To my knowledge, that is the understanding the rank and file have. I still want to make a rock band by that name.

Well, I got two or three thoughts on that which might be worth considering:

1) The stakes are really high. We're talking, fate of the galaxy high. Losing means a lot of suck for a lot of people.

2) We're playing against an enemy with a lot of power both personal and political / organizational, so we need every advantage we can get.

3) Resource economy: We spent a ship-based Stewardship action to gain a default bonus to Diplomacy. Spending an action to gain a hero-who-can-apply-his-bonuses (presumably) is a pretty great value for the action and will enable us to have the heroes available to get poor Fry his closure.

I know that, I was just commenting that it's just a silly thing to say. If we didn't have so many bonuses 75% would be completely acceptable. In-fact, getting it from 40% to 75% without any special dedication is insane.

Understood, acknowledged, and agreed. It's pretty nuts. The whole thing is pretty nuts.

Anything below 100% success is low. Just ask my poor CK2 orphan who had to go through 15 years of regency because his daddy just had to have boar for his feast.

At least his mother and regent was both competent and loyal.

crazy jedi got wacked from inside security, Thrawn contacted by Abyss agents in passing.
thats the lazy explanation. It's shown in the old thread.

Further on this: Abyss agents jumped ship almost immediately afterwards and the Outbound Flight group went around Chiss Space. We don't know in what direction (North or South) or anything else afterwards. A nasty thought is that they could have been Mnggal-Mnggaled.

I can see the Outbound Flight group return being a potential sequel hook after Palpy kicks the bucket. We practically derailed all of canon once the Sith Lord is gone.

Hell, the only serious opposition after the Empire fell was Thrawn and the Vong from Legends and whoever Snoke is in Disney canon (given how he went down, he really isn't a threat to a surviving Jedi society that is better equipped). The Thrawn trilogy is absolutely impossible to occur now and even if the Vong don't show up, it is a breeding ground for... who knows. Maybe a crossover villain or an original character? There is very few dangerous antagonists who are not two-bit short-thinking thugs.

Without Palpatine, there really isn't much serious conflict unless the Republic falls apart. And without conflict, you can't really have a story (or quest) if there are not any serious stakes. It might be fine with other series that don't involve serious fighting, but this is Star Wars. The title alone gives a good summary of the content expected in the series by the viewers.

Well, if I remember correctly, the was a Jedi on the outbound flight... Who wanted to breed an army of Jedi, because he was a "Jedi supremest" who thought only the Jedi could get things done. So, if he's still around, he might come back and try to kick our asses if he finds out about the Abyss Watchers.

wernt the jedi not aloud to have kids though? kinda hypocritical of him

He despised the idea of a Clone Army, or, really, any kind of army that wasn't comprised of solely Jedi. Plus, he was planning on, basically, breaking away from the Jedi Order so when whatever danger he foresaw(Palpy and the Galactic Empire) came to being, there'd be a small army of Jedi to fight the darkness if. He also found a way to figure out what people had the most potential to produce a force sensitive child even if they were not force sensitive themselves.

Er...they're allowed to get laid and have children.

What they aren't allowed is doing it for love.

.....One of the fan theories about how Obi Wan knows his way around Mos Esley in The New Hope is that, when he was younger, he regularly visited the red light district.
Could Anakin have gotten away with the whole Padme thing if he just swore up and down they where just friends with benefits?

As regards future threats I reckon that plenty of Ciaran's current allies could be a problem or convinced to be so.

There's more people than we'd like who are aware that Ciaran is shady and has more power and control than she should have.

I can see Satine being the core of a legal and political opposition to Ciaran's goals she wouldn't want to just kill.

There's still a huge Human Supremacy problem in the Core world's.

And honestly, we've recruited a few heroes recently, they're not going to be on board with Ciaran becoming a Shadow Empress over the galaxy and they're too intelligent to keep in the dark long term.

If the Jedi survive then the Sentinels are aware of enough to know that there's a big bad organisation out there, after the Clone Wars are over you bet that they will be investigating.

Ciaran has had to play a lot of cards to oppose Palpatine and will have to sacrifice more to beat him, she's going to be very exposed.

Yep.

That's why Obi Wan keeps their marriage a secret, but if you look closely, you'll notice that he's either going 'meh' or 'I'm secretly hyped about this'.

Then...you know, Padme dies giving birth and he's all like 'bugger, what the hell am I supposed to do with two quite possibly force sensitive children when the Order is destroyed?'

That's why he passed the Skywalker twins to different people.

He tried his best to obey the 'no personal attachment' rule.

Ah...yeah, there was that whole 'Anakin was supposed to be her bodyguard' thing as well....

That...might have gotten him a bit of trouble for something like...'unprofessional conduct', whathaveyou.
