Why does Ciaran profit from saving the Jedi from their own stupidity in this case?
Think Long-term: Palps used this to strongly increase anti-Jedi sentiments in the populace. She admits their flaws, but they did have a "good goal" that she could affect.
+
Anakin. This is VERY important to him, and our actions here will affect how he (and Ahsoka) sees us.

In all sincerity a lot of Ciaran's reason for interfering is "because my Shatterpoint senses told me this would be important and they've been accurate every other time."

Not to mention that at this point there's the chance of taking down Sora Bulq.
Ok, I'll give you about Sora ( ..... am I the only one thinking about "Kingdom Hearts"?), but I think even without Shatterpoint she'd still would come here after the bombing. Anakin, Obi and few other "good friends" and friends could have been affected (+ PR stuff that she could use to better her ratings......)

Right then, with no other votes I'm going to call it. Ciaran and Thrawn are going to split their efforts and play to their strengths, and the Sentinels are going to get a memo about the Dark Jedi and how they should look into people connected to Ahsoka.

Also, because I missed this in the hubub of writing and voting:

This does seem like everything Cheriss would do to pimp the droidekas. Canon, +10.

This does seem like everything Cheriss would do to pimp the droidekas. Canon, +10.
so those would be elite units then or would the replace our force's droidekas completely?

...you know now that I'm thinking about it and seeing how we have a puppet in charge of the techno union, I'm wondering if that we should make a plan B and find a way to make it so palpatine does gain control of the republic he can't turn off the droid army and we could try and use the CIS to bring palpatine down... or at least keep him busy to buy us more time to try and figure out how to actually take him down. Hell seeing how all the major players in the CIS are actually on good terms with us we could try and bullshit a reason for a meeting with all of them individually and find a way to make certain batches of droids (or all of them) have a bug that gives them a different shutdown phrase (or deadbolt or whatever the kill switch was called to shut down all the droids) then whatever palpatine is using so he can't just end the war whenever he feels like it. Plus it's been awhile since we've done anything involving the CIS.

Surveillance Reports (Canon)
To: Ciaran
CC: Gulan Terrek
From: [Redacted]

Surveilance Report:

Good day boss-lady!
I've forwarded some updated surveilance reports to you for later inspection, but I'll give you a simple rundown in my own words.
Lets start with someone we lost track of for a while simply due to how inconsequential he is or at least used to be.

Finis Valorum
Believe it or not, but his reputation isn't as bad as it used to be since he heavily involves himself with refugee relief organisations (you may remember that he is one of the many people who supported the founding of the Silver Cross), small scale diplomatic activities and some interviews with our own media outlets which did their best to put him into a far better light than the one Palpatine put him in. Interestingly, the SSS recently killed a would-be Anzat assassin who tried to murder Valorum and blow up the passenger ship he was on at the time. Unfortunately no informations could be gained about the identity of the assassin.

Fact is: The less popular Palpatine gets, the longer the war rages and the more our own counter-propaganda sets roots, the more popular Valorum gets. We may be able to use that popularity at some point.

Padme Amidala
Honestly, her situation is a complete nightmare. She has to represent Naboo both to the Republic and the CNS, be part of the whole backdoor sheming that is intended to get rid of Palpatine, avoid Palpatine, justify the CNS membership to the population off Naboo alongside Queen Neeyutnee since essentially rebelling against Palpatine without actually calling him out on his sheming is... hard to explain to civilians. The fact that we once again have rabblerousers on Naboo is surprising nobody, but fortunately we have so many employees there that we are keeping track of the mess. That, and our own security personeel is cooperating with everyone we know there. Sabe and Captain Panaka for example... althought the later we are keeping more than a couple of eyes on since he is a Palpatine loyalist and we are just waiting for him to make a wrong move.

In addition, the SSS is doing their best to keep an eye on her. Going by reports they are amassing quite a collection of surveilance equipment which they keep finding in her home, ships and belongings.

Captain Quarsh Panaka
This guy is a problem. On one hand he is a Palpatine loyalist and on the other hand he personaly blames Padme for getting Naboo into a precarious situation. Essentially he calls her ungrateful, critizes everything she does as politicing, critizes her for having had to rely on you for restoring Naboo and so on and so on. Of course, all that out of earshot of anyone, but thats not something that ever stopped us from knowing what someone thinks.

Sabe
She has been a great help for our personel in handling Padmes security on Naboo and Coruscant, occasionaly even taking up her old role as decoy again and generaly acts as assistant for Padme to ease the burden she has to carry nowadays.

Duchess Satine Kryze
She is as warry about our intentions as usuall, but she is doing an excellent job in representing the CNS which the countless systems that have joined us have proven. The fact that she doesn't need to worry about Mandalore as much after we alongside Jango wiped out the Deathwatch (which in all honesty proved that something was seriously wrong with her hopes for Mandalore) and the more martial inclined Mandalorians get their chance to live out their ideals in a non-destructive way, helps a lot. Not to mention that the Camas ceasefire has ensured that she has a remarkable reputation.

