Incidentally, @Dr. Snark, do we have a list of what 'Near-Human' species are available for genemodding, and what benefits they'd give us? After our injury, we looked at Chiss (super-smarts) and Zelosian ('weird' plant-based biology) before deciding on Zeltron (empathy for Diplomacy/Intrigue bonus). However, according to Wookiepedia, there are a number of other Near-Human races, including the Pau'un of Utapau, Hapans, Sallustans, Zabrak, or for that matter our own Miralukan race. There's also this exhaustive (and exhausting) list.

Also, will we be allowed to research/develop genemods for species that are humanoid but not 'Near Human' (like Twileks or Muun) or aren't humanoid at all (Bith, Wookie, literally everything else)?

Finally: are genemods 'stackable'? Can we mod ourselves or another of our 'Heroes' with genes from multiple species, or we limited to a single genemod per person?

First: Not yet, mainly because I need to figure out which races would actually provide benefits and have interesting bonuses. There will be a more comprehensive list by the time the next turn hits (and having that link will definitely help).

Second: Yes, and it will take less time than regular mods.

Third: You're only limited to one per person because of science-y reasons...and in more practical terms you people would probably use that to stat up everyone to absurd levels.

I'm not a great fan of Sienar Fleet Systems' products. And I am suspicious of the way this option has popped up... I kinda wonder if this isn't some scheme of Palpatine to get a new covert ops ship and get Ciaran to pay for the development costs...

Still... If we are buying starfighters from them, though something like the TIE Phantom or TIE Defender would be pretty sweet, both of those ships are something like 30 years in the future. We might be more reasonable to aim for something like the Z-95 or Y-Wing, both of which are cutting edge tech during the Clone Wars (and are my two favorite ships in the X-Wing miniature game, so as you might guess, I could say plenty of good things about why these ships are good even for the Rebellion era).

But do we need or want starfighters? Particularly since MandalMotors is based right on Mandalore and they have proven ability to make good starfighters (like this or this). Sienar has already designed and built this stealth corvette - a larger ship like that could offer interesting capabilities.

Stealthed "humanitarian aid delivery craft" anyone?

fasquardon

True their main line isn't that interesting, but Raith Sienar is. He doesn't particularly like running the main part of his family's business (he only does so because that's where the steady income is), instead preferring to build custom craft for the galaxy's wealthy elite. Guess what we are.

Let the rest of us know if you need/want help brainstorming.

Good to know. Depending on how useful the current list turns out, we may not need it, but it might still be useful. 'Muun' especially, as the species is apparently known for their business acumen (and we need more Stewardship bonues).

...yeah, that's fair. :lol

In other news: I just noticed something in our 'force disposition' list on the first page:

10 basic combat droid squads (Tier 1) + 2 per turn, cap 10
8 Kaleesh Warrior groups (Tier 2) + 2-3 per turn, cap 8

@Dr. Snark, would it be possible to write up (or let us write-in) a base upgrade that would increase the cap of our Kaleesh Warriors and/or combat droids? I'd prefer to not waste money on recruiting/building more when we have nowhere to keep them.

You really don't have to ask me if you have permission to do a write-in. Just do the thing and I'll stat it out if you want.

I've never played any Resident Evil games... with the exception of the spin off Operation Raccoon City. Admittedly while it wasn't the best game, I did enjoy being the bad guy.

*is unfamiliar with Resident Evil*

In my case, I only know of Wesker because he appeared in a Disgaea quest (the one by SlyOverlord).

For those not in the know, Nemesis is....

A worrisome foe. In essence, Umbrella took a Tyrant (Their latest/greatest Bio-Organic Weapon, or BOW), and made it goddamn smarter then it was before.

Not saying much, admittedly, given a Tyrant could be outwitted by a kitten, but I digress.

This created the Nemesis, a massive foe who was damn strong, persistent as fuck, and actually intelligent enough to follow orders. Naturally, the Umbrella Corp, in yet another stunningly "clever" idea, felt the best use for the multimillion dollar bioweapon was hunting down some cops in a city that was due for being nuked.

Okay. I haven't yet decided if it'd be better to build a Barracks, or some sort of Arms Depot (so that fully trained Kalee Warriors can be fully equipped and outfitted for war at the drop of a hat, but can spend their day-to-day lives in other pursuits, like a militia), or even a Spaceport (so Kalee Warriors can train and gain experience as pilots, and no longer take up space on the ground).

Likewise, for droids, I'm not sure if it'd be better to build droid 'storage facilities' at our different bases (to keep our battle droids out of the way while we aren't using them) or if we might consider building a vehicle factory on Lordran for the 'Multi-Troop Transports' that the Trade Federation used in the Battle of Naboo.

Or there may be some other option I haven't even considered. Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions?

Final question: I was reading a Star Wars story over on Spacebattles (Kyle Katarn ISOTed to the Clone Wars, fun times), and I came across this comment:

The Corellian, or Green, Jedi are a semi-separate Jedi tradition that is focused on the Jedi of the Corellian system. These Jedi were allowed to marry, had a promotion tradition involving commemorative coins, often worked closely with local law enforcement, and rarely left the system. They often wore emerald robes with a consistency similar to silk rather than the itchy uncomfortable robes of the primary order.

The Halcyons were one such family of Jedi, of whom Corran Horn is a descendent within the New Jedi Order. The Halcyons were rather famous for utterly sucking at anything resembling telekinesis, but made up for it with a talent for illusions and energy conversion (which Corran could use to fuel minor telekinetic tricks).
...Do we have any plans for dealing with (cough assimilating) the Corelllian Jedi into our grey-ish Force order?

