Shit guys, I just had a brainstorm.

The Pelt from the Big Boi

Isn't that, well, the ideal material to use? To make leather out of it for the cover of BOOK? It's an invincible hide from a powerful monster, brought low by our hands to shine knowledge even when he sought to sow confusion and terror.

That's like, the perfect material to integrate into it, to conceal it from the Enemy's gaze, and protect it from incidental damage. The resonance is far better even than the Shadow Bear stuff.

Is the Pelt only good for one crafting project? Or can we squeeze in a book cover as a bonus?

I'm gonna say it's good for one magical project, though you can certainly add stuff as cosmetic and bling

Say, did we ever try to put fertilizer on the soul fields? I don't remember.

Also, would putting a scarecrow help things? *glances at wired Chinese killer scarecrow* I'm not really sure if that's a thing Norse farmer did in this time period

That's... Part of farming, isn't it?

Is it? maybe outside farming but soul farming? Where we need to bring everything from outside, I don't think we just automatically covered the fields in fertilizer.

I believe we stated we tried all the normal stuff. Now we're having to resort to weirdness. Hopefully we can get better plants or fertilizer on our trip and use those.

Yeah, if we can crank this up even to Fine, I'll be satisfied. Superior is just bonus.

On that note, How many Reward Dice would be needed to get an answer as "Is it better to do Disclosure while still in Realm 1 or would it be okay if we were Realm 2?" @Imperial Fister ?

Should we try sedir then? I wouldn't be surprised if there are spell's that help with soil fertility or something.

Or maybe get some farming tricks that help or get the ones we have further mastery

Varies tremendously across time periods and farming systems, right down to individual regions. Using seaweed as a natural fertiliser is pretty common for farmers living near the sea for example; there's a tradition of it going back in Cornwall for centuries or quite possibly millennia. Manure is of course an old favourite, but one thing to keep in mind is that any animal making manure has to be kept alive during winter by eating hay. (Especially in Scandinavia and Iceland.) It was never available in the same quantities as modern fertilisers.

Probably you would see manure used as a fertiliser where available, with a priority given to the more intensively managed parts of the farm, particularly vegetable patches. Fields used for cereal and arables might get some dung when available, but the main form of nitrogen regeneration would be periodic resting from cultivation. They might have animals grazed on them during fallow years, whose dung would also help regenerate the soil bit.

So as far as this goes, I wouldn't assume we've fertilised the fields heavily, although it's possible we have. Easiest way would be to ask @Imperial Fister of course.

...Although if Halla did steal a hundredweight of cow poop from the farm to disappear into her soul, that would be quite an interesting conversation about why it went missing and what she did with it. 🤣

We might need some magical cows for some magic manure for soul farming.
Ireland is pretty...vulnerable...this time of year.

Edit: Never mind, missed that vote closed.
