We need a good sailing training item if we are gonna go the Sigurdr world traveler route. Get that kid up to 7 sailing before he's 16, and watch him go circles around every other sailor.

The hamingja roll is... not the worst? Well it could be better, definitely. Very meh rolls all around.

EDIT: Uh, which hamingja roll is being used?
 
Okay, well, the Silver Tongue roll nets a whole 1 success. At least it's not a failure. Barring Odr use, anyway.

For Hamingja rolls, I think both are actually 16 successes?

I believe we rolled identical numbers so it doesn't matter.

Yeah, I tried to post that pre-roll, but it didn't quite happen. We'd probably burn 5 on that if possible, which would get it to higher than 6 successes, since we've got some bonuses that likely apply (that'd get us to 8 successes).

Huh, since when was silver tongue 3 dice instead of one? Been a while since I've checked in, so I'm pretty rusty on how some mechanics work.
 
Actually, wait. That Silver-Tongue roll is only 16 dice. It should be 18. @alexthealright you should roll 2 more dice.

I'm not sure what you mean? Silver Tongue was only one roll, there was also a Hamingja one and two of us accidentally both rolled it.

Sometimes luck is just not with you. The others were just a little low, though, while this one is ridiculously so.

The extra dice got the Silver-Tongue roll to 2 whole successes. Plus any bonus successes, plus, like, 5 more if we spend Odr, which we likely would.

btw, is it theoretically possible for Halla, with perfected EWC, to just traverse the seas by flying over them? obviously she will have to stop for the night at some point, and probably make it to land once in a while to rest during the day, but is it possible?

In theory I think it would work but I'm somewhat worried about sea monsters and the difficulty of moving cargo.
 
I did not say we should sell our ship and just fly over the seas. though its good to have the possibility if we need to, say, travel urgently during the winter. or are stranded. its good to have, but ships are still better