We will add your intellectual and Force distinctiveness to our own.

"-... and we will make Ciaran pay for it!"
Excuse me while I resist the urge to send Sheev a blond poorly made Toupee.

Edit sorry if this has been asked before but has it been confirmed whether or not Cheriss Sair has any connection with the Iron Knights?
Iron Knights A force-tradition consisting of sentient, force-sensitive crystals known as Shards which use droids as hosts to be able to move and act properly. Originaly taught by a Jedi Master who was later excommunicated by the Jedi council, due to their belief that the Shards can't understand the force and should not be able to use it, and went into hiding with the Iron Knights.
Cause That would mean we would have three members with ties to otheer force using Organisations, which could prove very useful indeed.

As far as our own Force order goes: I keep imagining it as being a dual natured philosophy based around the cycle of Dark and Light. In its own parliance: Flame and Shadow. "No Flame, no matter how great it burns, can hide the shadows it casts." Conversely, "No Shadow, no matter how drowning its depths, can stop the smallest glimmer from shining brighter in it." Flame would be the 'Light' path of its teachings, with the Grandmaster of the order being the Flamekeeper (Ciaran). The Shadow would thus be the Shadowkeeper. And I imagine Asaji eventually becoming the Shadowkeeper and wearing Yuria's Armor set from Dark Souls 3.

I didn't think we we had an order of our own. We have agents sure but they're just that ... agents. They are not philosophers, peace keepers, or even power hungry sadists. (They better not be.) They are mercenaries. They have no time to be navel gazing. They have work to do! Or they should ... hey guys! Stop slacking off!

Eh force orders tend to sprout their own philosophies by themselves. We probably do have the bare bones of one at least and it's probably based on what ever the Blazing Chain thinks of the force giving the fact our main instructor is an ex-member.

I had a half formed idea for an omake that would basically be about Ventriss poking the holocron, watching Ciaran and developing a Force philosophy based on the patterns she saw...

The idea of Ventriss being the one who creates "the way of Ciaran" is deeply amusing to me.

Omake - Thrawn's quest for Knowledge.

Journal Audio-Log 4565...

As I've stated so many times before in previous logs the most important thing to have when fighting a war is to know your enemy. I have discovered in my engagements that having a deep and infatuating relationship with the enemies history, art, and contemporary knowledge of their average day is like playing an Royal House in poker. Of course, I play the Royal House while my eccentric employer plays 'full house' and so I win! Not her ME!

Ahem.

But I digress. Recently it has come to my attention that I am perplexed with these force users. The Huks are an old enemy of General Grevious and Lady Ciaran. The Huk are responsible for a war of extermination declared on the Kaleesh that was only discovered and revealed by Lady Ciaran in her benevolence. An as I am sure she would put it, 'Just benevolence'. Trite. I'm sure the Kaleesh's good will and ability to move assets had no motivation. She knows I know so why not be honest? Women.

In the event that the Huk are ever used as an asset against us I have decided to learn about their culture and possibly more of the Kaleesh themselves through it. With so much tension than surely these creatures would have reasons as all civilized societies tend to have.

My research into the Huk revealed little though as the galactipedia barely has any mention of them. Most likely due to the Huks isolationism but also their quite honestly monstrous appearance. They look like an angry wookies arse paracites being experimented on to grow spontaneously humongous. Ghastly.

Furthermore, looking into what trade logs are made public about the Huk they seem to import vast amounts of food from the outside. So great are the imports that they show to be 40% of their entire Imports or 754 gigatons of nutritional items. Despite this starvation and cannibalism is very common within Huk society which shows how desperate they wanted to have the Kaleesh destroyed. This civilization has no ideology conflict or trade wars going on rather a simple need to expand in order to alleive the suffering of billions of their species.

Lastly the Huk have no culture. Mostly because the ones being fed must work hard to continue being fed and the rest die from overwork and lack of food. Understandable knowing that art comes from a surplus of food being available to allow artists to work on their pieces. This sadly blocks me from learning more of the Huk which forces me onto my conclusion that one day someone should really destroy these parasitic creatures. They are the epitome of taking without producing much but more larva.

Nyergh...it's like so close to being canon but there's just a couple of details that throw me off. If you don't mind some constructive criticism, it's namely that Thrawn would never get worked up about poker games or use such crass metaphors like with the wookie parasites. Such things are...beneath a man of his bearing.

I'm still totally going to give you the +10 though because I do appreciate Thrawn's conclusion that the Huk are just a race of assholes (which they totally are).

.... drunk Thrawn?

...I get the vibe that would be one of those things rumored among the Abyss Watchers but never actually seen. Sure, you can conceivably put the words "drunk" and "Thrawn" together but still...

(More accurately, the man does not relax like normal people. He doesn't get drunk, he goes to visit art museums or something instead)

I agree on that. Far too crude language and Thrawn not being remotely cold and calculating enough.

the blazing chains instructor believes that that the force is a tool much like a blaster and that Jedi and Sith put way too much thought into philosophy.

a quote from the advisor panel part of the organization assets.

"I don't give two shits about Jedi or Sith. The Force is a tool for us to use, not the other way around."

He's a former pirate what did you expect from him.

I am aware of that quote. I was merely commenting on the fact any philosophies our order develops will most likely be influenced by the Blazing Chains due to said instructor.
