Cute votes

Uh, sorry to have you answer again, but I more so meant why Blackhand was looking to make it to begin with, not the pieces used to create it. Although that's certainly useful info.

It seems likely that Gram was repurposed later down the line into the Weapon.
That, or Gram was a prototype of the Weapon by design?

'Well, Gram is a part of our family's history. Why wouldn't I want to re-forge it?'
OOC Translation:

Blackhand doesn't really remember and is trying to fill in the gaps in his memory with basic understanding of his own lineage. Not that it's an unreasonable hypothesis.

Influence is fine, but my problem was specifically using magical influence or something to ensure influence. Ultimately like you said, it's impossible to not be influenced by the people around you, especially those closest to you.
For a human being, magic is not inherently involved in the process of being created and raised (well, not much, if we're talking about the Norse in this quest).

For a Realized piece of equipment, magic is very much part of the upbringing process, to the point where the equipment wouldn't even exist as a person without a lot of magic going into their creation. As such, shaping that magic is the normal way to ensure they're "raised right."

I mean honestly, I'm more inclined to say Searchingbird seems like the best middle ground between utility and flaws? Being able to dictate what it goes hunting for lets us find stuff even Blackhand can't help us with due to his memory issues, and the flaw is both resistable, and fairly impactful.

Sure, it's not an immediate passive combat buff, but in terms of finding stuff useful for improving Halla's soulscape, finding important shit like monsters we need to hunt or quest-items like the fragments of the weapon that can break steel, finding lore, finding useful shit from other cultivation systems...

Get, like, a -3 successes to all your stuff. As for work arounds, they are possible, but a big hat won't keep you safe from the twilight sun. Also big hats with wide brims aren't really a thing during this time period, as far as I can recall

Odin is commonly depicted as wearing a broad brimmed hat in his guise as a traveller.

Not sure if this is an embellishment or interpretation of a more ambiguous clothing description by 19th century writers (there was a period where German writers epecially got really into Odin as part of the nationalist project of rediscovering "Germanic" myth, see also Der Ring des Nibelungen) or actually comes from primary sources. Looking at discussion online, it seems plausible that Viking era Scandinavians would have had broad hats, although they would be along the lines of big droopy felted caps or straw hats, not something exactly like a modern fedora.

However, this depiction was influential enough that it made it into J.R.R. Tolkien's decision to depict Gandalf as wearing a broad brimmed hat. The "Grey Wanderer" draws a huge amount of inspiration from Odin in his "Wander" guise, who also carries a staff and has kennings including "Greybeard" and "Bearer of the Wand". Which means by a strange kind of cultural and artistic alchemy, the reason that most wizards in fiction today wear broad-brimmed hats and carry staves can be traced back to Odin the Wanderer.

Cindersoot Owl's crafting aspect allows you to craft two things for one slot"
We cant fix some of the AP hell were in with this

So, what's the benefit in waiting for pushing it to evolve in rank 8? Would our options be stronger? or would we just get to reroll our options?
If you make an attempt to alter how you are, then you'll get new options. If you keep going, same as you are now, you'll get the same options again
Also, I'm 100% certain I've described someone or multiple someones with a big hat before

Alter how we are in what way? Personality, power, achievements, knowledge, something else?
Personality and the things you focus on and value.
Like would doing the trading run change something? What about reaching realm 2 for cultivation or completing one of our incomplete boons?
It may very well change things! Though not entirely likely on the realm 2 front
Yeah, this. @Imperial Fister did this improve our farm plots from Decent? It sounds like it did but the entry is unchanged.
It improved to Good, but not a noticeable enough change for it to be more than that. Adding more sunlight from your spell won't help, by the way

and fixed.

I'll call the vote in 10 minutes, so I can return to writing and include the cosmetic changes in it