Also, she is definitely pining for Obi-Wan. Its hilarious.

Fact is: She is doing a great job and is in no position to cause us any trouble.

Suberoa Zinnerman
Nothing new here. He is still as wary of you as usuall, but he is doing a good job in managing Taris although he is swamped in paperwork due to the flood of refugees. At least it will mean he is too busy to glare at people when they mention you. Most of the time at least.

Addendum, Mandalore
The situation on the planet is interesting. We got the Pacifist faction and then we got Jango Fetts Warriors and they actually get along just fine. Want to fight like the Mandalorians of old? Join Jango to protect Mandalore and the CNS. Not martially inclined? Do whatever else you want.

Ferus Ollin
There is not much to know about Ferus Olin aside from the fact that he is still part of the GAR as Commander and keeps in contact with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Darra and Siri. He is quite successfull too as a commander, although our men haven't gotten around to paying his troops a 'visit' yet which we will soon recitify.

Jabba the Hutt
Ever since we delievered Ziro the Hutt to him he has become more powerful then ever. He may have handed Ziros businesses and assets over to Borvo, but getting rid of Ziro and the blackmail he had on the Hutt council has increased his standing amongst the Hutts by A LOT, which means more business for him which in turn means more credits and power for him. In addition, the final demise of the Black Sun also means that he has no opposition aside from his fellow Hutts.

Fact is: He is happy and rich, which means good business for us as well.

Wookiees
The relations with the Wookiees are as good as ever and thanks to some loopholes we made sure that they aren't cut off from trade too much due to the war. In addition House Benelex is making good business helping them recover slaves from the Trandoshan slavers which in turn turns the Trandoshans from hunters to prey for once.

In addition, the wookiee engineers on our own planet are surpassing all other personell we have on-site in terms of competence and have actually also started to experiment in trying to plant Wroshyr trees. That reminds me, we got a intereting delivery. A impressive statue of you made out of wroshyr wood made by old Attichitcuk on Kashyyk. You should collect it at some point.

((I was bored. Then I decided to write something about Star Wars ultimate scapegoat... Finis Valorum. The I wrote some more things.))

I'd much rather we absorbed the CIS into the CNS and destroyed the corrupt republic (or empire).

Ciaran worked hard to found the CIS darnit! It should be hers! (Along with the rest of the galaxy of course.)

Unfortunately the CIS has an actual government that opposes Palpatine, while the CNS is a coalition of planets who want to remain neutral for various reasons. I think it is easier for the CIS to annex to the CNS and Ciaran can take control easier either due to Dooku needing a good spymaster or the Council needing someone with good PR to run the Confederacy.

Or who just want to leave the Republic.

Well yes... but ultimately the power to conduct the war is in the hands of the Separatist Council (since they own the army that means there'll never be any backlash from large numbers of casualties), who if Dooku gets his way will do whatever he says and Dooku wants Sidious dead before trying for peace. Even if Dooku dies, Ciaran can influence them to support her.

For a side note after watching a top five criminal organisations in Star Wars and looking over the power of the Abyss Watchers... we're on the level of Prince Xizor during the Galactic Empire.

Mmm.

Two questions

1. How would our Grevious stack up to Canon Grevious? I know that our grevious would hate (or at least dislike) his canon incarnation and the feeling would be mutual, but in a fight who would win?
2. Which version of Grevious would be canon here? Badass Clone Wars version

Or more of a bitch clone wars version

There was a Q&A post along these lines.

As I understand it...

Our Grievous is more "warlord" and less "champion". He is the epitome of Kaleesh, the best, rather than a twisted mockery of everything he once stood for. Each would hate the other, but in a brightly lit, flat terrain duel cyborg Grievous probably comes out on top.

Like the Abyss Walker vs. Jedi Knight matchup, though...if our Grievous is in a brightly lit, flat terrain duel...there are probably several squads of Kaleesh in the stands with rifles trained on his opponent waiting for his word. That word being "screw playing fair."

It is nice to see Finis Valorum in a good light. Despite his failure to stem the epidemic corruption within the Old Republic and his love of his own position of power and influence, Valorum was loyal to the Republic and its democratic ideals and he was certainly not corrupt like many other senators in the Galactic Senate.

Yep. Behind the scenes it was mentioned that he was a 'good man' who was helplessly belaguered. He of course also had the additional misfortune to be Chancelor when Palpatine was active.

Also, for the sake of moodwhiplash:

Currently in the Undercity: Abyss Watchers sheming, Ahsoka hiding, assassins searching for the later and conspiracies are happening. Also a bodycount has started as well.

Meanwhile in Borvos Palace who was spared being dragged into this:

Not really. You could binge the game in like four, five hours. It's not hard or long. It's just. One of those cult games that fell short of being an icon of the industry.

@Dr. Snark
Couldn't help but point out for the last update, there were instances where Ahsoka was mispelled as Ahoska in a few places.

