Soresu Adept, heh, turns out all we needed to advance our lightsaber skills all along was to fight a mad, empowered Sith to the death!

...Starting to think we should take up some less dangerous hobbies.

For comparison sake, Jango's current trait:
Brothers In Arms - The Cuy'val Dar: Jango once hired on some of the best mercenaries he could find to help train the GAR's clone commandos. While their numbers have slightly dwindled due to various factors, Jango has reunited them as an elite unit under his command, giving him considerable flexibility both on and off the battlefield. +4 Martial, +4 Intrigue

Also Maul is 100% confirmed dead this time? I am assuming that was Obi-Wan who gave a mercy kill to him? And yeah you could feel the madness overtaking him. Also a Mandolarian Jedi, my how the times are changing.

Yeah well, sitting around playing with our saber by ourselves wasn't ever going to do much good.

Seems unlikely, since he would've recognized Obi-Wan with how fixated he was on him. My guess would be that sometime during the fight he got away from Obi-Wan and Siri after being badly wounded, and it was someone else - someone Maul was at least somewhat familiar with, but didn't consider an enemy - who stumbled over and killed him. The likeliest possibilities I can think of would be Ciaran (though I don't recall whether she and Maul ever actually met), or Asajj (she and Maul definitely conversed, but IIRC not a lot, and I don't recall her being mentioned in the arc).

I'd say Asajj:
"...No matter how strong you were...there would have been no escape from the pain."
This line references her first conversation with Vectivus, about the fear of pain and seeking power to escape it.
Out of nowhere a stream of red bolts slammed into the frigate's hull, followed by a pair of missiles that impacted it dead center, tearing the ship apart before it could get any closer. As Thrawn tried to process what had just happened, he barely managed to catch the sight of a Headhunter with a distinct red and dark grey paint job blast by as it started to open fire on a pair of Sabaoth fighters that had the misfortune of being in the way.
And that's probably her fighter.

oh dear, Sidious is preparing to push his own button.

Now, now, Sidious will wait for his own opportunity. He can't just immediately declare Order 66, no there has to be some requisites:

1) The Jedi have to be spread out across the Galaxy in order to isolate them. Not to mention he needs to able to secure the Temple smoothly before anyone gets the idea to destroy the secret Sith artefacts hidden within.
2) He needs to kill Dooku, as he represents a loose end and someone who would reveal his identity the moment he realises that Sidious is going to break his promise. Also moving into point three...
3) Anakin needs to have turned or be in his pocket. Since he needs his prize apprentice before he does something stupid like leave the Jedi Order.
4) He needs a flashpoint he can use as his reason. Sidious got really lucky that Windu tried to arrest him, instead of say calling the Council back or scattering everything.

Not only that, he also has to deal with the CNS, instauring the empire as things are now will create a titanic organized rebellion in the Rims supported by the CIS remmnats. And even someone as arrogant as Palpatine can see the he cannot allow that to happen.

Not so much force abilities, but properly forged Bes´kar is basically indestructible and lightsabers cannot even scratch Bes´kar armor.
Specifically, Bes'kar is a metal alloy that heat up homogeneously, very slowly and has a very high melting point. As a result, lightsabers cannot melt them like they usually do with other material. Likewise, it take an enormous amount of blaster fire to bring down a real suit of Mandalorian Terminator armor. As a side note, mandalorians tend to die from being cooked in their own suit since breaching them to get at the fragile flesh beneath is all but impossible.

Are their visors also metal, because that would seem like the natural place to hit them be it with a blaster or a lightsaber?

Well, there obviously are some weak spots in the armor. At least the joints can't be Bes'kar, since those must be flexible, right? In canon, Jango was decapicated by Windu, who was using a lightsaber, while wearing his armor.

You are right... the armor would not seem to be terribly useful if the Jedi (or Sith) knows what s/he's doing. It could be possible to cut off limbs as well as decapitate.

Jango did not have Bes'kar armor because it is so rare

That still leaves the visor. You can apparently break it with the force of an admittedly enraged human

I have to remember that the Mandalorian is not a sitting duck wearing armor, they have been the most feared warriors in the galaxy for Millennia, a regular Mandalorian is still one of the best soldiers in the galaxy, and the armor gives them a crucial advantage against Jedi and Sith, it is not exactly easy to aim for the joint when the Mando is shooting at you or using the jetpack to keep his distance from the lightsaber.

And those are the regular ones, the Old Guard like Jango or Kal can literally kill full trained Jedi Knights with their bare hands.
