after seeing the average Norseman's Hugareida, Halla's list of like 7 Hugareida seems even more absurd. not even Steinarr has so many, as far as we know

In fairness, non-combat teachable hugareida like Campfire and Clearwater may not be counted on a list like that. So we 'only' have 5 if you don't count Alloys. But yes, we're deeply absurd in that regard. As you say, Steinarr probably only has 4 natively by those standards (Wildfire, Ignition, Sword, and Greenthumb), as the levels are exactly right for his Firestorm to be an Alloy. I'd suspect his Ignition was also an Alloy, but the level is wrong.

Arnfinn Heavystep (i want to know what his deal his, is he unusually powerful or just unusualy big?),

IF answered this one, he's normal size, just in the Middle combat bracket at 13 which is utterly absurd.

Unrelated, but when we return we should dedicate a couple of social actions to Stigmar, Tryggr and Trausti. They are our retainers and i feel like we know too little abaout them. Maybe we could spar with them and get their character sheets?

Group spars have been mentioned as a possibility, though our action economy is honestly pretty tight for the rest of the year. We might be better served talking with them on this trip, where there are a few more opportunities. Along with talking with some of the more interesting new people, of course.

Well, if the kid needs a mentor. I am sure we can offer to take him under our litteral wing. He could be a really powerful ally to have. And i am very curious abaout how he got this powerful this fast.

Good points, we should take advantage of the trip. Maybe we can organize the spars while on the jounrey? I mean, i am sure we can find a few ours to spar with somebody.

after we are done with this adventure, can we spend some time with Eric so he can teach us about sailing and boats? after the terrible rolls before, seems justified to seek help

He probably just started early and maybe had a good teacher. We were likely in the Middle bracket in everything but Orthstirr (or close to it anyway) when we went to the Raid Trials and that was after 4 years of training. If he trained as hard as us and started at, like, the age of 6 he's had almost as many years of training as we have. Nowhere near as many dice at this point, but he might easily have accumulated as many as we had by the age of 16 or 17.

I don't think we can do a full spar on the ship, there's not room, and we only really have spare time while sailing, but we could certainly talk to them.

Honestly, I was thinking we might just ask him while still on the adventure. That makes more sense and we're gonna keep throwing dice at things like the North Know Trick until it works.

The ship is also flammable. And a trick like, say, Leaping Cleave Strike would probably deal damage.

We can do a partial spar at best.

but the socialization with Eric has some value too. we won't get it by asking him on the adventure

we haven't spent a lot of time with him since he came back. and that was right after Horra so I think two years ago? either way, we really are due some sibling time.

Still, trying to become his mentor could be a good idea. Halla has more expirience and many things she can teach.

Just in this chapter, the ship stopped and the crew set up camp. Maybe next time they make camp we can spar.

And even if we spar mid air, it should't be a problem. If somebody falls in the water, we fish him out. I doubt superhuman vikings can't swim well enough to recover somebody who falls in the sea.

Do we know where Erik is on the power scale of the Valley?

Edit: Boat making is a complicated trade so he might have spent all his time doing that instead of what we have been doing.

To be honest he's probably a better general crafter than us and has more boons to facilitate that stuff. Although we are pretty good with a hammer when crafting at home.

Not so sure. He's (obviously) better at boat related stuff, but we are pretty good crafters as well. We are almost certainly better smiths and rune makers, given the level of weapons and runes

Skarde Sharpshooter (One of the better shots in the Valley)
Snorri Deepsleeper (Sleep Hugareida, a little lazy)

-[ ] The one who tries to sleep all the time
-[ ] The one who keeps making arrows
-[ ] The one with the sack of coins and many knives

Tried matching up the last 3 unknown members of Folkmarr's Felag with the people we knew.

Snorri Deepsleeper is too weak to have passed the raid trials though (Lower Middle), but he's also the only notable sleeping person. Especially 4 years ago. Skarde's the only archer who isn't outright new.

The person with the bag of cash and knives is totally unknown though. Hard to match him.

Alright, I'll call voting in an hour and a half.

I also have some bad news. The ADHD medicine shortage has finally struck me as I just took my last pill today, meaning that it will be a few days before I can get more medicine. I've got some back-ups that should keep me going for a little while and may even be enough to weather the storm, but there's only one way to find out.

Is sparring already betraying the Kyrsvikingrs secrets?

Per IF? Yes. We explicitly get less Training Dice from sparring with him because he can't use his whole kit.

We're definitely a better smith due to Born With A Hammer In Hand. Our Weaponcraft and Armorcraft are also likely better. Our Housecraft and Design are probably lower (much lower in the case of Design), since those are the boat and ship building skills, and Artcraft could go either way, though I'd guess we're even-ish. Our Tools probably make up the difference in practice, but that's irrelevant to whether he can teach us things.

I mean, if fighting anybody its enough to betray secrets. Then the members of the warband would never fight at all.

One fight wouldn't do it, but repeated ones would, so he's not allowed to use secret techniques sparring with outsiders.

Oh dear. I hope things turn out alright. Good luck.

Man that's the worst, I'm sorry to hear that. Damned artificial shortages.
