I don't think there's any way we would ever vote to end Halla's story now. While the book is neat it's not nearly a definitive end. While I'd be fine with this being as far as we push our Odr stuff (besides teaching Abjorn to read) for a bit, we have too many temporal non-Enemy related concerns and things to do. Our fathers ashes, our tournament, raising our kids well, having the other... 3? We can still have. Finding wives for our men (if they want them) Reuniting with Aki. The stuff with the Jarl and Headsman (though most seem to want to stay out of that). The war...

Way too many plot threads to leave dangling.

Well now, can't stop here.

[X] Continue on and risk defeat

Push ever onwards, bring Light to the darkest ignorance, burn away He Who Stagnates, for We Are The Flame!

Because there's really no way you folks would want to end the quest now, I'll go ahead and call the vote in 30 minutes

This does inspire the question, of the kids we have so far, which would you guys want to be the next to gain the protagonist ghost gene? And why?

I'll admit that Eyvor gets some points because of Bjorney in this update. Eyvor and Bjorney can take an Odr journey together, as we make a frenzy-bear-odr-cultivator brother.

Before that the full moon twins seemed interesting, just because weird full moon eyes ooh.

The current idea is either Sigurdr or one of the twins

"I don't know what a watermelon is," you're forced to admit as you rock back and forth on your heels, "but Sten once asked me to help him crack a geode. I didn't have any tools on hand, so I just used my legs."

Silence falls across the training field as three sets of eyes land on you.

"Holy fucking shit," Tryggr breathes, utterly awestruck.
Wow.
I know Halla has super strenght due to cultivation, but wow.

So, lesser win conditions are making that life matter, huh?
And the victory is getting a small edge over the enemy, to stack the deck just a little more against it?

Currently, Sigurdr is in the lead, I think, and the triplets will likely be hanging out together, so Bjorney would definitely be in that version. The other main contender is one of the twins. Eyvor is possible, but may have too much in common with Halla...we want something a tad different, I think.

Timeskip pls

[X] End Halla's Run here, with a victory

Edit: I think I know a way to fix the literacy problem and spread out book.

Offer every teenager in the Hading a Superior suit of mail and weapon(except swords, keep those gifts special) if they can show us that they're literate before their 16th birthday.

Summer 11/Divination Questions
[X] Continue on and risk defeat

-[X] Yule Divination
--[X] Attempt divination to determine who hired people to kill Steinarr
--[X] Contacting Odin
--[X] Draw lots from a bag of 9: Drysalt, Lidrun of the Red Sash, Dorri Rattlespear, Logi Flamehair, Buri Borruson, Erikaer Corpsemaker, Hasvir Horrason, Reinar Swordfury, and someone else. The "someone else" option is labeled "Someone Else"
---[X] Note that we're not publicizing this list and consider most of the names on it very unlikely (everyone but Drysalt and maybe Corpsemamker), we just want to be thorough and nine options seems better symbolically. We probably don't show or tell anyone the results of this unless it's Drysalt.
---[X] Further questions TBD based on results from the initial draw

Yule Divination
In a secluded spot far away from the laughter and festivities of Yule, you find yourself in the company of swaying trees and curious creatures. Squirrels watch with cheeks full of their winter store as you walk under the canopy above. Birds chirp as they fly about overhead, the complex dance of their courtship a sight to behold. Even a noble elk stops to watch as you come to a stop before an old, gnarled oak.

Kneeling down before the wisdom of the Gods, you close your eyes, reach inside the bag at your side, and pull out two sticks.

Drysalt Hadingsbane...

...and Dorri Rattlespear.

As you stare at the names written in runes on the wood of an ash, you struggle to keep yourself contained. Flushing your emotions with a use of your soul's ice, you consider what the names on the sticks mean.

What are your next questions?
