can reveal some sorts of deception, but only some sorts...it wouldn't ever have revealed Dorri's treachery because what he wants (political power) is well known...only the lengths he will go to are secret.

I agree entirely...there wasn't quite the spare xp in the plan for it, but an Ignition Trick for that is on the list.

Made a slight adjustment to the privacy runes. As the 5 line variant referencing Odin's riddle duel with Vafþrúðnir was mentioned by IF to be the best one. Copied here for reference:

Words woven within, whispered not without.
Secrets spoken sealed shut.
Ears outside, eavesdropping inside,
Hears only hearsay and halftruths -

Raven's unanwerable riven riddle.

Intent is to conceal all spoken information - especially secret information - from prying ears, and additionally make it so that people who try nevertheless get vague false information that could be plausibly be deciphered.. except it can't. It's nonsense to send them on a wild goose chase after red herrings.

Written in Ljóðaháttr (Galdralag) form - the fifth line echoes the fourth line. In this case, Raven's unanwerable riven riddle is a direct reference Odin's riddle duel with Vafþrúðnir, when he gave a riddle that couldn't be answered.

Blackhand/Halla:

Are people with Yellow-Colored Eyes, like Drysalt or Lidrun, something that's basically unheard of, or something that's actually fairly common? In NorseQuest I mean.

(IRL: Yellow Eyes = Jaundice, you're probably walking dead from liver failure.)

Did Absalom Careful-Stepper have a Spotlight effect, did you detect Fervor, Zeal, Odr, Orth.. anything?
What do the rumors about you in the Hading generally 'say'? Both the kind and unkind ones.
Does everyone on the trip just like, assumed they died or something? Jotnar and Careful-Stepper and all.

Sagaseeker:

Do you feel any different after bathing in a Jotnar's blood?

Sometimes, weird things like yellow, steel, and red eyes or feathery hair get into bloodlines as a result of ones heritage. It crops up from time to time.

Absalom Careful-Stepper has Odr.
Most about you are pleasant, but they're not as kind to Abjorn
Well, you're the only one who was unconscious, so everyone else was awake as Careful-Stepper dropped you folks off.

You can't reach Sagaseeker right now

Sounds about right to me!

Poor Abjorn. Could have grown up to be a cool viking everyone respects. Instead you married a protagonist who makes you look plain and weak.

That he's the woman in the relationship. That he's a coward, or at least lacks the will to fight. That he's lazy or enjoys sitting too much.

We'll need to do something about that. Dunno exactly what, but something. I mean, as wabbitking notes they don't say it to his face, but we need to arrange something public and terrifying for him to do...

This honestly has less to do with Halla and more his Content and Follower Traits. Like, being married to Halla doesn't help, but it's not the actual problem.

This most recent incident definitely didn't help him I bet. He was trying to do the sensible thing, trying to get us to run away and keeping the family safe. Everyone saw him shouting for us to go run with him, which is definitely the thing that traditionally the wife would do in such a story.

Then we turned around and killed a god.

Ok, now tell us how many people are dumb enough to say that to his face.
Not many

Ironically, this may not help as much as you think, at least as long as it doesn't get out that his wife had to set it up for him

Nah. Literally everyone ran there...nobody is gonna blame Abjorn for doing the same. It's more that he gets significantly less spotlight time than Halla...the Odr will probably help, there.

I was more just thinking of encouraging him and/or making him a champion in a future fight...stuff that gives him an opportunity, not an actual setup.

Say that to Abjorn's face. Fast way to get your back broken by the bearbreaker.

Yeah, Abjorn would straight-up kill a dude for saying that, what with the Wrathful and Bloodthirsty and the entirety of Norse culture. So people clearly aren't saying it to his face, which makes killing those rumors a bit trickier. Well, until someone does say it to his face, anyway...the results would probably quiet that down a bit.

Look, I mean, I get it. He's our husband. We should care about him and make sure he's got a good reputation.

But it's hard to put much care into it. He's second fiddle to Halla and that's gonna be the case no matter what. Even if Odr helps him power up it'll be another thing we gifted him and put specific effort into helping so he could do it. No matter what we do for him it won't really change things from others PoV. They'll just say it more quietly, and have more things to laugh about it.

He's great at helping with the kids and tending the farm and we don't need much more than that.

I think this does Abjorn a rather profound disservice. The one time we sparred with him semi-seriously he pretty unambiguously won, and while we've probably advanced more than he has since then and can beat him now, I think he's probably still significantly scarier than anyone else of our generation who'd back us in a fight with no questions asked except Sten, and I bet he could still win if he managed to get his hands on us.

Is he less badass than Halla? Probably. Does that mean he is anything other than utterly terrifying? No, it does not. Abjorn is a scary guy and should get the respect he deserves for that. Any accusations he's weak or anything like that are straight up sexist bullshit with no basis in reality and he should not have to deal with them.

Sure, he's great with the kids and the farm, but those are far from his only capabilities and treating him as less than he is comes off as really unpleasant, honestly.
