Sell one thing to a rich person for $1,000,000 profit; or sell a million to poor people for $1 profit. Same profit either way. The trick is managing to do both.
Yeah, it can be difficult to sell things for millions to people who don't have thousands. My suggestion is to run an ambulance service or the fire brigade. Generally people are in no position to say no to your outlandish prices.

a drug that lets him go without sleep in exchange for losing any morality and joy in life
The wiki page says that those negative side effects are just propaganda. One guy got on the drug specifically to "suffer" from those side effects but failed.

@Publicola, we need to get on that drug ASAP so that we can get another action. Also we need to steal all that guy's stuff. We have shapeshifters so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Hmm. It's implied, certainly, but given a sample set of two named addicts (Bohhuah Mutdah and Lob Doluff), neither one seems to be at all happy with their lot in life. Lob Doluff might have "wished so dearly that it did remove feelings so he didn't have to think about things that tugged at his heartstrings," but that strikes me as precisely the sort of emotionally-empty statement that you'd associate with a lesai addict. (If anyone's familiar with the source material -- Lando Calrissian and the Flamewinds of Oseon -- let me know if that's the case).

Assuming it doesn't come with horrible side-effects, I'd be up for it, though I'd really prefer our own researchers figure out a way to synthesize it without requiring gross purple lizard-skin mold, and without the addictive component either. (So, spend two actions total -- one to find/gather it, one to research/produce it -- in order to gain that +1 Personal Action). It'd be up to @Dr. Snark, though.

Fair enough -- a Force-sensitive shapeshifting 20,000-plus-year-old Croke was responsible for killing Mutdah in the source, and we have Gurlanin agents on our side. On the other hand... we have a lot of credits, so I'm not sure we need to spend actions to earn more, no matter how big the reward. Plus, I like the idea of keeping Mutdah as-is, so we have something to compare ourselves to. (He is hundreds of years old, and dedicates 24 hours per day to expanding his wealth; yet in less than a decade, starting with practically nothing, we've nearly caught up to him...).

It's not just credits, though. I mean, think about it - how does he make those credits? Mercenaries? Banking? Shipping? Construction? Entertainment? Mining? Agriculture? Blackmail? Spice? All of the above and more? Getting his stuff means not only getting ALL THE MONEY (again), but also all the things that make him ALL THE MONEY. Besides that, if we were to gain his assets, we would be so wealthy and so powerful that our very life becomes a dead man's switch. If Palpatine kills us, his galaxy's economy would be fucked.

Best way to become the richest around is to sell things to those who're already at the top.
Nope. The best way to become the richest around is to sell something that almost literally EVERYONE wants at a price where it's nearly affordable to everyone. Imagine if you had invented the fork in modern times. Simple, cheap, and everyone in America wants multiple ones. Three hundred million people alone there wants it, and you can sell it in enduring steel or disposable plastics. You wouldn't be the richest man around selling something that cheaply, but by god you'd have it made.

Except essential products are already out there, in many different brands, you can't really trademark forks. Most of the products that make fortunes now-a-days are actually neither essential nor extreme luxuries, they sell to the middle class.

Drug is one avenue, but it's as name points, a drug. Not something that works naturally with the body. I can see two, potentially better alternatives:

- Bith as a species does not sleep at all - all that they need is 4 hours of meditation, where they still are aware of their surroundings. And that is for non-force sensitive. Genemod that ability.
- Learn force technique for the same purpose. Ciaran's lore is at 46, way up there, on tier of masters of the force. There are canon techniques that allows for restful, but still aware sleep - and Sidious purportedly did not sleep at all. Technique that allows Ciaran to skip need for sleep, or reduce it to fraction, should be within her reach. Potentially it could be developed as extension of Matukai self-reinforcement. Or extension of self-healing abilities.

Do You think those are feasible?

Ciaran has already been genemodded, so that's out.

This, on the other hand, might work if we can find someone to teach us.

I wonder about it. I found this quest rather late, so I'm not familiar with all rules - but why is it possible to have only one genemod? Ciaran's organization have access to some best genetic research in galaxy, close to unlimited resources and vested interest in improving everyone in inner circle. Since so many species are fully compatible on genetic level, further addition to compatible genome should not be that hard.

Either learn or develop it herself. Ciarant can already self-reinforce herself to insane degree, and can be considered master of the force. Pushing that reinforcement in slightly different direction does not seem as much of a stretch.

Thats a bad example. If you invented the fork in modern times you'd be about as rich as the guy who invented the Spork, and a lot of people would be wondering what was wrong with chopsticks.

Did Thyferra ever bother to patent bacta?

No. No they didn't. And according to the Bacta Wars, it can indeed be grown offworld. So all we have to do is smuggle a few brewers off the planet, and usurp Xucphra and Zaltin's position as the biggest producer in the galaxy. And the brewers would be happy, since literally their favorite thing to do is make Bacta.

Hahahahahaha. Mwahahaha. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

We shall patent the bacta, and then license produce to every world in the Galaxy! Let thsm try to disrupt our cash flow then!

Plus with the Selkath in the CNS we have Kolto as well. It's not as good as Bacta and most certainly is limited to just one planet. However, it is still an alternative.

Of course he is. It's called "tea".

And to warn you. I got some here, right now and am filled with dumb ideas right now. Maybe. Not related to this quest though or any of the ones I abandoned. Nor will I do anything anytime soon, BUT I do have tea. And ideas. And tea.

*Pulls out the Bounty Hunters Handbook* Kolto is ALSO superior to Bacta for firstaid treating burns.

Hell, we can justify our theft of the bacta secrets (tm) by doing a public expose on the corps on thyferra.

Karada Corporation: we could not allow such misery to continue, etc. etc.

Does that lore come from a Star Wars tabletop game? Because it's literally a racial feat for elves, right down to the length of time.
It came from starwars wikia, 'sleep' entry.
The Bith race of Clak'dor VII also did not sleep. Instead, they would enter a trance, during which they were almost as aware of their surrounding as awake while receiving the same amount of rest as sleeping species do when asleep.
And 'Bith' entry:
Bith had even evolved past the need for sleep. Instead, they would slip into a light meditative trance, which allowed them to get as much rest in four hours as other species could get in eight. During this trance, Bith were still almost fully aware of their surroundings

Happily, we just finished researching 'Non-Human Genemods' this turn. @Dr. Snark, would this be an acceptable option?

I expect this was done to 'throttle' the otherwise runaway stat growth for our characters. Otherwise we could just dump our 'Beneath The Knife' genemod each turn on the same character (presumably Ciaran) to make her absurdly awesome. That's especially the case if we were using Force-based genemods like Voss -- way too powerful.

In-universe, I imagine there are some serious scientific obstacles to string together not two but three compatible genemods in a single individual (base species + two genemods). Sci-fi science is always impenetrable, but I could easily see it being exponentially more difficult to tailor everything to work together.

On the other hand, we do have Arkanian mad scientists, so it certainly seems plausible enough that they're try to push the limits of what's possible (and/or ethical). @Dr. Snark, could we write-in a Learning action for next turn to unlock a second genemod for our Hero characters (up to 2 apiece, no more)?
