(It actually is ripped straight off James Bond. Google "Bond villain chair" and it's like the third image)I know its a Star wars design, but I can't help but feel that that chair would be terrible for sitting in for anything but lounging back. Like, it'd ruin her lower back sitting up for working at a desk or something.

Not in that case. Ciaran is evil, but subtle about it, meaning her clothes must be in a soft material, and preferably cloak-y, because she hides herself in something soft (ie: "Lady Ciaran the kind philantrope"). However, her dress is actually full of spikes (said long and thin parts), which have bells, as in "warning bells". Also, they are kind of like tendrils, because influence. (I could add some web looking patterns to her dress for the spider motif too, but it'd probably be too much)