Abyss Watchers Organization Composition (Canon Info)
Abyss Watchers Organisation Composition
Note: The Organisation is further divided up than presented here. The following is simply a rough examination and explanation:
Abyss Watchers (Core)
The Core of the Abyss Watchers, consisting of the Council and all assets and personel not bound or assigned to any specific assignment,

Abyss Watchers (Intelligence)

The intelligence arm of the Abyss Watchers exclusively assigned to gathering information to be used by all other branches of the Abyss Watchers. Has considerable overlap with the criminal arm of the Abyss Watchers.

Abyss Watchers/Duskblades/Nebula Hoppers/Krayt Claws/Nerf-Herders*/Free-Traders**/Etc. (Crime)
The criminal arm of the Abyss Watchers is actually divided into a large number of gangs and smaller organisations for ease of managment and to seperate the name 'Abyss Watchers' from the activities. Of course, the gang members are actually Abyss Watcher members or at least on their payroll. The criminal activities consist mostly of light crime ranging from illegal gambling, smuggling and various cons to things like protection rackets (which actually are then treated fairly and seriously) as most 'hard crimes' are generaly avoided. Especially slavery and spice trade of harmful narcotics are avoided like the plague due to the damage it causes to societies. Half-dead druggies and slaves aren't productive members of society.

*The Nerf-Herders are in fact a group of traders making their credits with supplying spacebound and remote Shadowports with basic supplies and necessities ranging from food, medicine, and so on to fuel and construction materials.

**A smuggling group that originated from Ciarans attempts to bypass the various blockaded traderoutes. The Free-Trader name originates from it, as they originaly did not smuggle illegal goods.

Abyss Watchers (Mercenaries)
The one group most people will think about when they hear the name 'Abyss Watchers'. A elite mercenary group evolved out of the Abyss Watchers thugs and enforcers who nowadays handle a lot of work ranging from guard duty, assaults, reinforcement of law-enforcement, occasional bounty hunts and whatever else. They do have high standards when it comes to employer though.

Ciaran Holdings (Economy)
The economic branch of the Abyss Watchers consisting of most companies owned or partially owned by Ciaran. Although some of the more questionable companies that would reflect unfavorably on Ciarans public persona or reveal how far her influence truly goes are owned by proxies via shell companies.
- Karada Corporation (Medicine)
The Karada Corporation falls under Ciaran Holdings and is directly owned by Ciaran as being associated with a Medical Corporation that supplies various charity and refugee organisations reflects good on her. The Karada Corporation meanwhile is split into two groups though, as one part is handling the production and research of commercialy sold medicine and supplies and the other handles research and supply for the various branches of the Abyss Watchers.

Ciaran Foundation (Charity)
A Foundation funded by Ciaran tasked with aiding and organising charity/humanitarian organisations and events.
- Silver Cross (Charity)
Ciarans personal Humanitarian organisation which not only aids war-torn worlds, refugees, the poor and everyone else who needs humanitarian aid, but is also used as cover by the Abyss Watchers to avoid suspicion and enter active warzones.

Versuch Labs

Semi-Legal labs dedicated to the study and experimentative treatment of unusual diseases. The 'patients' are those who can't afford treatment elsewhere and where the Silver Cross is not equipped to deal efficiently with the disease or injuries in question. On one hand the treatments are as a fact experimental, but on the other hand fully voluntary, the patients are being paid generous sums and the scientists and doctors are genuinely dedicated to healing the patients and go out of their way to avert lethal outcomes of the experiments.

((BORED. May write more later.))

I'm Still Relevant (Canon)
Oracle, A week before the Temple Bombing

"PR-1, is there anything else that needs to be done today?" Its been a long day and I in all honesty hoped that he would say no but knowing my luck he would of course still have something to do.

"Actually, yes. There is a encrypted priority message for you from one of our teams on... Tatooine. I'll establish contact now." I just sighed and prepared to hear from the newest sheanigans as PR-1 activated the holo... although seeing nothing before the shown picture jerked around and showed... Xruk and for some reason a few Jawas and Ugnaughts. ">>Not like this idiot. More to the right.<<", "Utini!", ">>Left, LEFT I SAY!<<" *Grunt*, "Stop, stop, stop! I think we got it now!"

I could allready feel a headache coming. "Xruk. What are you doing on Tatooine? Where is the team that was actually sent there to handle the Tusken? Why are you running around with a bunch of Jawas and Ugnaughts? Explain. NOW." Xruk of course only turned the camera around to show half a burning village and a bunch of dead Tusken. "First, I've handled the job myself. Second, I beat them unconscious after I heard them complain about me earlier. Should still be lying around in the freighter they took here. Thirdly, they are my new personal team with which I'll loot absolutely everything. We demand respect! I tell you, boss! I'm still relevant, DAMN IT!"

"Okay, sure. Have fun." With that I decided to not bother with the Gants tantrum nor wrack my brain about his new club of 'diminutive murderers for hire' and gestured for PR-1 to quickly cut the connection which he thankfully did almost immideately.

"PR-1. Postpone anything else that might come up today unless it is really important. I need a drink."

((Still bored. Also, Xruk is still relevant, DAMN IT!))
