IT LIVES!!! I've been following this story for ages, and this update makes me so happy!!

It was written in Octarine, so you may have to squint a bit, and maybe twist a little, turnwise.

Trakata is an in-universe fighting style that exploits the on-off function of lightsabers, iirc.

In the movies sure, it seems obvious, but in the Expanded Universe (which a lot of fans enjoy) Jedi and Sith make use of casual precognition. Utilizing the feint mechanically to place yourself in a better position isn't an 'instant win' button, but it can be useful. And it would probably trip up someone less experienced or in tune with the force.

And in a way a lot of what goes on in light saber duels is narrative function meets elegant form. It's a philosophical battle too.

The hard part of tricking someone who can see the future is, unsurprisingly, that they can see the future. The trick itself is an after-thought.

Fights between Sith and Jedi from what I remember worked on several levels:
- The actual physical battle between the involved parties
- Usage of the Force in the battle from subtle tricks to just raw crushing presence to trip up the opponent
- Making use of the Future Visions to manoeuvre one's self into a winning position while manipulating the opponent to mess up their...winning combo (I guess?)

It's basically a REALLY high-speed lethal chess game where the name of the game to is set up a sequence that inevitably leads to victory for your side (sometimes dying actually leads to a greater victory, but only the really powerful Jedi / Sith would see that in the middle of battle), it explains why the duels seem to end so abruptly all the damned time or are so overwhelmingly in one side's favour.

Alas, not an update.

It wasn't necromancy (only two weeks since the last post), but given the two months since Dr. Snark's last update, I very briefly got my hopes up.

You and me both. I've held back on omakes for more or less the same reason.

Snark needs to return ASAP.
There is only so often I can reread the entire quest before it gets boring.

Any chance I could pick up Gray Paladin? Maybe step into a "Director" role while you take "Show-runner", handling tone and overall style?

Or maybe (horrors!) It could be time for me to draw up my own quest.

Is there anyone out there willing to wrangle up all PR-1/Priam related canon omakes? I need them for...analytic purposes.
